The problem is next season when Rudiger, Christensen, Azpi and Silva's contracts finish. We will be left with Zouma and Ampadu with no planning. A CB around Christensen's age, e.g. Romagnoli, would set us up in that position for a while. I think we have more pressing matters, and letting someone like Ampadu play 5th or 6th CB isn't the worst idea, even if Zouma is sold. Tuchel seems to spot player talent better than Lampard and I'm guessing a full preseason will allow him to see what we have. I think we might see one or two surprises a la Moses under Conte.

We don't need an overhaul. We need to cut our wage list and wait for the right targets. We can promote academy players to cover, like we're doing with Broja. If we fail to get a RWB, Livramento is going to be our backup. The club is playing it smart and prioritising players who can fit in and who want to come here. Hakimi wanted to go to Paris and Haaland probably wants to use us as a stepping stone to Madrid. I think our priority, other than CF, is a playmaker as Hazard and Fabregas creativity has not been replaced and even if Hakim comes good, we need more players that can pick a pass.

Adama for 20-25m is acceptable. I think trimming the squad, especially the dregs. In all reality, we signed Werner and Havertz for more than 100m last summer. We can wait for the right targets like Liverpool did. I think the board is wary of buying squad players with so many on the wage bill.

Why Grealish? We are stocked up in winger spots and I can't see him doing well in CM.

I rate him as a winger/SS but he's not what we need.

I don't rate Isak that much. He's decent but he's not a beast a la Drogba, which is exactly what Haaland is. Cech might be in for Schick as a backup. I don't really rate any of the other alternatives. We need a striker to lead the press, link up in deeper areas and be clinical when presented a lot of chances.

I've liked his passing. His distribution is better than Kante. England have relied on him and I would prefer him to grealish or rice.

The board have identified two solid targets in Hakimi and Haaland. It doesn't mean we will get Haaland over the line this summer but we will be in pole position next year if we don't. We need GK2 and GK3, as well as CF2 and a CM and MAYBE a CB. LF2 if Alonso is used to get Hakimi or CB if Christensen goes.
