The statement says: "Chelsea Football Club can confirm that yesterday it made a written offer to Manchester United for the transfer of Wayne Rooney. "Although the terms of the offer are confidential, for avoidance of doubt and contrary to what is apparently being briefed to the press in Sydney, the proposed purchase price does not include the transfer or loan of any players from Chelsea to Manchester United." Mata and Luiz are both more valuable assets than Rooney could be at the moment. We do not know if Rooney will perform, if he can work as a second striker or if he has the pace anymore. It could just be another Torres-ish signing. We need to stop looking at players that have already hit their prime, and we really shouldn't be offering players that still have so much to give. That said, no one in their right mind would not want Rooney at their club, just hope it doesn't cost us either Luiz or Mata.

Rafa seems to have gotten the right combination wiith the team today, commanding display in the first half. Hope to see Ba on, Goal Difference could be vital between us and Arsenal come end of season. But with the amount of games we've been playing, important to rest the likes of Mata/Hazard too.
