To those comparing Parker with Yossi : Yossi was a welcome crafty addition to a squad that had won the Double. His possesses a skill set that nobody had in that 09-10 team (once Deco left) and incidentally, nobody in the current team does either. I still believe he alongwith Ramires (once signed initially,) were criticized in a misplaced sense of frustration by some fans who could not get over the fact that we replaced popular figures like Ballack and Joe Cole with a relatively-unknown Brazilian and a Liverpool bench-warmer. Parker, on the other hand, doesn't add anything different to the side. The only thing in my mind that he has going for him is that he adds to the numbers and helps out with the English quota. We already have Mikel who is by far the best DM in the side, and Ramires who arguably is, or at least, should be the first name on the sheet these days as far as the midfield is concerned. This is not a slight on Parker, he has proven himself to be a very gritty and inspirational performer, as we saw last season, but I don't think we need him or indeed, others of his ilk, unless of course we're looking to sign squad players.

I'd say Indians are racist, to an extent. The way Africans or Blacks are portrayed in the media gives away the fact that some Indians consider them inferior because of their skin colour. In Indian movies you'd often find Blacks playing the role of mafia henchmen or other such anti-social elements. While we have an obsession with white skin and fairness creams for example make a fortune selling their stuff here. There's a very popular brand "Fair & Lovely" - I guess you know what I mean when they immediately follow the word 'fair' with 'lovely'.

Yeah that's about it, really. If we don't sign players after the Asia tour, that's when I'll really start panicking.

Don't really know of any racial tensions at all. Certainly no outbreak of violence between two communities. You might see the odd right-wing nutter on the telly spouting the usual anti-Pakistan lines, but of course it's all politically motivated, seeing as speaking out against Pakistan is the ultimate brownie point earner in India. I am astounded though as to the callousness with which the Congress government is treating this. Irresponsible statements like "every such attack cannot be stopped" from Rahul Gandhi (not sure if you know him) paints a picture of how much human life is valued here.

Marko Marin is a good little player, and possesses the quality to be one of the genuinely great wingers of his generation. I wonder if we've ever taken a look at him. Adam Johnson is another I would welcome with open arms. There's no word on Turan or Mata atm, could be a good thing if there's stuff happening behind closed doors. You never know. I don't think we'll get 2 though. I think Sturridge will be played wide with the license to cut in and get shots away. It's not ideal, but hey ho.

Was more impressed with Kalas tbh. Definitely our stand-out player of the first half.
