Costa for Romagnoli would be amazing.
-
Yes! This is what I'm trying to make you understand - in Conte's system, we need lots of goals from our CF, more so than some one who's good at linking up play. Lukaku isn't even a black hole compared to Costa either, he doesn't lose the ball nearly as often enough. Lukaku has 7 assists this season...
-
The percentages are not deceitful. The point of the post imo is that in the Morata v Lukaku debate, the "Lukaku struggles to score against better teams" argument, pretending as if Morata is consistently outstanding in them, can't really be used as a sound argument.
-
Lukaku is the better striker.

Emenalo abuse needs to stop. He isn't a negotiator or final decision maker. Literally, his job is to find players and oversee the academy. He's a glorified scout, essentially heads the scouting team. He alone doesn't make the final decision on who we purchase, he works with the manager and the rest of the board to decide. Our transfer policy doesn't just come down to one person.

50m euros (£42m) for Sandro is well worth it, but doubt it true.
-
How can we keep it on the low when Costa is the one that's going out there saying these things? It's not Chelsea, it's not Conte, not emenalo or Roman or whoever you fancy coming out with this stuff. Again, why are you defending Costa so much? The only person that's been whoring himself about is Diego. The club don't control his mouth. How you can blame the club instead of Diego is incredible to me.
-
You've got to be kidding me. Embarrassing? You know what's really embarrassing? You're basically okay with Diego holding the club at ransom... he clearly doesn't want to be here, why do you continue to defend him like this? FYI, Diego hasn't been that good in big games since 14/15. Stop acting like he's amazing in them.

Lukaku in Costa out was always a foregone conclusion I guess. Thank you Antonio for putting your foot down.
-
Just to reiterate, you think buying Morata will instantly help us become a better team and take Eden to the next level? Not the fact that the team has several weaknesses? You think all Lukaku has to his game is "outmuscling opponents"?
-
Did you not see @pHaRaOn's post earlier? Lukaku scores more against better teams than Morata so that argument is dead. Also quite ridiculous how you think we can't play nice football with Lukaku. I thought you hated the notion of totaalvoetbal and its likes, but now you're trying to use it to justify your argument? Can't have it both ways. You genuinely think Morata is the key to "dominating, nice football"? Really? You really need to stop making Morata sound like some prime Bergkamp, he's nowhere near as skilled. He's not that good in tight spaces, and it's nowhere near as important for a striker to be excellent in tight spaces compared to a midfielder. The Modric - Fabregas analogy is flawed in its premise. Just in case you missed it: Lukaku' goals in Premier League (WBA + Everton): Top 4: 12 (14,2%) 5-10: 26 (30,6%) 11-16: 24 (28,2%) Bottom 4: 23 (27%) Morata' goals in Serie A (Juventus) + La Liga (Real Madrid): Top 4: 1 (2,5%) 5-10: 13 (32,5%) 11-16: 12 (30%) Bottom 4: 14 (35%)

Lukaku > Morata though. Bakayoko is just as big of a talent as Tolisso too. Not sure what's so bad about this. Also, how on earth do you know who's first or second choice? You got Roman and Conte's ear?
-
Liverpool might quietly pull off an outstanding window. Linked heavily with VVD, Keïta and Gelson Martins. That would truly be amazing. They still need a GK and LB though. If they manage however, they'll be an immense team next season.
-
So you're saying Lukaku is still the same player from about 3/4 years ago and that his game hasn't matured at all essentially? People do the most when it comes to Romelu. All this hate is incredibly irrational imo.
-
Real Madrid want 90M euros for Morata: Would anyone actually pay that for him?
-
You should read this thread and the Lukaku thread to get updated.

Favourite CFC picture of the Abramovich era.
-
Lukaku, Tolisso, Semedo, Sanchez. Now that would be a window and a half. I think this is my ideal.
-
He's just been properly linked with United today (Jose is the one who gave Morata his chance tbh), but all reports before had him going to Milan on a 60m euros deal. We'll see - apparently Milan are moving on to Costa which is quite interesting.
-
The main reason Real bought Morata was because they want to make cash from him. He was never part of the long term project there. Doesn't matter if Morata wanted to go back or not, clearly not wanted there.
-
Why do you think Belotti is better than Lukaku btw? Why is he? What does he do better? I want to hear some opinions on this. I wouldn't mind the club signing Belotti btw.
-
I think @Chelsea Legend 11 is talking about right now, not the past. I highlighted this earlier - why aren't the likes of PSG, United, City, Arsenal truly after Morata? Why is he going to AC Milan if he's so in demand and a top striker? Why are Chelsea and United more interested in Lukaku if Morata was the one we should be all looking at?
-
Eh... Everton didn't sit back as much under Martinez but they weren't exactly better than what they are now. You do realise the guy is still young right? People are acting like he's in the prime of his career and has failed to score in important games. Everton are much better now under Koeman overall than they are under Martinez too - their squad is much better and way more mature than what Martinez was dealing with... Also Koeman is just a better manager. Their big game approach this season is very defensive though - which is what I was highlighting. But whatever, it's your opinion. I wouldn't mind Belotti either fyi. You think the club should pay Belotti's release club?
-
No one has said otherwise?
-
There isn't enough evidence for that. Ian Wright explains excellently here why Lukaku doesn't score much against big teams (starts at 14:30): Now, what I would like to see from you is all these big chances that Romelu misses against big teams, when he rarely gets the opportunities to score in these games. I've seen a recurring theme from Everton in big games - they sit back far too much and literally take no initiative in the game. Their record against the top 6 is poor this season, and you can quite easily see why Romelu struggles there.
