  1. Where did I say do not buy him? Neither Hakimi nor Theo are available, and Raum is off the board. I would rather buy Maxwel Cornet though for LWB/RW around £25m less and more versatile I also still rate Borna Sosa as well I am not alone: Manchester City To Focus On Borna Sosa If Marc Cucurella Deal Falls Through https://www.si.com/soccer/manchestercity/transfer-rumours/report-manchester-city-to-focus-on-borna-sosa-if-marc-cucurella-deal-falls-through finally, there are Filip Kostic and Robin Gosens as well but I will certainly not lose my mind if we buy Cucurella he is just really expensive for very little goal/assist production (unlike ALL of my other names)
  2. I wanted (for years) Hakimi for RWB and LW depth and Theo for LWB and LBC depth Theo can also play a legit LCB and is big enough (12 cms taller than Cucurella)
  3. that 1.75m is not true, he is EVEN SHORTER 1.72m https://www.premierleague.com/players/27277/Marc-Cucurella/overview no fucking way he plays CB!!!!!! wtf
  4. I call bullshit on Andreas Korssund if he were, we would have moved for him long ago the amount of dodgy rumours this window has been staggering

  8. Fabrizio Romano says Chelsea have made transfer proposal for 'untouchable' 20-year-old RB Leipzig centre-back Josko Gvardiol is currently Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel’s “number one” defensive target, according to Fabrizio Romano. Despite the obvious need for new defenders following the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen this summer, Kalidou Koulibaly remains Chelsea’s only defensive signing so far. Bear in mind that earlier this month, Tuchel admitted that he needs at least one more defender. The Blues were in the race for Jules Kounde, who eventually joined Barcelona after “doubts” from the English club’s camp, according to Sevilla sporting director Monchi. Romano claims that Chelsea are working on two other centre-back targets; Leicester City’s Fofana and Leipzig’s Gvardiol with the latter reportedly higher on the list. https://www.thechelseachronicle.com/transfer-news/fabrizio-romano-says-Chelsea-have-made-transfer-proposal-for-untouchable-20-year-old/ “Gvardiol is one of the top names on [Chelsea’s] list — Thomas Tuchel is in love with this player,” the Italian transfer expert said on his YouTube channel. “Let me say that he’s option number one in the list, but as of today, the situation on Leipzig’s side is still the same — they have no intention at all to sell Gvardiol this summer. “So, it is going to be more than complicated. “For Fofana, it’s difficult, but you can negotiate. For Gvardiol, it’s not even the case. He’s considered untouchable by Leipzig, so Chelsea would need a miracle to sign Gvardiol.” Romano added that Chelsea have already tried to propose a potential swap deal for Gvardiol, offering Timo Werner’s service on loan as a part of the deal. While Leipzig are reportedly keen on Werner, they remain reluctant to let go of Gvardiol. “At the moment, it’s more than difficult because Leipzig don’t want to sell the player,” Romano explained. “But Chelsea tried, and let’s see if something can happen.” Arguably one of the best young centre-backs in Europe, it is easy to see why Tuchel is reportedly a big fan of Gvardiol. Aside from his obvious defensive abilities, the 20-year-old is also renowned for his ball-playing skills. As Romano pointed out, however, his being under contract at Leipzig until 2026 means that Chelsea are facing an uphill battle to convince the Bundesliga club to let go one of their key players.
  9. Fabrizio Romano's Daily Briefing The Daily Briefing: Sunday 31st July - Cristiano Ronaldo, Marc Cucurella, Mikel Arteta on transfers, and more My exclusive round-up of the latest transfer news, featuring Cristiano Ronaldo's future, Manchester City's pursuit of Marc Cucurella, and Mikel Arteta on potential new transfers. https://caughtoffside.substack.com/p/the-daily-briefing-sunday-31st-july Chelsea Chelsea will allow Timo Werner to leave on loan this summer, with an option to buy included. Juventus and RB Leipzig are both showing an interest, but as it stands, nothing is close to completion. Newcastle are yet to make an approach to sign Werner. "We've never offered de Jong to Chelsea. No, no, no. We had a nice dinner with Boehly in Barcelona and we talked about football,” said Joan Laporta, the Barcelona president. Talks are progressing well between Napoli and Kepa Arrizabalaga over a potential loan move this summer. Napoli plan to bring in Kepa to replace David Ospina, who recently joined Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr. 🚨Exclusive: Will Chelsea be in the market for a striker this summer? 🚨Exclusive: A central defender is a priority for Chelsea, but who is on their list? 10. Chelsea 'PULLED OUT' OF JULES KOUNDE DEAL DUE TO 'DOUBTS' BEFORE BARCELONA MOVE, SEVILLA'S MONCHI REVEALS Barcelona announced that they had reached an agreement to sign Kounde on Thursday in an apparent blow for Chelsea, who had been heavily linked with the French defender. However Monchi, director of football at Sevilla, has now suggested that Thomas Tuchel's side backed out of a deal, opening the opportunity for Barcelona to make a better offer. https://www.eurosport.com/football/transfers/2022-2023/Chelsea-pulled-out-of-jules-kounde-deal-due-to-doubts-before-barcelona-move-sevilla-s-monchi-reveals_sto9066830/story.shtml
  11. we are simply losing out to bigger clubs (Real, Barca, Bayern), plus PSG is so hard to compete with for French players like Hugo Ekitiké, Kimpembe (born just north of Paris), who didn't want to leave Paris (and Algerian, Moroccan (Hakimi for example, even though born in Madrid), and Francophone sub Saharan African too)
  12. watching the replay of the CS, and a PERFECT example of why I do not like short CB's in the EPL Ake smoked in the air for the first goal, if he was 6cms taller (so 1.86m) he would have easily blocked it or (and this goes to his lack of quality) if he had the positioning of Thiago Silva, he might have as well, as he could have been on balance to leap more
  13. That was one of Marina's greatest weaknesses. She refused to take mild losses on the pure shit buys we did, plus turned down huge profits at times now we either take utter shit prices or lose on frees for nothing they sum total when the books are closed an he reign in terms of net losses is going to be insane, especially when wages are factored in between shit buys, shit sales, refused sales, refused buys, botched buys (the Italians just ran the road with her over and over and over), botched sales, insanely poor contract management, way too high of salaries, etc etc, it could easily top £700m cumulative over the past 6, 7 years if we lose most all of the remaining dregs on frees she did great on a few sales thanks to the utter stupidity of Atletico and then Hazard to Real, but that only tends to gloss over the wreckage, not just in lost monies, put also the pickles we kept getting ourselves into (including now) hats off for the trophies we won, but the cost was so so unnecessarily high
  14. needs a new nickname though, Gaga? eeeeek
  15. £10m + £2.2m or so in add-ons is not bad (US dollar is strong v the pound (and most all else) or would have been even less) he is one of the best young (very young, he only turned 18yo right at the end of last season) GKers on the planet good athlete, very good height (1.93m with long arms) youngest homegrown MLS signing ever at 14 when he signed in 2019, started at 16yo
  16. Contract expires: Jun 30, 2026 just pay the bloody release clause of £17.5m his salary demands will not be huge and he can play so many positions he is almost ambipedal (left footer but decent on his right) LWB, LB, RMF, LMF, LW, RW, SS and even a false 9 he scored 9 EPL goals for an absolute shit team in only 1774 minutes 60 goals, 30 assists in 15,117 minutes in his largest topflight comps and is in his peak years Date of birth/Age: Sep 27, 1996 (25)
