Outclassed by Wenger again.

Now I can finally leave the office. 45 minutes later.

Really interesting that people keep acting like Conte is a poor bloke because the board is not buying the players he deserves. I think a lot of people still underestimate the impact Consta had on the overall quality of this squad, and underestimate how stupid Conte was to kick Costa's ass when the best replacements available were Lukaku and Morata. Its crazy that some people believe that someone who do such a thing deserves more control on the transfer market.
-
Interesting that there is a guy who thought Lukaku or Morata would be a better option that the best CF of PL in last 3 years...right now this guys is the current manager.
-
I think the big question right now is: will Conte survive until Barcelona clash at the end of february? He is pretty much 2 or 3 bad results away from the sack.
-
Day after day Conte is showing he is not that different from Mourinho. After the Premier League glory he showed his true colors. Creating crisis during the off season: check. Using the same formation game after game: check Starting war of words against other managers: check.
-
Conte 2017 version is easily the most boring, unexcinting and infuriating manager ever. Only Barcelona clash can save his conservative ass and his last century tactics.
-
Conte biggest test will be his game against Barcelona. Anyway, I've heard somewhere that Conte is not really that different from Mourinho, even though we don't like to admit it. This season I'm pretty convinced about that. Conte is what Mourinho is today. Good but predictable manager in terms of tactics, and creating unnecessary controversies off the pitch. Someone else is needed next season.

Abramovich is the team is the who brought Chelsea to another level. You are too late mate.
-
I hope Conte leaves at the end of this season. The team isn't going nowhere as long as he is the manager. He was the right man to bring stability back, but he is not he man to bring the team to the next level.
-
There is no better heading player in the world than Morata. I think he is even better than Ronaldo in this aspect. His goal against United was easily one of the best header goals I've ever seen.
-
Great. Even after a big win against United semehow we manage to create another crisis.
-
People still using the excuse of players lacking motivation. At this point I dont how some people still dont realize Conte is easily the most one dimensional manager of Abramovich era. He is a one trick manager. When it works, it works, but when things are not going well, after 15 minutes into the game we know the outcome of the match. He relies on his 3CB system, and people already realized how to stop it. Not a surprise an italian side outclassed Conte in 2 games in a row. In Italy Contes tactics are old story.
-
Its been ages since Liverpool won the Premier League. Since Roman bought Chelsea, its the most successful club in the league, so the demands and expectations are different. Not to mention Conte himself was the man that created the crisis even before the first game of the season was played: he was the one the created Costa situation, he was the one the spread the rumores about being unhappy (at least he never denied them in a convincing way), he was the one demanding more players in press conferences, he was the one clearly unhappy that Matic was sold (instead of praising Bakayoko). In terms of relation with the press Conte is easily the most stupid Chelsea coach of Abramovich era.
-
Indeed. He decided to let one of the best strikers in Europe leave to bring Llorente as replacement. Very wise indeed.
-
Ranieri also won a Premier League and he managed that with Leicester. Conte is actually an ultra limited manager in terms of tactics.
-
Conte won't survive the entire season. Same old story.
-
Embarrassing performance from the players and specially from the coach.
-
Dear Conte, just leave already.
-
This forum is way too lenient with managers. Okay, the squad is not as good as could be, but Conte is not doing his homework. At this point its pretty clear he a one trick manager, and he relies on 3CB formation. He just doesn't have a plan B. With very few exceptions, after 20 minutes of the game we know how the rest of the game will unfold. It means if the team start the game playing really bad, the team will keep playing bad until the final whistle. Conte is good, but not a genius. Its really weird that people in this forum are mad because he didn't sign a contract extension yet when still got two more seasons left.
-
5. Predictability Chelsea's 3-4-2-1 formation stunned the Premier League last season and over the past year nearly every side in the division have trialled the system at one point or another. Conte changed the way managers think but now English football is used to the formation and Chelsea are struggling for a Plan B. Does Conte have another trick up his sleeve to change matters up? It may be that the system yields more success in Europe, where more clubs are unfamiliar with the benefits of the formation.
-
Conte is not a tactical genius and definetely not the kind of material is worth more than 2 or 3 seasons at the same club. I just hope he can produce a good UCL run this season.
-
I think some people underestimate the impact of Azpi and Luiz in Conte's 3CB system. Both players are really good with the ball on their feet. When the team is under pressure they can cope well with the situation, and both can even create attacking opportunities out of nowhere. Even playing as CB we saw many times Azpi producing assists, and Luiz can also build attacking situations. In game against Atletico Luiz put Morata in front of the goal in 1st half, and he was the one that found Hazard in the left wing before the Belgian assisted Morata to the equalizer, not to Mention Luiz was the one that received the foul that resulte the last minute goal. When Conte deployed Azpi to the right wing the team was essentially fucked. Rudiger and Cristensens are good CB, the with Cahill the team was left with a very heavy and non dynamic back 3, and lost the pace and physical power of Moses in the tight side of the pitch. I think Conte worst decision against City was his 3CB choice.

Indeed. The message giving him more years than the two he has left in his contract was an insane Idea.
