  1. We actually have one of those out in the Prem at the moment
  2. Seeing emotional Stevie & thus emotional Liverpool fans.. How seriously funny is it going to be if they don't win anything?
  3. I'm not sure. Certainly you may be right about Eto'o and Ba being frequently rotated but it does seem like he doesn't trust Torres at all unless we're really desperate. Even then Torres' instructions seem to be to stay wide and be an extra defender
  4. He's definitely a Mourinho guy. You can tell Mou likes the kid a lot, as evident by his celebration when he scored v Arsenal.. So I don't think it'll bother Jose one tiny bit that he didn't "shine" yesterday. Exposure is what he wants Salah to have right now.
  5. The shouting was awakening when Sterling opened the scoring. Not fun when I was hungover all afternoon
  6. Because it's all relevant. You're right though, your post was on the assumption if we win all 4 games, which does make Liverpool irrelevant. But your conclusion is wrong if City win their remaining 6.. Which I believe they can do with Aguero returning.
  7. True. But you also have to remember, most those guys now know how to win a title. Especially in such a dramatic way. They don't actually have a hurdle as big as us and Liverpool. Also key is, our trip to Liverpool and our last game of the season is away. The only time we've lost this season has been away. City finish at home to West Ham, who are presumably safe now so West Ham will have no trouble taking an ass whooping. Liverpool are at home to Newcastle who are exactly like West Ham and have nothing to lose. We've got Cardiff who are fighting by the skins of their teeth to avoid relegation which means they're going to looking for a win more than anyone
  8. Are you suggesting we'll end the season by beating Cardiff 8-0 to win the title?
  9. Considering everyone has that (well, City with two more), the odds are perhaps not in our favour. I still believe it's City's to lose, especially when we beat Liverpool.
  10. Case and point was probably at Manchester City when they once had Given & Hart as #1
  11. I know the whole "no-one's above the club" et al may be true.. But only to an extent. The fact is, if you want to strive to keep your best players a club has to make sacrifices. That's them putting the club in the bigger picture. The bigger picture here is this; Courtois has undoubtedly the most potential to be world-class out of the current crop of young keepers. We've seen, from history, how clubs like United & Arsenal have failed to replace their number ones. United after Schmeichal is the most clear-cut example. If Courtois want's #1 and we give it to him it's not Chelsea putting Courtois over them.. It's them looking after their best interests. It's not right and it's not always fair for fans to witness. But Courtois is in the prime of his life and he's not going to sacrifice his rise (nor should we)
  12. Interesting take to defend his stay here with a financial reason, when those same reasons can be used to say why he shouldn't be here. Transfer fee & wages cannot be recouped by shirt sales. He's not Ronaldo, Beckham etc because his game's fallen off. You can only defend such costs of a player when he continues to be at the top of his game. You can't call him a 'poster boy' if he's not actually on the pitch. I wouldn't be so harsh as to compare him to Bogarde, because it's not like anyone's actually coming in for Torres. If they have then it clearly hasn't been a good enough offer. Before anyone suggests 'just let him go for free' that also wouldn't make any financial sense either. Double-edge sword using finances to defend/persecute Torres.
  13. Well, if you take it in the context of a joke, it does
  14. I read a valid tweet last night, "if Januzaj were a Chelsea player, he'd be at Vitesse." Why, after all those who've left, we haven't gotten our heads around the concept of a "buy-back clause" I'll never know.
  15. So.. We've more/less paid £50m for Luiz?
  16. I'm sure the Premier League won't let us, would they?
  17. Ah come on, we all know Mata hasn't been treated like those guys. Players like Luiz still get a lot of match time and are actually part of Mou's squad. Mata's just being played because he's there and he's usually now always the first to be taken off. It's different.
  18. I'm quite annoyed with Eto'o. Could've EASILY cost us 2 points today for such a needless foul...
  19. What if the intent is to cause hate crimes?
  20. Well that's a bit of a grey area. If it entices violence and hate crime, then it should be (not talking Anelka here) because the sign/salute in itself is provocation.
  21. Poor Nico Anelka lmao. Comes back after a while off form and dealing with personal issue, scores a brace, doesn't end up winning the game and now is in hot water with the FA... Maybe the MLS will be kinder to him
  22. Lmao, how is he over-hyped? He's a great talent to be honest, those issues he had off the field at United seemed to have diminished from his character. But it's too early for him to be making moves into big clubs. West Ham is a good place for him to showcase his talent and make a move to a mid-table club before thinking European quality.
  23. A 0-0 would be the most realistic result to be honest. Only a fool would dismiss the potential of Liverpool to embarrass us, their confidence is sky-high after the form of Suarez and their play over all. Even off the back to the City game they'll be confident with the great fluidity of their game! I'd have no problem with a "boring" tactic from Mourinho here to shut them off completely. We may be very much in the title race, but there's nothing to be confident about at the moment.
  24. well, that's sort of contradictory isn't it? I mean a meaning of a gesture goes on perspectives. Anelka's perception isn't anti-semetic, whereas yours is?
