Then again, the Athletic did post that article after Lampard's sacking that our board were frustrated with him when he urged them to spend big on Rice. Hopefully there is truth to that, as that would fall under the 'not spend ridiculous amounts for average players' category.

If last January and last summer is anything to go by, it's that Cech's appointment has hopefully helped preventing some of our previous actions with stop gaps or paying ludicrous amounts for average players.
