That's not how it works in real life is it though? Goals change games completely. This stat ignores the many times he's got the opening goal in a game or the times he's killed off a game. It also ignores the fact that the 8th place team finished on 46 points, while Everton finished on 61, giving you a leeway of about 15 points. It's a completely irrelevant, lazy stat that's just been making the rounds on Twitter lazily.

Please stop this narrative man. That Morata guy has played for two of the best teams in the last decade - Zidane's Madrid and Allegri's Juve. Lukaku has played for WBA and Everton, its not a fair comparison. If Romelu does land, CFC is the first big club he's ever been at (let's not count his first spell here).

I agree with most of your post - I just think there are better CBs available at VVDs price. For example - Romagnoli, Bonucci, Laporte would all be better purchases. But that's for another thread. I think I'd rather give Christensen a chance - he's just like a new signing essentially. If he wasn't owned by Chelsea he would've been snapped up by one of the other big clubs by now. He's got a fan in Pep for example.

There was enough time for any sub to change the flow of the game. Juve score and make it 3-2 and its anyone's game. Cuadrado was brought on as fresh legs to stimulate the attack, but he did the complete opposite, and even ended up getting himself sent off in almost less than 10 minutes. Sure, it shouldn't have been a red card, but he was a liability for Juve even if he was on for a few minutes. Not good in a CL final.

If we sell Matic and Bakayoko and Tolisso are signed, Kante's spot in the 11 is under threat quite a bit. Tolisso - Bakayoko might even be a better fit in the 343 system.

Hazard - Costa - Martial. Play Martial in that Pedro role. He has all the attributes - good off the ball movement, good dribbler, technically good, great finisher, great speed and acceleration. Martial would be too left field of a signing for Chelsea though, we'd never be that creative/intuitive to buy in Martial to play in Pedro's role. The number 9 shirt (his brand which got swooped by Ibra) is available too.

Would be a decent signing if the price was lower and we didn't have squad fillers like Willian and Pedro already. Otherwise, no real improvement.

The goal is always to win, but I don't see how people think playing nice football correlates to less chances of winning stuff. Ajax lost because of a lack of experience. United's goals weren't a result of the breakdown of the system. They scored from a set piece and a deflected long shot. Ajax's team lacked the experience in decision making in the final third. If Ajax had one or two more experienced, talented guys in midfield and up front, it could've been a different result. They didn't lose because of totaalvoetbal.

Silva will be trained as a CM to replace David Silva I think. This signinng is unimportant as long as we manage to sign a top player in Bernardo's position. City actually haven't improved their team yet. They weren't lacking in creativity or anything like that at all.
