He brought us the good times, so let's stick with him through the bad.
-
I was honestly shocked when he put Kenedy and RLC on when we were losing against CP. If that isn't change I don't know what is. I think he is trying his best to slowly phase out our low block as well as integrate youngsters without sacrificing results.
-
Not going to bother about being politically correct. Love that aggression, there are indeed too many nice guys and people too concerned about being friends on the pitch. Fuck that. He did not score but totally got into those Arsenal players heads. Good enough for me. Long live Costa
-
He looks like a damn good buy. I honestly wasn't expecting that level of control and fearlessness in him. Such a pity we aren't clicking somehow
-
I'm happy that it looks like it's going to happen. However I don't think he is our "saviour" . If you are expecting a Sanchez level of impact you might be disappointed. I personally think he will be the more polished version of Shirley which I believe will be good enough.

Mou is a fucking savage

While still relatively quick I think that loss of explosiveness really hurt him. He was always 1 step too slow and got closed down or had to rush a shot. Earlier in is career his blistering pace helped him get that extra half second. Of course this doesn't excuse the completely horrendous misses. While I still don't have a good feeling about Falcao, I don't think it would hurt as bad as Torres as what the other posters have stated. Costa's now our main man so we should be fine.
-
It's really weird isn't it? Our squad was so much better in previous years but we just couldn't win it. Then for all the criticism we give Torres he somehow contributes to our victory. It's a fucking corner but it was all we needed.
-
I'd rather they light each other's asses and score 80(yes I'm greedy). Would have the added bonus of making United look like twats
-
If we are only getting him to purely replace Drogs then it's fine. It would actually be an upgrade despite the higher wages. The problem here is if such a talented backup who can play better than Costa at times is going to leave as a result. All the excuses I'm hearing for this transfer is basically the same hope with Torres. We've heard it all before haven't we? It's the expectation that kills you. Honestly if we were to gamble, I'd rather try a young and hungry striker like Solanke if he isn't going to be loaned out. But let's be honest, there aren't many players willing to be the 3rd striker here at Chelsea are there? No way young guys like Lacazette or Destro would want to sit at the bench. So despite all the negatives, I think we're resigned to the fate and trust in our coaching staff to bring out the best in him. No matter how much some of us are against it, if he turns out good we'll happily eat that humble pie. So let's just support him while he wears our colours shall we?

His finishing is pretty tidy but I somehow feel that he's a discount Kane. That's a true English talent imho. But yeah who knows?

Not gonna lie I thought when Pogba missed his tackle it was going to end up in a goal, he seemed to lose his head for a split second there. Buffon's deflected save was incredible and it just reminded me of that 2006 WC Final. Pity he couldn't do better for that 2nd goal though. If they had held on then I can see them winning on penalties. While I think Pogba did okay overall, I find it incredibly hard to justify that price tag. Even a prime Yaya wouldn't cost what he is being touted for. Also, not to jump on any bandwagon but if we should get a CM, Marchisio would be excellent. Very technically sound and has a cracking shot from distance. Shame there probably isn't any chance we can get him though.
-
Really good work by Marchisio there
-
Wouldn't it be largely negligible though? A couple weeks of wages and all that goes down the drain. I'm not too sure about exact numbers and I believe someone else is much more capable of crunching the maths. If we truly wanted just a commercial signing then someone like Salah or an Asian player like Ki/Muto would be much more beneficial since those markets have very few players at top clubs and and we can get large attention focused on just 1 player. Not to mention they would cost far less.
-
I don't think shirt sales work that way tbh. If someone buys a Falcao shirt then they probably wouldn't buy a Hazard shirt for example. And I'm really doubting this move. Wasn't he named in the Copa America squad? If so, wouldn't that mean he has effectively no preseason with us?

I agree that it should have been private, it's never nice to get dissed in public. I personally think in post season friendlies, we can judge players with double standards. Important players who play crazy minutes should be allowed to more or less cruise by and showboat a bit, it is mostly an advertising campaign after all and injuries should be avoided. Fringe players have to work much harder to give the manager something to think about the next season. But while he has never been a high work rate player, I think Jose intends to change that the same way he instilled defensive workrate in Hazard. I recall Jose saying that if a player isn't very good but he gives 100%, he is fine with that. But if someone much more talented is playing in 2nd gear he can't tolerate it. He clearly recognises that RLC is capable for much more and hence should be working much harder. RLC is still young enough for that attitude to be adjusted. He could have chosen others but he feels that RLC is that guy who can make it big in his team with his ability and size. IMO, what probably really pissed him off was that injury claim in order to escape criticism from him. Although tbf I think plenty of people who play sports did that on occasion in order to escape less than pleasant exercises in training LOL.
-
He scored 20 for us this season at the age of 46 so I think he has plenty of longevity in him.
-
Seems like the biggest load of crap I've heard so far. I have a feeling it's just made up rubbish to sell papers or his agent wanting to get him an improved contract. Literally every time I see him he seems like he's enjoying it here. That moment when he sat in the stands didn't even feel scripted as some PR stunt or anything.
-
It's actually pretty amazing to think that even though Jose was only with us for 3 seasons when he first came, the core of that team stayed and managed to win silverware for a long time. Even up till the CL win you could feel It was Jose's team that managed to fight against all odds and win it. I'm really looking forward to a long future with him. I hope that he sets us up perfectly for at least another decade of success even after he leaves. And boy, he's off to a good start.
-
I generally agree with this. For example, the CL is only a prestigious competition because of the challenge against top teams. It's why something like the CWC isn't held in high regard. Although I do wish that other teams don't get too strong too soon. I would personally like us to build up our reputation and dominate the league a bit more which would allow us to attract better names.
-
Agree, sports has many of these figures to be honest. Michael Jordan & Larry Bird trash talked a fair bit in the NBA. Muhammad Ali was pretty famous for it. If you can back it up then it's fine. Pep is someone I really despise because it's so obvious he is a snake. From the way he was bollocking Sanchez for playing for his country and sarcastically applauding his own medical staff in full view of everybody. No denying he is a fantastic manager though.
-
Give me Jose and Zlatan type of interviews any day over those boring politically correct speeches.
-
The guy above just pointed out we won it with 2012 Malouda, Kalou and even Torres. United won it in 2008 with Wes Brown, Nani and Anderson. It was just a poor performance against PSG this year, I wouldn't read too much into it. It was probably a blessing in disguise and it allowed us to focus on the PL.
-
Ah fair enough then. I still think the best option is to sign a true no.10 but with the ability to press. Someone like Gotze would work IMHO. I quite like Willian on the wing since it pretty much nullifies their left side.
-
Unless we are going to pay him even less than Drogs this season it will just not be worth it. He is just not going to be a Torres 2.0 if you try and expect loads of goals from him. But in his defence he probably won't go into hiding the way Torres did. I mean seriously somewhere on a United forum they are just praying for us to have him.
