He's already 21 and is not playing Premier League football. Plus, he hasn't represented England U-21s or other age groups so he's probably not particularly good at present. We already have 3 young centre halves. What will we do with one more guy who may or may not make it at the highest level. Plus he looks like he'll cost around 10 million, which is not worth the risk. If we really have to buy a young English centre half, I'd rather see us go for someone like a John Stones.
He has to do what he feels is best for him and his family. If that means moving to a rival in the same city, so be it. No matter who he decides to play for, it doesn't lessen his contribution to Chelsea in any way.
Seems more like one of those random rumours floating around. Since United have a defensive crisis, they're going to be linked with a fair bit of defenders. What interests me in that article is potential interest from Barcelona. They need a good central defender and if they buy him, they'll probably sell Pique.
If they stay fit, they both have a very good chance. And it would be awesome to see both of them at their best. The other teams would be quaking in their boots.
The next game feels like it's ages away. The only thing I'm happy about is that some of our guys will get a good rest and be raring to go. Unfortunately, most of our team is going to be away. Fingers crossed that no one comes back in bad shape.
If Southampton stay near the top in January, I can realistically see them finishing in the top 4. Good, well-organised team, and getting the results. Right now, all the usual suspects are looking very shaky.
Not likely to happen. Sterling is Liverpool's brightest star right now. If they fail to make the CL for the next 1-2 yeras, they'll want to cash in on him.
Awesome perfomance from Azpi yesterday. He was solid defensively and that run for the second goal was amazing. He's not one of those marauding fullbacks but when he does go forward, he mostly makes it count.
I love his look of innocence after that first push. It's like 'what did I do?' Seriously though, this guy is supremely good at the dark arts of football. No wonder all the teams in Spain hated him when he played there. I'm glad he plays for Chelsea. Wouldn't want him to be on the opposite side against us. The only advice I'd love to give him is to be more careful with his fouling. He could have got sent off yesterday because some of his shoves were worthy of being carded.
