  1. We should easily beat them even without Costa and Remy. They were lucky last year, the game was very early in the season when all their weaknesses and incompetence of Moyes had not been fully exposed yet. Mourinho just overestimated them and was too defensive then. This year it's different. We have already seen them being ripped apart numerous times and should have no fear. I expect Hazard to earn us freekicks from dangerous positions and perhaps a penalty or two, which we'll eventually turn into goals. Then score some from counter attacks as well. 3-0 to us. :philjones
  2. I rarely use the word hate to describe things I don't like, but Liverpool easily has the most hateable fans I know. They're the only fans that have annoyed me in real life. Last season they started crawling out with their usual "you ain't got no history" and "why don't you want the legend Gerrard to win the league" bullshit. I was so glad the fuckers lost the title to City.
  3. Estonia 0-1 England As an Estonian, losing to England by just one goal while being down to ten men is as good as winning.
  4. 8-0 against Aston Villa in December 2012 is the first that comes to my mind, but that's probably not the biggest.
  5. From Wikipedia: "He scored the first hat-trick of his Chelsea career in a 6–1 win against Queens Park Rangers at Stamford Bridge on 29 April 2012." That's 1 year and 3 months after signing. 72 competitive matches. That's 48 Premier League matches, 8 domestic cup matches, 16 Champions League matches. If I counted correctly.
  6. I don't want to underrate our opponents, but we did beat Schalke 3-0 in both meetings last year and they seem to be much weaker this time. We could, and perhaps should, rest Costa, at least partly. Keep him on the bench, just in case, or start him and substitute at half time if he has already done the job. City game on Sunday is obviously the one we should go in full force, no matter what, and we don't have to take too many risks on Wednesday.
  7. I'd love Villa to humiliate scousers but I'm not expecting too much.
  8. Aston Villa's next five PL games... ouch. 13 Sep 17:30 Gameweek 4 Liverpool (A) 20 Sep 15:00 Gameweek 5 Arsenal (H) 27 Sep 15:00 Gameweek 6 Chelsea (A) 04 Oct 17:30 Gameweek 7 Man City (H) 18 Oct 15:00 Gameweek 8 Everton (A)
  9. We'll end Swansea's great start and bring them back down to earth. 3-0. Going three points clear on top.
  10. I hate to say it but the failures of Moyes and Van Gaal at United just show how great Ferguson was at managing players, and how many bad signings he made in his last five years or so. Anderson for 30 million euros... LOL
  11. Well, yeah. I'm not going to lie, it put a grin on my face. Obiously not because we were behind, but mostly because the league was back on. Don't get me wrong. We were playing well and were going to win the match anyway, my emotions would have been the opposite had they done it 15 minutes before the full time.
  12. A great game overall. I smiled when Burnley opened the scoreline. That's the Premier League I love where anybody can surprise. They started agressively and really wanted to prove themselves, but it was always just a matter of how long they could keep that level. The rest of the game was firmly in our hands. Really glad for Costa to score his first league goal in his first league match. I expect him to score at least 20 league goals this season and now we're one step closer to that. The yellow card was a poor decision though. Really glad for Schürrle to start the game and score that beauty. Goal of the season contender already in the first game! Really glad for Fabregas for his two assists and overall performance. Such class. Just to think that Arsenal turned him down and United did not fight enough to get him. The signing of the summer. Second half was not bad by any means but just a bit boring. We controlled the game but not much happened. At one point I started to wonder if Costa was still on the pitch because I had not noticed him for a long time. But on the other hand I'm glad nothing happened. No need to risk with injuries (or more bad refereeing) in the season opener.
  13. So I was starting to watch the match last night. Knowing there would be an official free stream on chelseafc.com, I did not bother to look for not-so-official-and-not-so-legal back-up streams beforehand. Started watching about ten minutes before the game, the stream was fine, and then, right before the kick-off, it crashed. I wasn't too worried, hoping it would be just a minor problem. But it wasn't. After five minutes the stream was still down and chelseafc.com was barely working. So I started looking for alternatives. When I finally found a good working stream, it was already ten minutes into the game, and the scoreline was already 2-0... two-nil, what the?!? That can't be! But it was! Diego fucking Costa! What a signing he has already been. All his four pre-season goals, while not too miraculous, have given me a strange feeling. So that's what it's like to have a proper in-form centre forward, huh? I know, these have been just pre-season games, but from what I've seen, I totally expect him to score at least 20 goals this season. Can't wait for the Burnley match on Monday, so excited!
