  2. Chelsea star undergoing medical ahead of reunion with former manager https://www.shoot.co.uk/Chelsea-star-undergoing-medical-ahead-of-reunion-with-former-manager/ Chelsea will be hoping to build on their first win of the season by beating AFC Wimbledon in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday. A brace from Raheem Sterling and a late goal from Nicolas Jackson earned the Blues a 3-0 win over Luton Town on Friday, marking Mauricio Pochettino’s first win as the club’s manager. The game against the Dons presents Pochettino with the opportunity to rotate his squad, and the likes of Mason Burstow and Mykhaylo Mudryk could be given an opportunity to impress. One player that won’t be involved, though, is Trevoh Chalobah, as the defender looks set to complete a move away from the club. According to Football Insider, the centre-back is undergoing a medical ahead of completing a move to Bayern Munich. The report claims that the Englishman is set to join the German club on an initial loan that will also include an option-to-buy clause. 🤬 Chalobah, 24, is a product of the Blues’ youth academy and made his senior debut for the club in 2018. He was given his first proper first team opportunity in 2021 by then-manager Thomas Tuchel, who is now in charge of Bayern, and it appears that the duo could now be set for a reunion. The Englishman featured regularly for the Blues throughout each of the past two seasons and has made 63 appearances for the club across all competitions, but he is yet to feature so far this term. He has fallen behind the likes of Thiago Silva, Axel Disasi and Levi Colwill in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, and now looks set to join the Bundesliga champions for the remainder of the current campaign and possibly even longer. Chalobah signed a new contract with Chelsea as recently as November last year, committing his future to Stamford Bridge until 2028, but it appears that he is now on his way out of the club.
  3. toss shit against the wall and see if it sticks............... Barcelona whiz kid ready to listen to offers, Chelsea, Tottenham among options https://barcauniversal.com/barcelona-whizkid-ready-to-listen-to-offers-Chelsea-tottenham-among-options-report/ In a major development, Sergi Sole of Mundo Deportivo is reporting that Barcelona whizkid Ansu Fati is now open to listen to offers to leave the club this summer. The 20-year-old La Masia graduate has been deprived of regular minutes under Xavi Hernandez since the last season and his situation has not improved in the new campaign. Despite that, the forward had always maintained that he would remain at Barcelona and turn things around. However, it now appears that he has changed his mind is willing to listen to offers, having thought about the situation and discussed the matter with his family and agent, Jorge Mendes. Chelsea, Spurs are among the clubs keen With Ansu open to an exit, there appears to be no shortage of suitors for the Spanish international at the moment. Indeed, the report claims that Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, and Borussia Dortmund are concrete options for the 20-year-old attacking prodigy. Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino is a huge admirer of Fati’s talents and even though the youngster would not play Champions League football, he could have a prominent role at Stamford Bridge. As for Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund, both clubs are known to trust and back young talents, which could tempt Ansu, who is seeking regular minutes. Over the next couple of days, Mendes will compile all the offers that he has for the Spaniard and present them so that the youngster can make a decision. Ansu out, Joao in? The report adds that Ansu’s departure this summer will most likely be on a loan deal, with the club not prepared to lose total control of the youngster. At the same time though, his potential departure should open the doors for Joao Felix to arrive at Barcelona. The 23-year-old Portuguese international has made it clear that he wants to join the Catalans, and Mendes as well as club president Joan Laporta are working hard to make it happen. Atletico Madrid are unlikely to stand in the way of a loan exit as long as his full salary is covered, which the Blaugrana would be open to do once Fati has left. So, there could be some movement in the attacking department at Barcelona before the transfer window closes.
  4. Fabrizio Romano says Chelsea have a ten-name list of players they may sign this week https://www.thechelseachronicle.com/news/fabrizio-romano-says-Chelsea-have-a-ten-name-list-of-players-they-may-sign-this-week/ Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Chelsea now have a long list of players they are still considering signing this summer. He said on his Daily Briefing that the Blues still have as many as ten players on the list of attacking midfielders they are looking at in the final few days of the transfer window. In his press conference today, Mauricio Pochettino hinted that he would be satisfied if the club did not bring in another signing this summer. They have been extremely active again, completing additions such as Moises Caicedo, Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson. This has come at the expense of a number of last season’s key first team players. Mason Mount, Kai Havertz and Kalidou Koulibaly have all moved on as the clear out has been in full force. It has been claimed that the one player that Chelsea are looking to bring in is an attacking midfielder, who has the ability to be versatile and play along the frontline. Chelsea have ten-man list One of the names who has been reported frequently in the last 24 hours is Emile Smith Rowe, who is apparently surplus to requirements at the Emirates. Romano has now claimed though that he is not the only figure they are considering, and as many as ten are in the shortlist ahead of what is set to be a mad last few days of the transfer window. He said: “Chelsea have 10 names on their list for the end of the transfer window.” This rush has come after the expected deal for Michael Olise from Crystal Palace fell through, despite them triggering his release clause. The saga actually ended with the Frenchman signing a new contract to remain at Selhurst Park.

  7. Club chief personally flies star out of Chelsea and other potential Blues exits https://thedailybriefing.io/i/136516336/club-chief-personally-flies-star-out-of-Chelsea-and-other-potential-blues-exits Chelsea will be very busy with outgoings right up until the transfer window shuts. Bayern want to sign Trevoh Chalobah, who doesn’t look like getting many minutes if stays at Chelsea. The German champions have already had a loan bid rejected and are still in talks. Chelsea want a permanent sale and expect a £50m fee. Bayern will consider Southampton’s Armel Bella-Kotchap if they can’t strike a deal for Chalobah. Conor Gallagher also faces an uncertain future but has been playing for Chelsea under Mauricio Pochettino and is content to stay and fight for his place. Bayern, West Ham and Spurs have all looked at Gallagher during different parts of the window. Everton and Newcastle held a historical interest as well, but are not active currently. Brighton really like Gallagher, but not his wages, and that’s why nothing has materialised to date. Chelsea will listen to offers should they arrive around the £50m mark. Romelu Lukaku is another Chelsea outgoing that’s basically done. He is off to Rome today to finalise his season-long loan after a lengthy and messy saga involving Inter Milan and Juventus. Believe it or not, Roma owner Dan Friedkin, who is a certified pilot, personally flew him over! My understanding is the fee is £8m (higher than reported) and Lukaku is more than halving his wage. Chelsea have also inserted a €45m release clause into his contract. This has always been the ballpark required for a permanent sale.
  8. I am so not even remotely there yet, but holy fuck if he is!
  9. they do not give a shit what I think, lolol
  10. Chelsea Supporters’ Trust criticises club after coach travel subsidy removed https://theathletic.com/4814759/2023/08/29/Chelsea-coach-travel-spending-supporters/ The Chelsea Supporters’ Trust (CST) has criticised the club for its decision to remove the full coach subsidy for domestic away travel. Chelsea announced on Monday that they had “made the difficult decision to remove the coach subsidy for domestic away travel”. Coaches will still be provided for selected games for both the men’s and women’s teams, with the cost of coach travel announced when tickets go on sale. The first coach offered was for Chelsea’s trip to Bournemouth on September 17. This would have cost £29 ($36) per person, however, the CST agreed to subsidise this game for anyone who wants to travel, making the fare £10. Chelsea added that “it was not financially sustainable to continue to offer subsidised coach travel” and that from their away fixture against Burnley, supporters will be advised of the coach cost when it goes on sale. CST said the “appalling decision will force those who rely on the service to pay significantly more to travel to away fixtures”. The decision comes just weeks after Chelsea broke the British transfer record after signing Moises Caicedo from Brighton & Hove Albion for £115m. That beat the record they broke initially when they bought Enzo Fernandez in the January transfer window from Benfica for £106m. Despite recouping around £270m this summer by selling players such as Kai Havertz, Mount and Mateo Kovacic, the west London club have spent more than £900m in three transfer windows since the Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital takeover. The CST statement read: “Despite representations from The Chelsea Supporters’ Trust (CST) and coach users, Chelsea FC has unfortunately decided that maintaining the £10 subsidy is not ‘financially sustainable.’ It is important to note that this decision was made in the same year that the club broke the transfer record twice. It is widely rumoured that the coach subsidy budget was approximately 250k. “Earlier this month, The Chelsea Supporters’ Trust met with club officials in response to online rumours that the coach subsidy would be removed for the 2023-24 season. Chelsea FC clarified that at the time a decision had not been made but confirmed that they were evaluating the subsidy budget. “During the meeting, The Chelsea Supporters’ Trust made representations to the club. The Trust stated that removing the subsidy entirely would adversely impact the following user groups (not exhaustive): Young supporters, supporters who use wheelchairs and mobility scooters, people who are unable to drive due to cost or medical conditions, supporters who are ambulant disabled, supporters who require to be dropped off very close to the stadium, vulnerable supporters, supporters who rely on this affordable mode of transport to support the club.” In addition to consulting with the fan advisory board, Chelsea also canvassed views from supporters’ groups and coach users, who were encouraged to contact the club via supporters’ groups and share their thoughts. “The overwhelming majority of respondents who rely on the service communicated to the club that the coach subsidy must remain in some way and that removing it entirely would outprice supporters and would have disastrous consequences,” The CST statement added. “Despite the significant feedback from the CST and coach users, the club has subsequently decided that maintaining the subsidy is not financially sustainable. On Friday, the CST again met with the club to communicate that at a time when they should be taking active steps to make football affordable for more people, the decision to remove the subsidy in full is totally unacceptable. This decision also contradicts the commitment to inclusivity that the club guaranteed during takeover discussions held last Spring. “It appears that during a cost-of-living crisis, Chelsea FC are happy to increase the financial burden on many supporters by penny-pinching.”
  11. sorry but I just cannot get past this: Height: 1,67 m with Maatsen he is such a defensive liability in the air and gets bullied on the ground at times all my (valid) ranting about how we could have had Davies (winger depth as well) or Numo AND (of course) Chilly as our two LBs and £20m or £30m cash in the bank (on fees alone) on top aside we also instead (remove the Davies/Mendes option) could have had this potential LB beast for only £15.4m (£14.2m net as they loaned him back for the year last season for 1.5m euros) I REALLY like what I see of him so far with Spuds
  12. I have laid out so many LB options for years my head spins the last one (and even that is probably now impossible for almost all of them): we are very likely stuck with either Maatsen or the wretched CuCu and perhaps BOTH for years I do not understand what either ownership regime (Roman, then Boehly) were/are doing at LB (and until Malo, at RB as well) the CuCu buy was a ratfuck supreme, £118m total (fee + salary) for a player I NEVER rated and warned about over and over maddening
  13. Maatsen is not a viable winger absolutely NOT convinced of that gambit at all
  14. 2 are overrated IMHO: Lee, 23yo in a few months so not a super young youth player, had only 9 league goals in 6,000 league minutes, only 10 goals total in all comps, in around 7,000 minutes with Valencia, I never truly rated him at all, was very surprised PSG bought him (and Asensio), as they usually buy players I lust after (Mbappe, Hakimi, Marquinhos, Nuno Mendes, Donnarumma, Skriniar, Dembélé, Verratti, Carlos Soler, Vitinha, Nordi Mukiele (he would be great cover for us whilst Reece is out, if Malo cannot go), and (he is not working out atm, despite a really good first season) Hugo Ekitiké Asensio (28yo in several months, so only one more full sub 30yo season after this one) may restart his very much stalled career, but I would take Barcola (20yo, soon 21) over him all day, all night, for us Mbappe is gone in 10 months and (as some like to point out, rightly so) Dembélé is oft-injured
