I've always accepted honest defeat, Liverpool away, Sunderland at home & even Birmingham away. Today was the tale of 2 sh*t teams. One won by the luck of a terrible lapse in defeat, that's my honest view. I don't think they were better, except in their 5-man defence which stood against all our attacks and reduced us from shooting at distance. The midfield belonged to us, and our defence was tight 80% of the game. I don't deny their victory, I'm simply saying we're both awful. We should learn from it. My honest view.

Exactly. This was a really dull game, and spoilt by the Torres-media hype. I find the result in the past already.

I still maintain, Mikel is pivotal. He wasn't as good today because of that atrocious booking he got in the 30th second of the match! So he had to play as risk free as possible, which meant he couldn't commit as much.

Knee-jerk. Ivanovic is a world class defender who's proved himself time and time again. Anyway when Luiz came on we changed the back line to Ivanovic - Luiz - Terry - Cole.

But we won at Sunderland, and in style with 4-2. If we'd played 4-3-3 and lost everyone would say "why didn't he play the same formation than he did at Sunderland". His formation = what most people put up on this forum, based on the game at Sunderland.

Point was, they didn't play better. They got lucky. I'm not saying we deserved to win, I'm saying they didn't. We cancelled them out in the final third of our half almost all the time, they came close with Maxi hitting the bar & then their eventual goal. We too came close with Drogba putting through Torres and Essien narrowly missing the corner. 0-0 would've been fair. Luck was on their side.

Not really. We both played sh*t. Their formation was 5-3-2, it was always designed to shut off our attack, that's the only thing they did well. In midfield we owned him. Their goal came through a defensive lapse, not their work.

Training is nothing compare to an actual match. The pressure is different, as is the work rate and player mentality. Don't be so naive. If it had worked we'd all praise him.

Yeah, but let's be honest, he can't change the fixture list. He changed the shape at Sunderland and it worked, with Kalou in the Torres role. The signs were there for it to be successful today, alas it didn't. Now let's see what he does at Fulham now, if it's a new shape then we must trust him.
