  1. My point proved - you can't really use a Google search to proclaim that Sturridge frequently "complains" about not playing upfront.
  2. At a decent price why not get Bent in as a back up striker? I'm not saying we should buy him to become our number 1 striker - don't know why it's so funny to you.
  3. Exactly for the reasons you've stated. Bent is currently having a row with his manager at Villa and is not being played due to Benteke's good form (ideally if I was Paul Lambert I'd play both) so he would come at a relatively cheap price. Putting him in the Defoe level bracket is just about right too - that's not a bad thing however. Since we've currently only got Sturridge and Torres as our strikers and we look a little bit light upfront (especially as Sturridge seems to be going now) Darren Bent would be an ideal addition to the squad. He's English (would replace Sturrridge as a HG), he's got a knack for scoring goals, he's a pretty big unit but still has very decent pace - and his price wouldn't be that excessive. If we could get him in for around £10m it would be good business by the club but I doubt the club are that sensible.
  4. I genuinely think an on form Sturridge is better than Walcott.
  5. The bookies know as much as we do, wouldn't go on their odds at all. Doesn't anyone remember Harry Redknapp being odds on favourite to be CFC manager before AVB came in?
  6. This imaginary attitude that Sturridge has isn't what has prevented him from the CF spot this season. It's his injuries. Also, how many times has Danny come out to say he wants to play CF? Don't act like its every interview - it's usually the press asking him the same question, not him screaming every week that he wants to play upfront. Plus to say that all Sturridge has done is "hog the ball and do nothing" is a bit over the top and mainstream, I'm sure you know better than that Ryan, you have pretty good football knowledge. He's started twice this season only and has only come on for the last 10 minutes in most games. It's hard to judge someone fairly on that basis. It'll be a good move for him in my opinion, just a shame it couldn't work out here if true.
  7. Mata is 24 and its his second season in the EPL. Who should Hazard be benched for? Marin? Please.
  8. Sturridge has always been seen as the bigger talent, even when both were at CFC.
  9. My main gripe with us signing Lewandowski was the fact that he'd cost around £30m+. If the quoted price for £15m however is true then he could be one of the signings of the season - I'd take him definitely.
  10. We can look on the flip side and say that you're trying to make Torres look better than what he really is. That's my only gripe with the stats you provided. The Messi argument doesn't correlate with Torres' situation either... Torres has been frustrating, there's no denying that. It's natural for people to discredit him when he's doing bad - you can't expect people to look at him in a positive light after 2 very unproductive years. As the main striker of the club like CFC, you get placed a heavy burden on yourself. He's not been good enough. The easy miss against Corinthians in the dying minutes of the game represents his CFC career in a nutshell.
  11. Well, if he did say that it might be true because he's got around 250k followers on Twitter.
  12. Get up how many minutes each have played and you'll get a different story. Stats can easily be manipulated.
  13. The only realistic and decent British player we can target is Darren Bent in my opinion.
  14. We can get 15 goals a season from Torres. I'm saying we need more than that, but I'm not disagreeing with the fact that a different striker could be a viable option in January.
  15. Player and a half. Would love if we signed him.
  16. I love this man. As I've said before, can see him as a candidate for future captaincy. Top player.
