  1. Lolz, the 90th minute save was pure class and a goal 90% of the time in the EPL. Made a couple of excellent saves besides that. He blocked Cavani well for the second goal, but the ball went through the tiny opening he let. More unlucky than bad. And more a defenders error than a goalkeeper error for sure. Not one defender ran alongside Cavani, wtf?
  2. If he wants a transfer, the only thing that matters is the EC. I guess he will suck for the rest of the season at Chelsea and then play great for Belgium. I don't think he's motivated to stay here. Last year he won the title and was POY and I think he has achieved everything he wanted to achieve here. I think his next goal is to win the CL with Real and become Ballon D'Or there. It certainly feels that way, sadly enough.
  3. Who cares who is the better one, Boga or Musonda. RLC, Musonda and Boga should be starters next season for us. Any coach that doesn't see that should f*ck off imo.
  4. Against Watford and United PHE-NO-ME-NAL. But this thread is covered in a sick amount of silence. The Cech fans don't like it when his succeeder shows he's clearly the better goalkeeper. Can we support Chelsea now instead? Just as usual everybody is screaming hallelujah for DDG and Courtois is mentioned in a footnote. While DDG only had to do normal saves and Courtois was the one who made the world class saves. But most fans here agree with that because they rather support Cech than Chelsea.
  5. Best goalkeeper worldwide in commanding his area. Has a sick a talent for high balls, etc. But during his long time off he couldn't catch the ball anymore at the field. So the feeling had to come back first, but I think he was thrown in the team too soon. Now he lacks confidence in that aspect. If he regains his confidence he will be Captain Area again. It doesn't help when people shout things when he drops a ball, just support him if you know he has the qualities for it. He is still making some great saves and the goals that go in are normal unsavable balls. So overall he performs very good, no reason to bash at him when he lacks a bit of confidence. His footballing skills were never the greatest, but now they are also worse because of the same reason.
  6. I understand that everybody is pissed off because of our poor ranking and that people are thinking about the old times with the previous group of players. But that doesn't mean that every player is sh*t now and that every past player is better. Cech vs Courtois is a good example of that. Courtois played a great game versus Everton, but everybody is pissed off because we received 3 goals that were impossible to stop for Courtois (the last one could be stopped if he was lucky, but not having luck is not his fault) and everybody forgets he made 2 class saves. With a normal goalkeeper we would have received 5 goals, it's a disaster but it's not Thibaut's fault. Yeah, 2 hard shots right in the corner. Goalkeepers should always save those. Imo people are seeing ghosts here. Letting simple balls (soft and in the centre) go in like De Gea did frequently in December, those are real mistakes. Not making a miracle save is not a mistake. He has made enough miracle saves, maybe people get used to it too much. Again, reacting extremely fast and tapping balls out of the corner of the goal with his 2 metres body and his 10 metres arms may look easy, because he makes it look easy. But those are truely world class saves and not normal at all.
  7. The third goal is not a mistake for me. Even though the angle was sharp, the goal was completely open. So Thibaut had to gamble where he would place the ball, he gambled the short corner and the ball went long. And his 10 metres arms were just too short to grap the ball. Still the reflex was excellent and not slow at all imo. Sometimes a wondersave will avoid the goal, but that's just the goalkeeper getting lucky. Skill alone is never enough to save that ball.
  8. The goalkeeper is the last of our problems. Against Everton he made 2 class saves and the 3 goals were unstoppable. For me he was 8/10 that game. Begovic would have conceded 4 goals imo, so I think it's a stupid solution. Cech isn't a better goalkeeper or a better coacher (in terms of ability, ofcourse he has more experience), but he knew the other players for over 10 years. Courtois is a new kid and has to let Terry do the defensive coaching. That's the only difference.
  9. But not when they are adjusting and when they have to play at a position that is not theirs. He is the only one creating chances those games. It's the max he can do as a world class player. He is doing brilliantly, 10 goals 11 assists since his arrival halfway September before the end of 2015.
  10. The whole Man City team has gone missing those games, De Bruyne is the only one that still created chances. Silva, Aguero and Yaya are definitely playing worse those games. So even then he is doing fine.
  11. How many years of his career are thrown away this far? Worst decision ever to join Chelsea
  12. KDB has done brilliantly while he's still adjusting and while he never played at his best position this far. Hazard has the pure winger qualities, KDB doesn't.
  13. He is Zidane's favourite player, so it will be a war to keep him at the least. If Hazard joins Real Madrid, I think he will win the Ballon D'Or in the near future and the Ex-Blues thread will explode like someone said before. That could be the moment where the Ex-Blues thread gets more popular than the Players thread. Which is a very bad sign.
  14. In his defense, even 1vs1 vs the goalkeeper he will always look for the pass. He is not a player that shoots at the goal.
  15. Agree for 200%, a lot of the saves DDG makes are never going to be chances with Courtois in the goal. He reads the game much better. But I understand that football is entertainment and that people tend to choose for showgoalkeepers like DDG. But I'm also a 100% sure that a team will have more points at the end of the season with Courtois as the goalkeeper than with DDG. Courtois is clearly a level above him. Nice to see De Gea is back, had a few very bad games in a row recently. He also was phenomenal against us.
  16. He needs to work at his footballing skills, but for a goalkeeper it is the part that is the least important. It is a hundred times worse if you are DDG and your footballing skills and reflexes are excellent, but you still need to work at all the other aspects of your game. I do hope that he can train as a field player at least once a week from now on, it would be a shame if that never improved. Truely extraordinary save again though that kept the clean sheet.
  17. What he means is that Charly Musonda played Fabregas between his legs in training, and that Fabregas was furious. There was a rumble with multiple players that chose the side of Fabregas. This happend the last training that Mou gave.
  18. Imo he was very good in his first games, I don't understand the point of inconsistency at all.
  19. Against Bournemouth it was clearly a fault against the goalkeeper, you can't push the goalkeeper in his own area. And the goal today his view was blocked, getting a hand at the ball was the max he could do for me. Don't forget to mention he also has done some miraculous saves in his first games already.
  20. Courtois is a Mourinho type of player. He always works his ass off in training, only says positive stuff in the media and supports the other goalkeepers of the team with all his heart. Courtois has always been very positive about Mourinho in interviews. Those things mean even more to Mourinho than his class quality I think. I wouldn't be surprised if Courtois truely is the number 1 player on Mourinho's list for his next team. But we don't have to sell, and Courtois is not a trouble starter.
  21. Sad to see how things went, but I look forward to see youth players getting serious chances for the remainder of the season. Best youth team worldwide and a manager that refused to give them fair chances was painful to watch.
  22. Everybody makes mistakes, but Courtois makes less mistakes than Neuer. Certainly true. Neuer being chosen above Courtois has to do with 3 things: 1. Showgoalkeeper 2. Bayern is at least top 3 worldwide 3. Age. People keep thinking that a 23 year old can never be the best goalkeeper because he is 23 years old.
  23. 11 goals and 4 assists in 15 EPL games now, nice
  24. DDG really played bad those months last season, some people need to watch games. Just take a look at all the goals United received in those months, there alone you will see at least 10 very big mistakes of DDG. And not every mistake he made was a goal in that period. Just look up some footage. Next time DDG has a bad period, I will make a compilation because the media will shut up about it again, while Courtois will be first page news with his first big mistake. He was bad, period. He only had 2 good games: Palace and Man City. I've seen every Chelsea and every United game the whole 90 minutes that period. I doubt many fans can say this.
  25. Courtois is clearly better than DDG, but I understand that a few fans believe the United media. DDG is a world class goalkeeper, no doubt about it. But Courtois is at least as good in shotstopping. Courtois is the best goalkeeper in the air worldwide, he commands his area better than any other goalkeeper and his all round game in general is phenomenal. DDG has some troubles with those aspects of goalkeeping. Courtois is also a lot more consistent. DDG has had bad periods in Atletico, the first year and a half in United he sucked and from February until July this year he also played bad. Neuer and DDG are showgoalkeepers while Courtois makes the most difficult things look easy. People in general maybe will choose for the show man and the United player, but Courtois is clearly a step above DDG. If somebody asks me who the best Belgian player is, I always answer Courtois without a single doubt.
