Carney dreadful start, the most puzzling choice for me
-
Eh, depends on the players in the formation not the formation itself, very good ball playing / attacking CBs out there and we attack in a 3-2-5 when we defend in a 4-2-3-1 so not really sure it’s any more or less ‘cowardly’ but ok
-
It will still be a 3-2-5 in attack I would guess just a different shape in defense. Not sure it’s a big news tbh aside from the personnel on the pitch. If Mudryk is on at least I’d have a constant hope that he’s about to grab the ball and do something. Pretty much the only exciting attacking player on the pitch is NJ, followed by Chilly and Reece.
-
Agreed, the players have also changed SO much we shouldn’t judge anything until we see it. Maybe this group is insane in a 3 ATB.
-
Let’s see how they line up, maybe a defender is playing in midfield and it’s still 4ATB
-
Well I'm pretty bored of the whole Caicedo situation. But I'm mostly just nervous for this game. Losing Nkunku was a big drop in quality, thought we were favourites when he was fit, now I'm not sure.
-
Somewhat looking forward to, somewhat dreading seeing the lineup.
-
I think it is clear most of the leaking comes from the agents, perhaps pressure from the clubs & players has silenced them? It was getting pretty ugly for all involved. Maybe both clubs threatened to walk away unless they shut their mouths?
-
Exactly, this narrative is naive IMO, if we bid £100m early on in the window then to Bloom that is 100% proof the lad is worth £120m, £130m, etc.
-
Is there obligation to buy?
-
I love how salty and desperate they are LMAO making the whole transfer window for me
-
Lavia deal feels like agent pushing Liverpool to bid enough to get it done. Would be hilarious if we got both though. Personally if we are getting Caicedo I’d be happy to keep Ugo and Santos and use that 52-55m elsewhere.
-
Personally the most believable story here is that Adams’ medical showed up he needs another 4 months of recovery, as some source on twitter posted. After that the subsequent panic for this double purchase begins to make sense, if we do indeed get both (I’m still kind of confused why we would want both unless we are moving to 4-3-3)

He writes in the comments he’s sure our wages have barely improved and we are all dreaming if we think the players who are joining are agreeing much lower wages than those leaving. Guess he has an agenda. Am curious to see something written by someone with actual assumptions and numbers in table form included, this guy is just making bold statements with out showing his working.
-
Wonder what Bloom will do with all the cash? Have a feeling he will probably pocket most of the profit for himself and reinvest <£25m...
-
Why can't it all just be over?
-
Ah man, this saga is tedious and I was pretty glad earlier that it was all over even if not in our favour. I have been saying it all summer: this sort of money for a DM is madness. Harry Kane going for less, one of the greatest ever goal scorers in the Premier League. Madness.
-
Feel like we should last minute bid £100m for Kane, how he is selling for £86m is beyond me
-
Guess I am alone in not wanting us to spend £120m on an excellent DM then... When did defensive midfielders become the most valuable position on the pitch? Just bizarre to me.
-
Man can't score to save his life, but he is a good player so would expect him to have a good game if they rush him in the lineup. Feels a little too late for him to play tbh - had been thinking if he joined us he probably wouldn't at this stage.
-
What’s the new CM shortlist looking like? And are we going for another GK if Kepa is off? With Nkunku injured does make me think we need another striker too. We are now dependent on Jackson a little TOO much going into the season no?
-
If we offered 100m weeks ago probably it gets rejected because hey if we offer 100 we can offer 110 right? And if we bid 110 we can offer 115 right? Should have just not dealt with Bloom over it in the first place. Liverpool going for a transfer record, big gamble, fair play to them - good player, enjoy him, better hope he doesn’t get injured given you’ve blown your entire wad on him and don’t have money to replace.
-
Still think it’s all PR / negotiation / gamesmanship. He is coming to us.
-
Reported by some people as rejected yes, given it is so close to the £50m (supposed) asking price I would have expected they would - surely a couple of extra mil is ground we'll cover if we want him.

Matt Law knows what he's done. Fraud.
