100% agree. I dont know who this guy is but if conte thinks he can do the job and he approves him than lets get him in. Nobody trusts the board here but we have to remember Conte is telling them if he believes in the player or not.

I respect how AC milan handled this situation far more then Napoli did with K2. They had a player we wanted, We offered great money for him and they chose to keep their player. How most deals should be handled.

back on topic, At this point with the market where it is if this guy is a good ball player who is respected throughout serie A with loose comparisons to our ideal target AND he wants out of his club who feel the same its time to pay the price bring him in and turn our attention elsewhere. He is tall, Physical, has some pace and apparently good at playing the ball forward. Sounds like an ideal match with zouma and christensen coming back.

I think our top 4 place is at risk regardless? The league is going to be incredibly difficult this year and my point is that by bringing in someone for the sake of having another body is how we got guys like Papy, Hector, Miazaga etc. If he is a young player that has loads of talent that can be developed bring him in, if he is a proven starter in a competitive league who we can see playing here 2 years from now bring him in. I think he would still be backup LB/RB. RR starting LB Azpi starting RB Aina/Ivanovic backups His progression isnt blocked, it is more difficult and breeds competition which improves quality.

I agree completely, we absolutely need defensive cover. IF we cant bring in 1/2 guys via transfers id rather we use Tomori, Clarke-Salter, Miazaga, Da Silva. bringing in a sub par stop gap that we will have to off load next year isnt something i am interested in. If we cant bring anyone in and end up going with who we have and youth we will suffer but id rather suffer and develop than suffer and spend?

I am a bit biased being that I cheer for Italy and have a soft spot for left footed italian defenders but this guy is my #1 choice way above K2 or Maksimovic. why not throw a bid around 35-37 pounds at AC and see if they are as stubborn as Napoli.

I think Conte would like to go to a back 3 next year as well. I view whoever we sign(hopefully) as a complementary piece to Zouma and Christensen. We already have the big athletic barzagli type (Zouma) and a skillful Bonucci style passer(Christensen, still needs to prove ALOT but has the mould) Next we need the marauding chiellini type. K2 fits the description as does Maksimovic, I dont think we are going to be able to pry Romanogli from AC Milan no matter the price. I just hope we can close one of the signings or at least lay the ground work for a January purchase. I really like the idea of a 3 4 3 next year with our players.

The guy is an absolute warrior, winner and leader. IF we can get him in we should. He would be a perfect gateway of skillful aging defender to usher in our youth studs while teaching them how to play in contes system.
