  1. I think a £30m deal would be quite reasonable as long as we have a buy back clause at <=£50m + sell on fee. Honestly, letting these players go to a club where they can be settled for a few years and grow as a guaranteed no.1 and then buy them back if / when it makes sense seems like a solid plan to me. We need income. Later, if these players turn out to be at Chelsea's level we can buy them and if not, we move for whoever in the market does make sense. Imagine if we had sold Hudson Odoi for money when he was looking good but gave ourselves a buy back clause? When he flopped, we would have been laughing. If he had banged, we would have bought him back. It is just good business IMO.
  2. Not sure what future Hall has here now though, where would he play? We've stacked the midfield (his supposed natural position) with expensive players and he was a makeshift LB (where we have 2 senior players + Maatsen). Maybe he has a role here in 2-3 years if Chilly and Cucu both move on or if Maatsen leaves or moves position? I'd probably just sell him with a cheap buy back clause + huge sell on fee and we can see in the future if he makes sense to play at CFC tbh, just definitely shouldn't sell him without it or loan him to a poorly fitting club that will stunt his growth (and frankly, his future transfer value).
  3. Lukaku doesn’t need bad management to turn into a giant useless cunt that downs tools, we should never have bought him in the first place, guarantee we wouldn’t have under PW/LS.
  4. Given how much time Santos has had to learn the system and how well he did in preseason I would be tempted to give him the nod over Lavia. Caicedo though should defo slot in right away.
  5. In my post I literally said he’s the only one that’s a serious goal threat, I’m not questioning him at all I think he’s amazing and going to do great for us. It’s just not fair to put all the burden on him which with Nkunku out it mostly is now.
  6. Looking forward to seeing a completely unleashed Enzo. Hope he appreciates what the club has done for him! Almost got into a fist fight to get him here and then we cucked TF out of Liverpool to get him the midfield partners he needs. Big bet on this lad but with great odds! What's amazing is he could still grow a lot, if he can add goals to his game (and with his technique why not?) he could genuinely be the best CM of the next 10 years and one of the all time greats.
  7. I mean I like to think what our club is doing is being done by a lot of clever, highly paid people that know more than we do - but this guys explanation is pretty dodge, doesn't know the difference between a balance sheet and a P&L and his numbers are all over the place, and didn't he bankrupt the club he was running? Nevertheless I am feeling relaxed. I think if we get back into CL and continue to produce and sell academy players then we'll be absolutely fine, and I assume the club is assuming the youth they've bought this year is selling for a profit in the next windows too.
  8. Also, is there a greater example of cuckoldry than what we have just done to Liverpool? Dissolve the club and leave Merseyside to Everton.
  9. Perhaps with Lavia joining, in possession we'll use either the 3-2-5 (which we used in preseason always) or 3-1-6 (which we debuted vs Liverpool) with Caicedo either being in the 2 or the 6 something like this with Nkunku replacing Gallagher when fit. James Disasi Colwill Lavia Sterling Caicedo Gallagher Jackson Enzo Chilwell
  10. I am excited but I don't agree with all of this talk that we're sorting things for a decade. Some of these players wont work out (injuries, turn out to be not good enough, or just their level drops after a while as they become a bit too comfortable with their success) and we'll have to do more CM business inside of 5-6 years imo. That does not mean that we have not done something absolutely phenomenal in terms of squad rebuild, never seen anything like this in my life - when City did it they didn't have the clout / reputation to get everybody they wanted and they had to get people by offering everyone 300k a week. I am still concerned that we do not have enough goals in our team and we might get a LOT of frustrating draws.
  11. I think the argument for Lavia has to be that Caicedo is so good as an 8 that he's a little wasted as a DM (you know, the same argument about Enzo playing there), in which case a DM would unleash them both to play as 8s which would be quite a terrifying prospect for opponents. If Caicedo is going to play as a DM and we're looking for another midfielder, I'd be more interested in K. Thuram than Lavia - a lovely Kovacic replacement who is conveniently 6ft4 and we could use the height for sure.
  12. BTW honestly don't think Brighton deserve any hate for the way they've handled this whole situation, the fans admittedly have been obnoxious and kind of naive / stupid throughout but the club itself did what it had to do to get the right deal for them, fair play TBH. I would still do business with them in the future. Just have to hope that players who go there insist on buy out clauses to make it less painful.
  13. Just not got enough killers at the moment, NJ basically our only goal threat in the forward line - Sterling & Carney his support... Without Nkunku we just do not have enough goals in the forward lineup. Enzo, Caicedo, Sterling and Carney have not got a goal in them - Sterling had a few in him in the old days, but he's washed. Nicolas Jackson and our defenders basically have to carry the goal output burden, unless some of our other forwards step up (Mudryk) or we sign someone.
  14. If Cucu has an amazing season at Newcastle maybe we can sell him for £50m next year. Don't really see any way out of this Cucu situation otherwise, other than keeping him as a squad option until he retires.
  15. Hilarious how rival fans keep saying that no one would choose Chelsea, it genuinely is the most interesting & exciting project in football atm if you're up and coming but not yet completely world class: great manager, great attacking/progressive football, multi club model for loans with guaranteed football if you're not Chelsea-ready, ambitious long term plans, great directors of football doing some really exciting squad building, tonnes of money behind the project, we churn out the most premier league players of any club, and we have been extremely successful over the last 20 years. I can understand people picking City over us due to basically guaranteed immediate trophies, but only if they are already world class and slot into that lineup guaranteed. Otherwise, we are the better pick pretty much always fmpov.
  16. No DM is going to fix Liverpool based on yesterday, tactically Klopp looks like a dinosaur now with the progression that has happened in the last couple of years in the league in terms of the standards for tactics / strategy from managers, he is still trying to flog the same compact 4-3-3 he's played since forever with the only modernisation I could see was an attempt for Trent to play inverted. Salah's ridiculous level is the only thing holding the system (almost) together. Was very noticeable how they could barely get their famous press going at all for most of the game, because strategically we made it almost impossible to do effectively.
  17. Lavia ONLY if we are changing formation to 3 CMs honestly much better uses for the money otherwise given we’ve got Santos + Ugo and feel lacking a goal scorer with Nkunku out.
  18. Enzo and Caicedo playing as 8s in front of a DM would be sexy AF in Nkunkus absence
  19. We absolutely dominated them you know they’re shit scared for the season now, don’t even look a top 6 outfit after that, absolutely stole a result
  20. Quality performance, could tell they were worried about him. Shame we didn’t have Nkunku honestly would have won this 3-1 with him on the field
  21. He was there several times to save if it was on target with his massive wingspan, caught everything and didn’t just spam punches like Kepa, setup what should have been a goal towards the end But ok let’s just hate on him for no reason and be negative about the most exciting GK improvement we’ve seen since Mendy arrived
  22. Team look a little too content with a draw, in the old days we would NEVER, got to sniff the weakness and find a win here. still happy and proud we got a draw given circumstances, but Poch needs to work on their mentality which is ok, it will take time for this young group to peak and I’m loving the journey well done lads, well done Poch, well done Winstanley + Stewart!
