I agree, it is a possibility. Good thing is that in CL you can make 5 changes and you get 6th in overtime so if 120th minute is close we can make GK change. And you can have 2 GKs on the bench. Both Kepa and Willy are good in pens. No hard feelings Mendy. But he is big and with strong hands, if he guess the side he should save some pens. How hard it is? And if you look back under Frank this season he did not start 5 games: Sevilla, Krasnodar, Palace three 4:0 wins, UTD 0:0 at Old Trafford which is not a game you expect to dominate anyway and friendly dead game against Krasnodar at home (again second team and unmotivated squad). So overall I am not sure this: we lose a lot of control without Mount is based on?

I am sure we would reach Istanbul if this is the case. But if City, Bayern and PSG are on our way it would be really difficult. But even if that is the case now with Tuchel I would say we would have a chance. With Frank those games would be lost before kick off. So for next round Porto, Real or Dortmund is great draw. City, PSG, Bayern bad and Liverpool is somewhere between but closer to first group of teams.

I noticed both times when we played with 4 at the back (Barnsley second half and Leeds before Timo and James came in) was when Werner was not on the pitch. Makes sense. With 3 at the back he can play his natural position SS or whatever he plays and wing backs cover the flanks. With 4231 or 433 he would have to play winger or number 9. So I think he is the big reason why we play with 3 ATB. This is also going to be a problem in the future. I do not expect us to play 442 like RBL because that is so rare formation especially for top teams.

Horrible record in European comps but amazing in domestic. 3 seasons with Juve = 3 titles and 2 cups 2 seasons with Chelsea = 1 title and 1 cup And now getting title with Inter and last season 2nd place after years and years of Inter being from 4th place at best to mid table. Also won Seria B with Bari and got promoted with Siena. He always delivers. Curious to see what will happen to them next season tho...

Yes it's done imo. But also Milan honeymoon is over. Yes they have a couple of injuries but they were never really in race. They may struggle to finish in top4. Napoli and Juve are definitely much better teams. No top players in Milan midfield and attack.

Well, last team that won title over PSG gave some amazing players. Mbappe, Silva, Fabinho and some flops like Bakayoko, Lemar, Sidibe... Lille is still top of the table with 9 games to go. I am sure they have same good players for top teams. I noticed most mentioned one Soumare is usually on the bench.

Reading this thread now, many of you may get things you wished for. - get past Round of 16 CL - almost there. - close the gap to City/Liverpool - we are ahead of Pool! I never understood this narrative many have that after finishing 33 points behind Liverpool last season that finishing lets say 20 points behind them would be progress. That is not how football works. We saw it many times. We finished 6th, 1st, 10th, 1st in space of 4 seasons. Things happen. Injuries, mentality after success and motivation is another big factor. - Comfy top4 finish - not likely. - Fa Cup trophy - still good chance. Signings did not met our expectations. (except Mendy and Silva). And now we have to look at this season in two parts. With Frank and with Tuchel. And this is most positive thing about our season. This change but also most negative. Depends how you look at it. We did not expect title before the season so this season can still be amazing, next two months will tell everything, too early to judge in terms of results.
