Im struggling to muster up the optimism where a positive result could be on the cards. Can see us having a lot of possession and squandering chances and being hit on the break a couple of times. Lets hope the boys make me EAT MY THOUGHTS

As a huge Chelsea and PL fan I always find that International breaks always come at the most inconvinient times in the season. However, perhaps this break will give the likes of Pulisic and Ziyech extra time to get back to full health and into the squad. Come on you Blues.

I believe the Reese can be a top RB for Chelsea in the future. Other full-backs that are considered great are usually accompanied by dominant CB's and a top quality DM, this affords them the ability to get forward and also helps them get organized. If John Terry was still a CB for Chelsea I would imagine that half of the mistakes that happen at the back wouldn't simply because of his communication and organization skills. We lack that at the back currently which I believe is why we shut off at times. John would be on your arse for 90 minutes holding the whole back line accountable. It's rare that we see that from our guys now, mostly we get the palms to the sky look or a quick clap.

If I remember rightly Frank was 23 when he came to Chelsea from West Ham. It took him a couple of years to really kick on and score double digit premier league goals. If Mason keeps up this level of work he will start to kick on, just like Frank but in a different way. One thing, it is hard to coach work rate and Mason has that which is why he will be a special player for the blues and most likely why Frank loves him. I do however think that once we get Pullisic and Ziyech back that Mount might be most effective as an LCM. Could you imagine the midfield engine with Kante and Mount in the middle of the park. Thats got work rate written all over it.

Lighten up mate.

Callum will only go as far as his attitude will take him. Right now he strikes me as too cool, he needs to get pissed and go take a spot in the team, not cry and want to go to Bayern. I will say, it seems silly for Lampard to play a top 3 with Havertz as a false 9 and Werner and Mount on the wing. Why not play Havertz in the 10 role with CHO and Mount on the wing and Werner up top. FL does need to stop reinventing the wheel and put players in positions to be successful. If it doesn't work early in a game then do a Mourinho and pull one off after 16 minutes to change shape.

A little worried about Ruben. I am fearing as the time goes by that he may end up becoming one of those who just didnt quite get there. Is he more a big fish in a small pond guy (a mid to lower table team)?, or can he make that jump to the top level and produce consistently. Im not sure, the jury is still out. Getting worried about his development at this point.

Is this an official production from Chelsea FC or fan made content?

Whoopsie. Not the best time to be quarantined. Chelsea going bonkers in the transfer market and you are off on your hols to a hotspot. Now you have to sit out of training, pre-season training as well. Better hope that some of the new boys don't take the pre-season by storm and lose your spot because you went Greece.

Would love to see him lined up with Kante in a lower midfield block allowing the likes of Ziyech, Mount, CHO, Pulisic, RLC, etc the reigns to do what they do best (attack).

Hold on to Kepa for another season. Invest in a LB and a CB and see what the man can do behind a more organized and consistent back line. All of our defenders have some great qualities but my goodness they are so erratic at times and seem to lack concentration for the full 90 minutes. I wonder if being asked to "play out the back" overloads their brain and causes them to make some of the mistakes they do? Maybe Kepa will grow 2-4 inches during the off-season (wishing on a star).

Agreed, and Lampard seems gung ho as far as turning Mount into a Chelsea legend. Mount is the type of player a team needs, he reminds me of an old school grafter like Ray Parlour. Not flashy, but will work the midfield all game, put his body about, and come up with the odd goal/assist. I also don't think that Mount is the type of personality who will let Lampard drop him just because he brought in some big names. Can see Lamps tweaking formations to accommodate Mount in the coming seasons.

REALLY needs to crack on. I know he is post injury (and a big one at that), but with the potential of losing Willian and Pedro already gone it would be fantastic is CHO could play a Pedro role or more in terms of playing time this next season. Big season for him next year. Forget a summer vacation, crack on mate.

I know Frank would never go for this suggestion but what he should do is slide over a nice bottle of vino to Klopps place and ask him how his u18 team plans to line up against Chelsea next week?
-
Poor all day really. We never looked like scoring all game. Credit to Sheffield Utd, tough team to break down when they sit 5 at the back with our possession. Frank said it right "they were better than us in every way". Champions League looks like a long shot, lets hope for a favorable ruling on Monday. I'd start Giroud the rest of the way. Tammy just looks lost, to be honest I am not sure he should be a Chelsea striker for much longer. Jorginho is a lost puppy in a physical game, multiple times he was out battled in the middle. Forget Havertz we need a LB and a CB desperately. I think Rudiger can be useful but he needs a top quality CB next to him to cancel out his erraticism at times. CHO and RLC have looked shells of themselves since returning. RLC was very flat footed when he came on in a game that he should have been desperate to make a difference since the starting 11 forgot to show up today. Understandable to some degree but still not up to standard. Fingers crossed for some help from the other teams regarding CL qualification. Still love CFC. KTBFFH

I love Tammy, I think he could easily bag 12-15 goals a season in the right role. Not convinced on him being the main number 9 but to be honest Willian/Pedro/Cho. even Puli are not really dishing out a million assists a year. I just think he needs to improve his composure, some of what I see is so damn clumsy all the time lol. Come on Tammy. Finish the season strong.

We REALLY need to capitalize on Leicester's slow start to the remainder of the season. Would be great to take some points off of City and rob the foxes of 3rd place and their left-back at the end of the season.
-
Great news. I think his energy will be crucial during these last few games. Much like Willian, its the perfect time for him to move on. He has been a great player for us and always worked hard for the cause.
-
Will genuinely be sad to see Willian leave Chelsea. It's the right time for him to move on as we move into a younger generation. What a wonderful servant to the club. TBH I hope he doesnt find his way to another Premier League club, still lethal with the ball at his feet. Seems to have a knack for carving out 2-3 opportunities a game. Class lad. Cheers Willian

300 million needed to spent this summer. Im not sure I can name one chelsea player who gets into the Bayern team on a regular basis. Kante when healthy. Outside of that no one. Lampard needs work but for me the team we are putting out tonight deserves to be 3-0 down. We aren't talented enough and we don't play hard enough to overcome our lack of talent.

Hi Team, I currently live in Seattle, USA and am making an impromptu trip to the mother land in March. It just so happens that Chelsea play Man City while we are there. Just wandering if anyone has any tickets they would like to sell for the match? Long shot but thought I would dangle a carrot.

Still 7 days Love the Three Lions but come on. GIVE ME THE PREM BACK.
-
Behave. CHO will be fine. He just recovered from an achilles injury. Sat on a bench for 80 minutes. Cant expect him to have a beast of game when I am sure his instructions were to stay compact and be opportunistic. He has had games this year where he has looked great. Give him some time.
-
Disappointing result thats for sure. Never want to lose to Utd. I knew when I saw the team sheets it was going to be tricky. The Chelsea team sheet is exactly what a lot of us were calling for, youth, fresh legs, faces etc. The UTD team sheet was a team put out by an under fire manager who needs to win the Carabao Cup to soften the blow of finishing 8th in the table this year. I would gladly substitute a 1/4 final Champions League run, FA Cup run, and a top 4 premier league position right now for a 1/4 final Carabao Cup berth.

Absolutely cant wait to see what Football Manager 2020 says about this years Chelsea team and the quality of our academy. Always thought that the game did no justice to the few academy's in world football that churn out top prospects. In FM, maybe 1 out of 50 youngsters from an academy becomes a good player. We are seeing right now that we have a group of talented youngsters right here in London. Sounds as though FM 2020 is going to make some tweaks to player development and the nurturing of younger prospects. Will be interesting to see what happens with the academy and how the likes of CHO, Pulisic, Abraham, Mount, James etc get rated. Anyway. UP THE CHELS
