Schurrle would not be as good if he played upfront simply because our CF is involved in our build up play a lot. He's a player that runs from deep and makes splendid runs off the ball - putting him up front takes that away IMO.

We need good movement around him for that to happen. Someone like Schurrle utilised the space very well today for example.

One bad game from Schurrle and people will be wanting to sell him again.

As @MrExcalibur100 pointed out in the Torres thread, here's another instance of Schurrle's clever movement (watch how he tries to drag out defenders with his run off the ball) that takes away a few players and creates more space for Hazard who produces a brilliant rabona cross which Torres unfortunately didn't finish. It's a shame because it would've been a very well worked goal all round.

Liverpool were extremely lucky today, if Southampton had a clinical finisher up front they would've been dismantled today. Unluckily Southampton were just undone by Suarez's brilliance today, but I do really love how they approach the game.

Fully took his chance. Well done Andre. I feel like too many people are expecting the wrong thing from Schurrle. He isn't a flashy, technical player, he's all about movement, getting into right positions, pace and finishing. Hopefully his display today showcased that.

I agree with the latter but honestly don't think Schurrle was as bad as people are making him out to be before his goals - the only thing that was really bad were his deliveries - they were horse shit.
