  1. Maybe Man City have FFP issues as well, combined with the player being disgruntled for not playing enough? I've heard people suggest that when you combine transfer fees, agent fees, wages and bonuses that should be obtainable the Harland transfer is probably the most expensive transfer of all time. So perhaps it's no coincidence that Man City are selling Palmer at the same time that they are purchasing Nunes from Wolves.
  2. Drogba contributed so much to Chelsea in those two seasons, but in those years his touch was uncertain and he could be clumsy. I believed sacrificed a lot of his game by running himself into the ground and physically overcoming rival centre backs. This was his main contribution, teams daren't play deep against him because he'd bludgeon their defence, but they didn't want to push their back line too far forward or the pace of Robben and Duff would get them. For some reason, I seem to remember the match where is single handily destroyed Liverpool at Anfield, and walked right through their defence to become the monster that we love him to be.
  3. Drogba is undoubtedly one of Chelsea's all time greats. As someone who has all the usual anxieties when it comes to penalty shootouts, I had absolutely no doubt when he stepped up to take his penalty in Munich. With peoples willingness to write off current and recent past Chelsea players, you do wonder how he would have been received today? After all, he only scored 10 Premier League goals in his first season and 12 in his second.
  4. Don't for a minute believe that I agree with a lot of Chelsea's owners decisions, I'm just saying that when the players do arrive we should back them. The alternative is just toxicity, and that is a sure fire way to destroy the club. We've all watched with glee Arsenal fans turn on themselves, the players and the club and the damage it caused. That pathway has to be avoided at all costs.
  5. That does not make any sense, what do you think I believe I am entitled to? All I'm saying is that we all need to stop writing off the players, back them and enjoy the ride. Will this team go on and dominate English football? Who knows, but let's do our best to enjoy the ride rather then snipe, bitch and moan about how rubbish our players are. Yes, today was massively disappointing, but we have to take the rough with the smooth, suck it up and keep on looking forwards.
  6. How can you seriously suggest that the players are not or will never be capable of doing Chelsea proud second game in the middle of a serious rebuild? Also, just because they were not capable today does not mean that the players will not be capable tomorrow, or the day after that, or even the day after that. Let's drop this sense of entitlement, and back those players!
  7. Why? Everyone already knows that that the squad is young.
  8. Irrespective of how we believed the club should be run, we are where we are and we have to move forwards the best we can. The issue with Salah and KDB was that Mourinho believed that they weren't good enough for the club at that moment, and that was the only thing that mattered. Does this attitude ring any bells?
  9. I'm not so sure that I'd be comfortable to go with a black and white, good enough/not good judgement on the players so quickly. Personally I think that people need accept that a disappointing run of performances doesn't mean that a player is not good enough, football is far more complicated than that. It's this attitude that saw Salah and De Byune being cheered on by Liverpool and Citeh fans.
  10. Just think about what you are saying. You want to agree to disagree about whether or not we should get behind the players/team/squad/club and offer them all the support we can, rather than being too quick to write them off. Especially so considering the age of the team and the amount of ridicule that they're currently facing.
  11. I'm sorry but money doesn't come into it. Learning to handle pressure, is a process that lots of these young players are on, and it'll be a lot easier journey if they felt that they had the support of their own fans. I'm massively disappointed by today's result, as you can tell by my posts. I'm just going to have to suck it up though rather than take it out on the players.
  12. All I was suggesting was imagine how it may effect the players performances if they knew that they were held in contempt by their own supporters. Maybe the attitude here is a reflection of the the attitude of Chelsea fans, maybe not; but this negativity thrown towards the club by their own fans just winds me up. Especially so with all the young players signed. Yea the times have been tough for Chelsea, but it's during these tough times that the team needs the support of the fans more than ever. You have to take the rough with the smooth. The shit times just makes the good times taste sweeter.
  13. Agreed, we have signed lots of young players, all the more reason we get behind them and support them rather writing them off. Imagine how they would feel if they read this forum.
  14. Maybe "Arsenal" are fools, or maybe not. My point still stands, we should be supporting and backing our players and not writing them off. (Lukaku excluded) From memory Mudryk contributed to 5 goals in the qualifying campaign.
  15. It wasn't Just Chelsea that was after him, Arenal was also desperate to sign him. His performances in the Champions League were also very good, so there is a player there. Maybe he's struggling with all the negativity surrounding Chelsea at the moment, with far too many overly entitled fans more than happy to write off their players, rather than getting behind and supporting them.
  16. Since Olise renewed his contract we seem to be struggling to get anyone in. With there seemingly being lots of competition for not that many viable options and names like Brennan Johnson being banded about, would be better to give CHO a final chance and if that does no work out address this situation next year. CHO obviously had potential, but has also lost his way. Maybe Potch, who has a record of developing youngsters, could help get CHO's career back on track?
  17. Maybe he only signed the contract after Chelsea cancelled the deal? It's the only thing that makes sense.
  18. The only way I'd even begin to think about integrating Lukaku back into the first team squad was if he hit his target weight that was worked out with the sports scientists. I'd also tell him we'd be regularly checking him for PEDs to make sure he's not taking short cuts with his weight loss. For me that would prove he's regained his motivation. Unfortunately, I don't think that he has it in him to do it any more.
  19. Brighton are desperate for us to include Colwill as part of the deal to sign Caicedo. Could Disasi be signed as Colwill's replacement?
  20. Does this signing of Disasi increase the chances of a swap deal with Brighton?
  21. I'm not too sure. Part of the attraction for a lot of players was, moving to London whilst earning and unbelievable amount of money. It offers a fantastic opportunities. Apart from some of the pious Muslim players, I'm not sure that many of them are moving to Saudi for their lifestyle.
  22. I don't think that it was the FA who said no, I'm sure it was the Premier League. I'm happy to be corrected though.
  23. From The Sun, please forgive me for using the sun: From the Star, again sorry: Does this not mean that 5th Place should be enough next season?
