Looking back I really liked him last season as AM in 4231. It was just a couple of games very early in the season and I have no idea why it stopped? It looked very promising. After we signed him everyone expected to see him in this position. Sevilla, Krasnodar in CL, Barnsley in Cup and 3 PL games (WBA, Palace, Southampton). In these 6 games he had 4 goals, 2 assists and 1 pen won. After that Lampard changed to 433 (to accommodate Mount?) and the rest is history. 4231 is not very common formation these days but if you have Kaka, Zidane you play them as solo AM. Kai is this level talent. Sure he had some good games as false 9 but now in this setup 3421 he really looks lost behind Rom with another AM/winger. Lets try it I think it could work great. And Pulisic could be in great position to rediscover his form from first season as a winger. That would be amazing.

Only difference between Juve/City games and AV in Cup, Zenit, Spurs (first half) is quality of opposition. We were shit in all games but quality of opposition decided results. All this talk we lost because Mount didn't play entertains me and it's like saying we lost because Kepa didn't play.

Play 4312 Kai behind Werner and Lukaku. This system works for our set of players. Ziyech looks very bad and Pulisic is out so not in need for wingers. Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic, Mount, RLC, Saul can on play in 3 MF. Even suits Gallagher. James/Chilwell full backs.

TT got us into top4 in the end thanks to opponents just like Lampard. He won 38 points in half season which is 76 full season and that is underperforming with this squad. Lets see if TT is different but every Chelsea previous manager when had downfall refused to change much... Conte never dropped his formation, Sarri stubbornly continued with his thing and Lamps refused to try some things many of us expected... If TT continues this formation with 3 or 4 slow players behind striker it wont end well I feel. If we go back to back 4 I think 4312 would be more logical for this set of players instead of 433 or 4231 which people usually expect.
