After the rumours of us being very interested in Tchouameni as well, I think that we're going to sign a player from Ligue 1. That league has a lot of financial issues right now, because the TV deal they've had with Mediapro was worth 3.25billion euro's. Mediapro decided to go back on their deal in the second instalment of that payment, so all of the Ligue 1 clubs excluding PSG, that relied on this TV money during the pandemic are in a crisis right now. That means that Ligue 1 players will be very cheap. You'll see talents like Kamara, Tchouameni, Soumare be sold for 20-30m euro's. These players are better than Rice who's worth over 80m and we should sign them to be fair.

He controlled the tempo of the game, and he was defensively solid. As well as creatively the best player on the pitch. It's crazy how complete of a player he is. He can do the things Jorginho can, but he can also defend and he has goal contributions in him. He'd be a huge upgrade on the likes of Jorginho to be honest.

πππYou were right, we'll go in circles. After Tuchels press conference, there is a chance that Pulisic might start against Leeds. I'm curious to see what happens. I can honestly answer every question, but it won't amount to nothing lol. Let the players do the talking on the pitch.

Did you watch the game against UTD? I hope you did, I'm happy he showed up. That goal should've stood btw.

"As much as Werner's finishing has left a lot to be desired, there's nothing to suggest that Mount, CHO and Pulisic are better finishers themselves at the moment. Otherwise, one wouldn't be on only 5 goals, another wouldn't be on only 2 goals and the other wouldn't be on only 1 goal right now." The reason why Werner has more goals is because of the role he has. He is tasked to run in behind to score goals and Mount is tasked to provide for him. So ofcourse he has more goalsπ The amount of chances he's missed however is astounding. You can't sit here and tell me Mount, Pulisic and CHO would miss all those chances. If you're disagreeing with me for the sake of it then there's no point in continuing talking about this topic. Moreover, you mentioned Premier League games, and you forgot the game against Atletico where he was woeful. Also we were criticising our attack under Tuchel since he arrived, so why is Werner getting praise for the minimal we've done in attack? It's clear we have been struggling in attack and he has been a big part of that in my opinion. "Isn't this why I have precisely been saying what I said? There's nothing stopping Tuchel from tailoring our game plan to fit Pulisic in, be it on the left or right, from the start and especially when he already knew him at Dortmund but he hasn't done that. The decision to not play Pulisic of late has more to do with whatever Tuchel thinks of him as opposed to just Werner completely blocking Pulisic's path." Tuchel clearly said in many press conferences that he is not going to change his system for the sake of it. It's working and he wants to keep it. So why would he fit Pulisic and Werner in the system, when he said that? Sure it's not Werner completely blocking his path, but Werner has been underperforming in my opinion even more so than Mount, hence why I focus on him. "The plan of using Ziyech to feed passes to Werner sounds logical but funnily enough, it only happened on 3 occasions in that Liverpool match. That's the same amount of passes as Kante made to Werner, less than Rudiger to Werner (4), and Mount to Werner as well as Chilwell to Werner (each on 6)." Things obviously go to plan with Tuchels Ziyech decision, but it was still the plan he put in place. Whether it worked or not is not what we're discussing. Ziyech played instead of Pulisic because Tuchel decided that he needed a good passer before the game. Ziyech's performance might have showed that it was the wrong decision, but that doesn't change the fact that Pulisic was not played for tactical reasons(in my opinion). But yeah let's stop here, I respect your opinion but we agree to disagree. I hope I'm wrong, and Werner turns out to become world class and score over 10 goals for us till the end of the seasonπ

I do agree that Werner's positioning is better, however the positioning Werner had in the Everton game for example was something even a toddler could do. Everton opened up so much that the ball was easily placed to him, and all he had to do was finish. Pulisic, Mount and CHO are all better finishers at the moment. What's the point of someone positioning themselves if their end product is bad at the moment? There was another chances where Pulisic had very good positioning to pick up a pass, go round Ederson and score but the ball was cleared off the line. "Am just using it as an example because you keep on saying Werner shouldn't have played so many games and that Pulisic should have played. So, was just using one of the recent lineups and switched Werner out for Pulisic." I'm not saying that Pulisic should have played every single game, but to leave him on the bench after a lot of average games Werner had is a bit unfair. I trust Tuchel will do the right thing at the end of the day, and us signing a striker in the summer, will surely put more pressure on Timo. "Okay...but why didn't Tuchel play Pulisic on the right? It's a much more familiar position to him than Werner" That is what we're here to discuss. Maybe because he was tasked to specifically bring the best out of Werner and Havertz according to Matt Law and Simon Johnson? Who knows. Pulisic's injury history could be another factor. I have no idea what goes on in Tuchels brain, but I have hope that he will solve this Werner issue hopefully. Whether it'd be Haaland coming in or Timo actually showing up and perform to our standards which I think is unlikely. I'm just not surprised that Pulisic is not happy and wants to leave according to Romano. He has not been given a chance, when Werner was not even lighting the world on fire. "I know but as I said, Tuchel could have come up with a plan to fit Pulisic in the front 3. I don't know how many times Ziyech played Werner in against Liverpool but Tuchel could have used Pulisic and made us hurt them in a different way. And Pulisic also came on for Ziyech in that game. There is more than one way to skin a cat." Who would feed the balls to Werner and Pulisic if Ziyech is not there? I think that in Tuchel's mind he wanted two players that were able to make good long balls to Timo, one being Jorginho and the other being Ziyech. I see no other reason why Ziyech played that game to be honest. To say what if Tuchel found a way to play the two of them together is completely hypothetical and it's something we can't measure or use in an argument to be honest. It's like saying, what if my grandmother had a penis would she be my grandfather?π Anyways let's enjoy the rest of the season and see where the whole Werner/Pulisic thing takes us. I hope Tuchel does his best in managing the situation.

When Werner does not score, he does not offer enough. My point is that Pulisic can offer the things Werner can at the moment and more. Which is obviously not registering in your brain at the moment. Comparing Mbappe and Giroud is a stretch because they are polar opposites, so you're basically trying to create a narrative that Pulisic can not make good runs, score, position himself etc. "Again, irony. The fact you genuinely think Pulisic and Werner offer the same thing, makes your whole argument collapse before it even began." Point somewhere where I said that they offer the exact same thing, and they have the same attributes? I don't know if you're deluded or a professional in putting words in people's mouths. I'm saying that AT THIS VERY MOMENT Werner does not offer enough when he does not contribute to goals. Pulisic can do the same things he can, because Werner is garbage at the moment. Can Pulisic make simple runs, like for example Werner made against Everton? Ofcourse, any footballer with a brain can. Would he be able to score those chances? I'd bet my money that Pulisic would score over Werner at the moment. Besides positioning and pace, Werner has nothing going for him at the moment I'm sorry to break it to you. Pulisic on the other hand has more qualities. His passing, dribbling, link-up play, and ball control are all better fundamentally. Now, to add to that, Werner's finishing right now is pants. Would Pulisic miss as many chances as he did? Heck no, so he even got finishing over him at this very moment. Let me say this again, are they the exact same player? No they do play in the same position, which is the inside forward/ double 10 position in a 3-4-3. Would Pulisic offer the same things Timo has, based on how bad Timo's form been? In my opinion 100%. Would Pulisic even offer more? Again, in my opinion yes he would. If you disagree with that, then we agree to disagree innit. However don't try to put words in my mouth by making it seem that I said that they're exactly the same player. Also the fact that you try to make it seem like I criticise Tuchels progress as a Chelsea manager is nonsense. I'm criticising Werner, Tuchel is the one that is tasked by the board(as per Simon Johnson/Matt Law aka the best sources) to bring the best out of him. So do I blame Tuchel for doing his job? No. Do I criticise how Werner is playing at the moment, and give facts to the fans who defend him? Yes. It's the fact that people that defend Timo Werner think that he's been undroppable, which really annoys me. How are winning penalties for the team, penalties you've solely won by playing off the back line and making direct runs. , not impacting the team? So after I showed your flaws in mathematics, you decided to not take the L but to put even more words in my mouth. My goodness, you're like a politicianπ I never said he had zero impact in the team, but I just exposed your exaggeration of him having a 67-70% impact on all the matches he's played in under Tuchel. Those 5 goal contributions I mentioned, included the penalties he's won. I'd like to conclude by saying, we agree to disagree. It seems like your opinion of Werner's position in the team is not wavering, the same with mine. I'll leave it at that.

"Him not scoring is one thing but it's another to have someone making those striker runs in the box, especially if Abraham/Giroud isn't gonna play." Are you saying that Pulisic's positioning is not good enough? He's fast and has an eye for goal as we've seen post lockdown against City for example, where his positioning was superb. "Say if we suddenly play CHO-Mount-Pulisic as front 3, who's gonna be the striker? Who's gonna just have that striker presence and create movement inside the box? Everyone of those 3 likes to get the ball onto their feet." I never mentioned that I wanted Mount-Pulisic-CHO to play with eachother. "So if you have issues with Tuchel playing Werner on the left but not on the right, like he did against Everton?" CHO and Werner were playing together, because Mount needed a rest. When Mount is fit, I have no problem if CHO plays on the left instead of Werner. I'd like to see Pulisic given an opportunity though. To see what he can do on the left together with Havertz as a false nine and Mount in the middle. "Mount has played several games behind the front two of Werner and someone else. Pulisic was part of that front two when he came on at Spurs for example. There's been CHO, Ziyech on the right. Tuchel could have played Pulisic there instead of say CHO but he did not." Ziyech played when he has a specific role like I said. I don't want to repeat myself, no offence just tiredπ π Pulisic can't pass like Ziyech so it doesn't make sense for him to replace Ziyech when he has been given a specific task. Whenever CHO plays in a forward position like he did, I don't criticise him because I think he is a good forward. There's no reason for me to want Pulisic to start over CHO. However there are multiple reasons why I want Pulisic or CHO to start over Werner in the left forward spot. He starts there way too often after average performances, it's time we give CHO or Pulisic a run there while playing with Mount and Havertz.
-
They are both similar in the sense that they are both inside forwards. Pulisic's fundamental skills are ahead of Werners though. Why do you think Klopp was interested in Pulisic way before Werner? Do you really think that is by chance? It's because he has the abilities of an inside forward and thats why he had the same amount of goals in the restart of Prem last season than Werner has in 27 Prem games this season. "Of course he's asked to bring the best out of those two. That's sort of a manager's job. To bring out the best in his players. My point is what does that have to do with Pulisic not being selected over Mount, Ziyech, and CHO" This is why I decided criticised some members IQ. Ziyech has been brought in to play a completely different role, which is to use his passing range, so why would Pulisic play instead of him against United and Liverpool? It makes zero sense. Furthermore, the same goes for Mount. He plays a different role, which is to help the double sixes with the press as well as bringing the ball forward from midfield to attack. Pulisic can do the latter however he is physically too weak to defend and hinder the opposition like Mason does, there's no one else that can do that. Lastly, CHO has played as a wingback for most of the season. Playing Pulisic there is never going to work because he is defensively not good enough. "Ah yes, the standards of being unbeaten since Tuchel arrived and only conceding 2 goals. Oh how the mighty standards have fallen." No the standards that Werner is good enough to start week in week out after missing clear chances so many times this season. Also after having 5 goals in 27 games this season. No idea why you mentioned Tuchels record, it has nothing to do with what I said. I criticise Werner, and not the coach's accomplishments. "Finishing in the Top 4 looked like an impossibility a month ago, we are now favorites to finish 2nd. And yet you complain" I'm criticising a player that is underperforming mate, stop trying to flip this into me not appreciating what Tuchel's doing. I was the first to say Lampard out and Tuchel in. Stay on the Werner topic. "Werner has started 9 games under Tuchel, contributing to 6 goals total (as I referenced above). 6/9 = 67% or 70% " You're not the brightest are you? This is not how you calculate his impact. He started 8 matches, and in those 8 matches 12 goals were scored. He contributed to 5 goals out of those 12 that were scored. Which means his impact is (5/12)= 41.7%. Before criticising my IQ, learn how to calculate broπ P.S. I didn't compare him to Morata.

I disagree, Ribery is a playmaking winger, whilst Pulisic has been a goal threat for us under Lampard. Besides, Werner uses width a lot as well but I don't call him an inverted winger but an inside forward. Why do you think Klopp was massively interested in him? Because Pulisic has the ability to play as an inside forward. The reason why Werner and Pulisic don't play with eachother is because Tuchel likes to play with one player that can hold the ball well. Mount-Pulisic-Werner would only work against a highline like Liverpools. However Ziyech started that game because he was tasked to give through balls to Werner. Saying Werner is there for a striker presence, is really clutching at straws. Is this how far our fanbase goes in defending this guys performances? lol no offence bro Werner at the moment does not have the presence of a striker, because he can't score to save his life. By the way it's not like I really am desperate for Pulisic to play, but I don't mind CHO playing on the left as well. Anyone but Timo at the moment. What prevented Pulisic from playing on the right is Mount. He played most games on the right or in the middle, either way it limits Pulisic to play because Tuchel does not like to bench Mason for obvious reasons. I'd like my front three to be: Pulisic/CHO-Havertz-Mount
-
Nope the point that Werner played a lot of games. By the way Werner got dropped against United for tactical reasons, hence why Ziyech played. It wouldn't make sense for Pulisic to play that game, when he needed a player of Ziyech's attributes. Werner and Pulisic are similar that's why both were dropped. If CHO, Mount and Havertz play together then I have no problem. I rate CHO and I believe he offers more than Werner as well. "Is Tuchel also tasked by the club to bring the best out of Mount, Ziyech and CHO, who have had more game time than Pulisic?" Nothing was said about that, so why ask that question? There's no reason for whataboutism right now. I gave you two reliable sources in Matt Law and Simon Johnson that Tuchel is tasked to bring the best out of Kai and Werner. Are you saying that you deny these claims? If so, just say that instead of asking me a vague question that has nothing to do with the topic. Let's hope there's plenty of time for Pulisic or CHO to get more chances on the left instead of Werner. Let's be real, after saying that Pulisic "has done nothing when he came on", you're judging him on the minimal minutes he's played under Tuchel. Pulisic has been injured majority of the first part of the season when Lampard was our manager. So let's judge him when he's been fit, which is this last month. All those goal contributions you named is laughable, the standards have dropped massively. He missed so many chances under Tuchel and you can't deny that. You mentioned Spurs, Sheffield, Newcastle and Liverpool. In those games, I can only say he had a good game against Sheffield and Newcastle. In the Liverpool game he had two clear chances to score after the offside goal and he missed them, and against Spurs he was wasteful as well even though he won a penalty. Now tell me how he did against Everton, Atletico, Soton and Burnley? Werner impacted 70% of the games he's played under Tuchel? Where did you get that stat from?
-
Pulisic was an inside forward at the end of last season. He has shown enough abilities to play that role, and his goalcontributions post lockdown is similar to Werners after 27 games this season. Does Pulisic have good positioning ? Yes (Werner still has better positiong to be fair). Does he have better finishing? Yes(Werner is horrible in front of goal at the moment). Can he pass, dribble, linkup play and hold the ball better than Werner? Yes. So why can't he play the inside forward role he played in the restart of last season? Let me explain the Ziyech thing, he only get's picked for specific games to play a specific role. Which is not to use his pace, dribbling, positioning etc, but Ziyech is tasked to be the playmaker that uses his passing range. So why do we compare Ziyech and Pulisic? They're two completely different players. I have no problem if CHO starts over Pulisic, because I rate him and I believe he offers more than both Werner and Pulisic at the moment. However he plays the wingback role a lot, and when he does Werner seems to play the left forward position. I'd rather Pulisic play that role.
-
Werner is preventing him because he is the same type of player. Why? Because CHO primarely played as a WB this season. Ziyech has barely played this season, so he didn't prevent him. Even when Ziyech played, he plays in a different role that is not suited for Pulisic if that makes sense. My point is that Pulisic at the moment can do the things Werner is doing and more.
-
Are you serious right now? You mention 2 games out of the 11 we've had? That proves my point even more. I'm also not surprised that you have failed to answer my questions. Bravo, just bravo sigh.... Werner is preventing Pulisic from the starting XI, because they're playing in the same position! Werner even came off for Pulisic against Everton. Also who said anything about Tuchel having agenda against Pulisic? I love how people are trying to put words in my mouth, it's not going to work. Tuchel probably benches Pulisic because he is tasked to bring the best out of Werner by the board, according the likes of Matt Law and Simon Johnson. I don't think it has to do with Pulisic not being good enough or worse than Werner. Please next time when you respond to me, answer my questions. I'm nice enough to answer yours mate.
-
When people mention the fact that Pulisic has to prove himself in the limited game time he has, it really shows a lack of IQ. Werner hasn't shown enough with the abundance of game time he's had, so why not criticise him but criticise Pulisic even though he comes off the bench and isn't even match fit? It's just mindboggling to be honest.
-
Unhappy according to Fabrizio Romano today. I want to ask you a question and please answer me. Do you believe in being matchfit? If so doesn't Pulisic deserve a full match to show his abilities in the Prem? Why judge him when he gets 10 minutes, after he comes off the bench? Furthermore, it's not like Werner is doing much to deserve to start in this team! 5 and 8 assists goals in 27 games in the Premier League! P.S. we've been undefeated because of how we're defending, and everyone knows we've been struggling to score lately. I blame that largely on Werner to be honest.
-
Both matter, because I find it interesting to understand where fans are coming from. We are on a forum to discuss with eachother on what our opinion is right? I really think Tuchel has been brought to get Havertz and Werner playing well. Do I have the evidence for it? No, however there shouldn't be a good enough reason for Werner to start week in week out providing everyone's fit.
-
Well, this is what happens if you don't even give him a chance. It's even worse when Timo has been average this whole time, yet he is the first name on the teamsheet. I fully get his decision to leave, if it has come to that point.
-
I didn't mention once that he should be sold this summer, I just want him to get benched for now. I don't know why he seems to be in everyone's line-up every single week ffs. Give players like Puli and CHO a chance in his position and I'm sure they'll offer more than what he does in his position at the moment.
-
I'm not writing him off, I say give him another season. However he should be benched right now, other players like Pulisic are unhappy because they haven't even gotten the opportunity he has.
-
His fundamental skills is not Chelsea quality to be fair. He was bought to score goals and to get in to good positions, and not for his dribbling/link-up/passing etc. How exactly is he useful when he is not even productive in using his main attribute which is scoring? German football experts even said this before he came to Chelsea that he is not a complete forward, but he is a poacher. I truly believe people that people defending him, basically don't have a leg to stand on. All you guys can say is that his confidence is low, and that this is his first season. All you can do is hope that he get's better, even though he hasn't showed enough to be considered a promising forward for the future.
-
5 goals scored in 27 PL games, in which he started 95% of them, yet people still choose to defend him. If this was Tammy missing those chances, then they'd have a different tune. P.S. I don't rate Tammy.
-
3 or 4 We need a proper LB backup, because Alonso and Emerson are just not good enough. I hope both of them leave this summer. We also need a CB, a strong presence at the back. A DM is vital, because Kante is the only defensive minded midfielder we have and he needs a backup. The most important one is the striker position because Werner is just unreliable, we need a topclass striker to compete with him.
-
My brother supports Milan, so I watch most of their games with him. I can tell you that this guy is very very good, and the main reason for that is how complete he is as a midfielder.
