UEFA YOUTH LEAGUE VENUE CHANGE Posted on: Wed 11 Sep 2013 The Chelsea Under-19 team's away fixture in Romania in the new UEFA Youth League will be played in a different stadium from the one first announced. The match against Steaua Bucharest will now be played at Mogoşoaia Stadium, which is part of the National Football Centre in Mogoșoaia, and holds 1,000 spectators. Mogoșoaia is just outside Bucharest. The address is: Centrul Naţional de Fotbal, Strada Motocului, nr. 3 Zip code:77135 City: Mogoşoaia The game is on the same day as the first teams of the two clubs meet in the Champions League, Tuesday 1 October, with the Youth League game kicking-off at 12 noon.
  7. Chelsea Select UEFA Youth League Squad Scottish sensation Islam Feruz was impressive for Chelsea throughout the NextGen Series last year. Chelsea have named a very strong squad for their inaugural UEFA Youth League campaign. Lewis Baker, Nathan Ake, Islam Feruz and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are all increasingly becoming household names and have been named in the under 19 squad. Feruz has been particularly impressive since joining the London club from Celtic over two years ago now. The 17-year-old has played for Scotland at every youth level, most recently making his debut for the under 21 side where he has now racked up four appearances and netted twice. He made his first-team debut for the Blues pre-season against a Malaysia XI side. He was also the joint topscorer in last season’s NextGen Series competition, meaning any defence should fear the young Scotsman in this competition. Chelsea will play Schalke, Basel and Steaua Bucharest in the group stage. Full Squad: (from @ChelseaYouth) Mitchell Beeney, Ben Killip, Ola Aina, Nathan Ake, George Brady, Andreas Christensen, Dion Conroy, Fankaty Dabo, Jordan Houghton, Jonathan Muleba, Kevin Wright, Charley Musonda, Lewis Baker, George Cole, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Isak Ssewankambo, John Swift, Kasey Palmer, Islam Feruz.

  10. Willian: Chelsea set to sign Tottenham target for £30mBy David Ornstein BBC Sport Chelsea have agreed a £30m deal to sign attacking midfielder Willian from Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala, subject to a work permit hearing. The 25-year-old Brazilian was close to joining Tottenham after having a medical on Wednesday. But it is understood Chelsea made their move at around 18:00 BST on Thursday, with a fee and personal terms agreed within 24 hours. Willian will have a medical before his work permit hearing next week.
  11. Samuel Eto'o will be forced to take a £250,00 a week cut in wages if he wants to join former boss Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge. Mourinho is considering a reunion with his former Inter Milan striker who has been told to find a new club by Russian club Anzhi. Eto'o has been the world's highest paid footballer on an astonishing £350,000 a week with his current outfit but owner Suleyman Kerimov, in one of the most dramatic fire sales ever ,has put everybody up for sale. Mourinho is considering a move for the 32-year-old seeing him as a player who can drive the club forward for a year when striker Wayne Rooney - with just a year left on his contract - may be in a different position at Manchester United. However, there is no chance of a second Russian oligarch - Roman Abramovich - paying him anything near his current wage and with Financial Fair Play regulations kicking in has made it clear that £100,000 will be his top offer. Mourinho has set his heart on eventually signing Rooney be it this summer or next and doesn't want to lock himself into a three or four year contract with anyone else. So he sees a one year Eto'o contract with a year option on that as a short term answer to the current dilemma. Eto'o, commenting on the record regarding possible Chelsea interest, said on Wednesday: "There is only one Jose Mourinho. I have played under a lot of great coaches - but there is no other character in the game like Jose," Liverpool are also watching the situation.
