You should be immune to the heartbreak this game causes and the ups and downs that come with it by now especially after the last few years. But whether it's up the road, or down the road, we always come out at the other end firing on all cylinders.
There is a snippet on a Wikipedia page that said the FA replaced him in the 2006 FA cup final because of concerns over his ability to remain impartial with Liverpool in the game. Although, as The Only Place To Be rightly pointed out. He could have sent of Ramires too. Conclusion he is an awful referee but we can't just go about blaming refs. 10 points dropped in 10 games is poor. Liverpool have won their passed 10.
Anybody see the Jose post match "I have only 4 things to say "Congratulations to my players because they gave what they have or what they don't have. Congratulations to Sunderland because they won. Congratulations to Mike Dean because he had a fantastic performance. And congratulations to Mike Riley for what they've done to make the season the way it is." Then he walked off. Seething.
Ok so we can't just blame the ref but here is an interesting snippet from Wikipedia: "Dean was originally appointed to referee the 2006 FA Cup final at the Millennium Stadium on 13 May 2006 but the Football Association later replaced him with Alan Wiley after concerns were raised about Dean's ability to be impartial towards Liverpool, who are based near his hometown in Wirral." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Dean_(referee)
Good point made by Martin Tyler there. The Spanish FA move heaven and earth to accommodate their countries clubs when playing in European competition. Yet we are playing today, Tuesday and then again next Saturday.
