  1. Fingers crossed. My best pre season bets: - 1998 FRANCE-BRAZIL finalist pairs - won - 2000 FRANCE-HOLLAND fianalist pairs - shopkeeper counted the shop's money twice and Reikardt kept shooting penalites wide - 2004 CZECHIA - PORTUGAL finalist pairs - Greece spoiled it. If you win you can send me some a carton of Dimples. The hotel in which the air stewardesses go between flights is just across the road from my house.
  2. Beano stuff. In England you don't have club press. There are the fan zones now and the forums but in the old years you had no such newspapers. So there is no "Liverpool news" in the stands nor "Arsenal news". When first came to London I showed the fans some Greek newspapers with colour covers -like Sun more or less- and they said wow look at that. At around the same time Baines had sold Charlie Cook to Newcastle so I said "come here you, why London ain't burning yet ?" to which an elderly Chelsea supporter replied "listen here young man, Charlie Cooke played for us so why not play for Newcastle as well ?". Reminiscences ... But this one Liverpool guy foots the bill for the proverbial "Sid and Doris Bonkers" award. Terry will jump into the Mersey he fancies ...
  3. I made undefeated run from September to March, then blew it. I was placing bets carelessly.
  4. Early in the season I believed Chelsea, MU, City do well but no win, Liverpool maybe and Arsenal no way.
  5. I did. Arsenal=jokers, UTD=Moyes, City=habitual losers. But Pool were doing poorly in December, January so they came to be unfancied. We blew it -insofar as it's not over yet- but I don't think they will be happy in the end.
  6. ... of some Chelsea interest. I had only a brief look before and I was surprised Barcelona were the bookies favourites. So I thought those were double finals, but I saw the terraces and they were not those of Nuevo Camp. 1-1 however now.
  7. Barcelona 1-0 down to Real. Where is that match being held ? Does n't look like Nuevo Camp to me.
  8. Wickham is their danger men. Scocco too - he can score like Rooney at West Ham.
  9. Never mind - mission accomplished by Sunderland.
  10. Sunderland destroys City. Wickham scored both - Scocco playing well.
  11. It's good Arsenal win cause we desperately need a motivated Everton against City. The LFC - Chelsea game is an away win from here to Madagascar.
  12. You have notifications chases people around like mad referee with red card. We can see the bell.
  13. The illuminatti were the ancient civil engineers. How the heck were you going to pass exams in civil engineering in 2000 bc Egypt, Greece, China ? Nowadays they give us a CSE paper and it says "this is a riveted joint strut, find the Euler equation, stretch modulus, amount of cement needed". If you don't know you are off. But the Egyptians had to ask the Pharaoh. Hence the houses were falling on top of their heads and they were all being killed. The only way to get around this was for the illuminatti to spot the smart kids in the neighbourhood and give them the title of civil engineer or architect. As with all types of old institutions, the momentum carried the illuminatti forward and the institution survived floods, wars, political changes, religious changes so they are still around. What the conspiracy theorists do not understand is that if we had 20-30 conspiracy movements in ancient times, now we have 20,000-30,000. Hence the chase for the secret illuminatti society is futile - we are doomed.
  14. Suarez handles to control the ball and then makes the pass to Skrtel.
  15. L'pool - Man City 3-2: The 2-2 and the 3-2 were giveaways - micky mouse goals. Chance of handball in the making of Liverpool's first.
  16. If we don't beat Liverpool I 'm going to eat a cat.
  17. I don't like Arsenal to sink. If a miracle happens tomorrow, we need them to keep Everton busy.
  18. Eliminated by Aris Salonika (!) in 2010. They had Aguerro-Forlan also then:
  19. This thread is from 2012. We lost 1-4 (the European super cup). We wait for the new thread. Atletico were the easiest opponent on paper among the three - but I always expected them to lick Barcelona as they did. It's a team I watched several times this season. Impressive most times but some fail performences too. They are certainly not Barcelona of the best of days but better than PSG by a margin. Like in 2012 I believe if we get through and it is Real it's going to be easy and less so if it is Bayern.
  20. Hmmm - they show Greece exactly level with Ivory Coast. But Ivory have the two Toures plus Didier who is always a force plus Kalou. Our best is the injured Mitroglou then you have to go for Karagounis who is a 1998 player. FIFA's publications are likewise suspect. There must be someone more accurate. There used to be one from Scotland ...
  21. Well I don't know ... I have my suspicions but, who knows of any better ? The obviously suspect figure is that of Galata Saray, 1648. Chelsea is 292 above the Turks. Surely we are above them but by that much ? A 292 point difference makes them a pub team. I don't know how they work. I 'd be interested if there is someone better.
