Thing is if we allowed Arteta it would certainly start some sort of wave across England. Then every foreign player who's yet to make an international appearance will try to get into the England squad, it once again hampers the English youth development here. Arteta is a brilliant player, it's a shame he can't breakthrough into the Spanish squad. But I just think at the end of the day, if you're not English then you shouldn't play for the England squad. Then English youth will go abroad because they'll think they'll never be able to break through.

Yeah but Luiz was a ridiculous amount and he's only a centre back by trade. Ramos is quite a good player, especially on the attack. Would be great to see both Ash and Ramos bombing down the wings we know how effective they can be. & Bruma had a hernia op 2 days ago. I don't think he'll be back for the next few weeks. Even if we could get Ramos on a season-long loan I think we should do it (provided it's a good price)

Something that's been bothering me of late is this whole Mikel Arteta issue about playing for England. He's been in country long enough, apparently, too qualify to do so. So I put it to you forum, should we allow foreigners into our squad? My personal view is quite clear, NO. The England National Team is exactly what it says, players who are ENGLISH representing their country. It's saying something about the quality of English players when he have to use Spaniards to help us win things! In cricket England is becoming dominated by players born in South Africa and now they're amongst the main stars for England. However this is wrong! They're South African so they should represent South Africa not England.

Thing is. I wouldn't be surprised if this actually went through. Bruma's got an injury, Sam's retired, Bos is a bit injury prone now and we've lost Rickki. If Alex was to get injured today we'd play Ivan at CB and Ferreira at RB (and we all know how Ferreira does) Ramos is a versatile defender, like Ivan, he's both a RB and a CB. Plus he's only 24. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying we need him, but I can understand if Carlo does.

The thing I love JT is, he hasn't let the booing affect his footballing ability. We all saw yesterday all the crunching vital tackles he put in, this season he'll be very important as a defender as well as leader. Was proud of our fans yesterday! Even in a stadium dominated by Wigan supporters you could hear the support for John Terry & Ashley Cole.. Great stuff to hear

Hahahaha brilliant!

Yeah, I hate to admit it, but I was one of those who saw "malouda" on the team sheet and cringed. But my god, what a turn around he's made! This is why I don't hate on Kalou anymore, because I know he can turn it around

I think you should change that subline to "Blue batter woeful Wigan.. Again" Alex

Exactly! This is a CHELSEA FC forum not "Prove TX Wrong" forum

Kakuta is injured.

If only he did that day in-day out at Blackburn or for us in pre-season

I wouldn't mind if he was loaned out to a Premier League team. Nothing less.

Youth: The annoying recurring theme this season
LDN Blue replied to Rubber bullets's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Yeah sorry, I just realised my mistake My suggestion of starting McEachran vs Wigan was hypothetical. When we get youth players ready these are the types of games we should be playing. So you're right in the sense Josh isn't a good example to make. -
He did an interview in The Times last week about this, I forgot to post it. He's very annoyed with the Ghana medicals in fact. When he got injured the first time in 2008 it was an anterior cruciate ligament injury. From then he knew what it felt like and how the pain felt. When he went to ACN and got injured again the doctors said straight away it was a anterior cruciate ligament injury again, however he knew different. He said it wasn't the same pain nor was it in the same place. He refused to believe what they said. So upon that, he came back to England and got tested by our doctors in which they told him it was a different kind. He says he doesn't want to play for Ghana because he feels it will affect his Chelsea career. In short, the man is putting Club over Country.

Finally Bosingwa!! :') -
Don't be so sure. Real Madrid have some connections with the Spanish government. Some even say the PAY for a portion of Real transfers! Because the return they make on things like shirt sales/tickets sales and all that is great! The Chinese government will look to do the same, I'd imagine.

Youth: The annoying recurring theme this season

You've misunderstood my point COMPLETELY. I'm not saying we should start McEachran now but I'm saying when we have these players who look to be ready to compete in first team action we should put them in against teams who are in the bottom half of the table, teams like Wigan, West Ham, Wolves ect. These are good teams to let young players play again because they can play with the senior players too. Young players need to be given the chance to see what Premier League football is like, it tells the players and coaches what individual players need to work on. For example, Josh would figure out he needs to bulk up, so he'd realise that on his own and put in the time and effort. -
Madrid aren't you stupid enough to take a £35million gamble on a 19 year old who's not established himself vs any big teams.

Sam Hutchinson makes an unlikely comeback!
LDN Blue replied to DavidEU's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
I'm really happy at what Chelsea are doing. Like Zakkko said, most other teams would trash this kid out onto the street! But we're supporting him through his uni course and letting him know he still has a future at Chelsea Football Club. -
Bahaha saw this. Oh Kenyon, you can never keep him out of football. First United then Chelsea now Liverpool. On a serious note though: I hope you guys realise, if Huang's takeover goes through Liverpool will indirectly be owned by the Chinese government. Last time I checked, they're richer than the Saudi's

I keep pointing this out.. It's like I said in the post "What do Chelsea need to do to reach the status of teams like Real Madrid and Manchester United" (or something like that) We need to get our own youth developed superstar in our squad who's the same nationality. All the big teams have a few: United: Scholes, Giggs, Neville (he's shite but..) Barca: Xavi, Iniesta, Valdes, Messi Real: Casillas, Ramos, Raúl (I know he's gone now.. but 16 years with the club?) Chelsea: Terry, Mancienne (barely), Turnbull (..) There's hardly anyone in our squad who's come through the ranks. The future could be: Chelsea: Terry, Manicenne, McEachran, Mellis, Bertrand + more But this is if Chelsea give them the push they need. I'm not saying introduce them straight away. But vs teams such as Wigan why not start McEachran with Lampard? Look at Arsenal. First game of the season away to Liverpool at Anfield (not and easy place for ANY team), he gives Jack Wilshere a start! The lad is only 18. -
