Bertrand is a brilliant defender. Better than Ivanovic & Azpi for me, disgrace he didn't get another game after a MOTM performance against Arsenal at the Emirates. Liverpool & Tottenham will be sniffing around after his Villa loan spell.

How much has he improved defensively though. We all know he's the best left back we have offensively. And it isn't even a contest. It's his improvement on the defensive end that will catch Mourinho's eye. Bertrand is miles better defensively IMO and couldn't get a look in.

How far off is he from the NT? By all accounts he's the best player in the League yet he hasn't gotten a sniff yet.

Like Valdes at Barcelona or Casillas at Spain he has it easier than most GK's. Atleti have by far the best defense in football and they are the most positionally disciplined and aggressive team in football. Every player on that team works their bollocks off from Costa to Juanfran. And the saves he made today were routine at best. The saves in the first leg were a lot more impressive.

Guarin is awful. A Oliver Twist version of current a 35 year old Lampard. Don't want him anywhere near here.

If he keeps producing match winning performances for us this season and has an outstanding WC this summer, who knows maybe he'll even win it this time next year.

These are the same people who thought Fernandinho would be a terrible signing, Javi Martinez was overpriced and Arsenal didn't "need" Ozil. Matic will prove the doubters wrong fairly quickly if he comes.

Pogba is pure B2B and a power footballer. Matic is more elegant on the ball and is more of a playmaker.

Seems like De Bruyne's sale is going to fund this one. I'd have him here in a heartbeat. Essien is finished, this seems like Lamps last season here, Mikel is somewhat one dimensional and Ramires is purely a B2B midfielder. Out of all the CM's out there who would you guys most liken him to? I've been hearing Yaya, Javi Martinez, Busquets comparisons but he's taller than every single one of them and seems alot more fleet-footed than those three. His balance and dribbling ability for someone of his stature is amazing, like a midfield version of Ibra.
