All the big empires die for one reason: Taxation without representation. In all the Roman films James Mason argues in favour of incorporating the Gauls, the Brittons and the Allemans into the empire. The Powellite opposition becomes enraged and argue in favour of all these men being born to be slaves of Rome and eaten by the lions. The Powellites win and the empire crumbles

I 've been scratching my head for months now to find a similar case is in world football and what happened in the end. Teams that could n't keep up with the budget requirements I can recall a plenty - sold out the players or gradually fell from grace or reemerged after a few years when sponsors were found. Also transfer bans making it difficult for teams to renew their squad. But this ? Anyone with an idea ? United maybe ? Arsenal ?

This was not a match without scoring opportuunities, even after Gusto's red card. But if you shoot the pigeons consistently time after time after time what do you expect ? I am disillusioned even with Enzo. All he can do is sky the ball from the best of positions.

Then you consider all the players they have signed useless. Name them.

True. And with 11 men it's unlikely we would have conceded. Up front is the Sahara desert.

Rubbish.

Useless attackers once more, Jackson, Mudryk, even Enzo and Sterling missed a seater in the second half, before the sending off, that should have settled the match.

Look, from the age of eight. Back then my mom had a second cousin whose husband was a judge. So when she visited us she says that the radio commentator was her husband's bro and furthermore he was a fanatical supporter of Panathinaikos. I kept note of this and one of those days my dad took me to a football match for the first time. At the end for some reason I don't understand we had to walk across the pitch to get out. So there he was the commentator and he was gathering his equipment to go. I approach from behind and give him a good kick in the bum. I pity this now because he was the last one who spoke proper Greek. Nowadays they speak vazivuzukian.

My bet for tonight was Olympiakos. But they bottled it as usual.

United put to the sowrd. I like peeking at the scoreline every now and then and see it going up.

During our last two succesfull or moderately successful seasons we relied upon: Mount - Havertz - Werner - Pulisic - Giroud We dropped Werner, Giroud departed the other three turned into sh*te. Mount looked for a moment as the new Bobby Charlton of England - if I dare say this. What do you think has gone terribly wrong ? Today our forward line is -seriously- a barely premiership division forward line, We did n't like Joao Felix either but he is good in Barcelona now. Was he so useless for us or something else was to blame for his lack of productivity under Potter ?

The Falcao-Pato year was an exception. It's true we no longer go for the superstars -like Mbappe is today- if we ever went for those. In the case of Haaland we tried a little. But it's failure upon failure what is happening.

First we sacked Tuchel. The board thought there was something wrong with him but it was the players who were crap, not Tuchel. Potter enters. We did n't like him because we thought it was unfair what happened before with Thomas, also the results were not coming - but again it was the players who were crap. Then Lampard. Lampard may be the worst manager in the first eight football divisions of England but cannot be judged from his stay with that lot. Now Poch. Well, I think we now know what is going on. Yet I can understand lean years. Maybe three in a row. But where did the one billion go ??? When it was lean years in the seventies the club did n't have to pay the milkman.

Against a team of Morris dancers we need 20 halves to score a goal. Imagine what will happen further down the road.

What does he know, it's his subordinates and Marina is gone. I think we have lots of players from inferior leagues.

All our attackers are incredibly useless. Tiago at 39 is looking forward to a testimonial but if we ever win a match it will be him from a corner kick.

Eden Hazard was the world's best player. Ronaldo at Juve was no longer at his prime and Mbappe not born yet. Some favoured the short one, ok. But Eden was the best. But the difference with him and without him is huge.

Forget there is a Chelsea team capable of more than escaping relegation I 'm afraid. Given the amount of money spent it means they 're all unrelated to football in this club.

Is he moving to Arsenal. What am I reading ?

I did n't expect of him to destroy England yesterday but once again he did n't impress me.

I do believe that the antivaxers - antivaxer trolls should have been sent to Spinalonga island a long time ago. But there was always a drive to apply extreme censorship to the web. Mainly by the newspaper editors. In the very early days of the internet this thing happened: There was that guy who used to publish a weekly gazette called "the nightlife". It was something like a mini version of London Time Out, a guide of restaurants, tavernas, nightclubs, shows etc. He had already stopped publishing for some time it but I said to him "hey, what a good idea for a website - do it". As he was an internet illiterate he said "no" but he probably also thought about me that "maybe this man can do it on his own - produce a town nightlife on the internet". So he became very angry and he said "whoever tries something like that will be sent to prison immediately". I suppose he later understood that this could n't be done -send people to prison- but all the other journalists were like him.

Or is it ? Certainly we are -again- in a tight spot but there is more to it. Ask first what makes teams fall from grace ? There are three possible causes: 1) Sellout, all the good players are sold. This happens with teams-firework. They shine for one-two years, can't stand the economic pressure, prefer to sell out. 2) Aging players and a clueless board don't go to the market to find replacements. 3) Can't maintain the budget, accept their fate is to slide downwards (like case 1. but less rapid). But none of the above is true of Chelsea football club in 2023. So what ? I can't accept it is entirely the fault of either Thomas Tuchel, or Graham Potter, or even Frank Lampard. It is n't the fault of Poch either. Certainly not to the extent of the total of disastrous results we 've had. We have to look inside the team. I don't like it we gave away a goal to Forest yesterday, same as I did n't like it against Southampton late last season. But those used to be acceptable casualties in battle. More often than not we would easily come back. It looks like we have nothing up front and Jackson is not the wonder medicine. May prove useful but he is not the wonder drug. For Mudryk I have already stated my case (should be allowed to stay under brexit rules, profession pizza). Nkunku was a Bundesliga star. But he's currently out. It was Olivier Giroud the last one who could pull things out of the fire. After him nothing. Yesterday's attack formation was a 100% Potter team.
