I agree he is top talent, but he needs to make most of his play time. Obviously its not ideal for him, being out of position in wrecking team but he needs to step up. He needs to pick up mentaly and step up as one of the leaders in this team because we lack them. Its great opportunity for him. I think he would be next Van Dijk in Pool side for example. He just needs to show he wants to be here, fight for team and do the best he can.

Caicedo looked the part, talented, quality, etc. But not for 120m. Never worth 120m. Not singe midfelder is unless we talk about Xavis, Lampards, Modric, Kante level. And NEITHER of those still ever cost that. Zidane, Bellingham were expensive but they score and save games on their own. Caicedo is just like any other you mentioned, a part of the midfield, a cog. Quality one, but still not one to win/save you games. We should simply walk away from these players who cost fortunes. Kepa, Fofana, Mudryk, Caicedo, Morata, etc etc etc all can be found elsewhere. Unless you can get Mbappe or Bellingham you dont overpay. Even Arsenal getting Rice isnt the answer, its not just us. Look at most expensive players in the world, most flopped. There is maybe one player we can get that is worth 100m and thats Osimhen. And even then, if the scouts did their job, they would find alternative like Santiago Gimenez, Gyokeres or whoever they think will fit this team. Hopefuly the board learned their lesson.

Pretty much like with signings, we should target only the best that we can get, not every snowflake out there. Gvardiol instead of Fofana, proven CM instead of Lavia, proven winger instead of Palmer, proven GK instead of Sanchez etc. Nagelsmann should be "get him at any cost" target. Poch has always been questionable results wise, but at least he should play attacking football, which is failing miserably atm. Dont know what happens to all our attacking ability, from forwards to manager. Its like they lose all their understanding of attacking once they join us. But its also true, results come when you have defensive stability. I guess they crumble under pressure. I bet most players that suck attack wise here, would shine elsewhere in established systems or projects with actual understanding and goal.

Chilly and James are best deployed as wingbacks and when they are fit and inform, they are our best or at least most important players and have been for a while. So it makes sense to try bring players for 3atb formation. But James is regulary injured so it makes wonder if we want to do that or pick a system that suits rest of the team. Anyway this rebuild always had to take time and we have to be patient, players will make mistakes, Poch will need to know the team etc but we need consistency there. However one thing that is pathetic 100% is that we still play like this with over 1BN spent. There is zero excuse on board for overspending, overpaying and bringing alot of shi*e in the club. Getting rid of Kepa and bringing Sanchez is just one example. Board has a goal, just a very bad one. One thing is transition period, so we obviously wont win title for next 2 years, but losing to relegation fodder at home while splashing 1bn is something else. At this rate we wont be in CL next year, two years in row which will likely bring a dark era, like Arse, Pool, United had/have.
