  1. My all time favourite manager is Jene Chaknady German-Hungarian, managed teams up to circa 1975. He made those ancient players run like motors and we saw football of the 2000s back in 1968. Also very strict. If you were late for the training session you were sent home.
  2. They were n't shit. Decent side, last year too. The slow motion was -I think- because we were ahead most of the time (but only by one goal). You are absolutely right that apart from "Hazard system" we seem to have no other weapon of attack. That's a big minus.
  3. I have two shit in my head. My Greek team out of the cup in exact fcucking carbon copy way (1-1 first leg then giveaway goal in the 89th minute - probable handball). 5 to 7 pm Greek tragedy then 7.45 to 9.45 Chelsea tragedy. At least I did not make bets. Ball is a prostituta.
  4. There has been progress since last year. Look: 2013-14 Average goals for = 1.86, average points = 2.16 2014-15 Average goals for = 2.11, average points = 2.33 and it's not our fault City are not doing well -till now- to give us stiff competition and Pool are in the doledrums. In Europe it's a different story. From what appears to be the consensus of opinion our strengths are limited and our best hope was a draw against Porto or (say) Juve who are considered weak at this stage of the tournament. Maybe Atletico too who are not the force they were last year. We were eliminated by the narrowest of margins by a competent side. They scored with two lucky headers but what about Kavani's open goal chance and the three Courtois saves ? Nevertheless I still maintain we were attacking in unorthodox slow motion way and it's not as if we are short of strikers.
  5. Well then you are a follower of -yesterday's- Mourinho system. Don't forget that for 105 minutes out of the total of 120 it was working and we were ahead. But I 'm against attack for the sake of possession, especially when things are on balance. That way we score one goal every six months. Also some think of PSG as some sort of Burnley who normally cannot string two passes. They 're not and we had to score goals to be on the safe side. Otherwise the ball decides (and the ball is a pr*stitute).
  6. I don't like the sterility up front. The old school of EPL players were types who when given the ball bumped straight onto the first defender (British players only those days). Peter Osgood was something of an exception, in the skills department. Then they crossed from too deep and that was useless. Things got modernized and the managers who knew their job brought more skillful players. It was ok to cross but you had to carry the ball down the wing - close to the by line or thereabouts. Now we have this endless passing. Hoping the defenders will fall asleep - like the West Ham defenders did and left Hazard unmarked. But overall it does n't work. It looks more like a time wasting scheme to me. This is why we could n't score today, also against Everton, Burnley and others. In the end today's goal in normal time was one out of ancient English football -the type Brian Clough hated- as it turned out.
  7. No La Liga was always stiff to predict. I believe it's the psychology. In some countries when they are two goals down the throw the towel. In England, no - they fight. There is a tendency for things to equilibrate in that side of the affairs. The issue who can do it in Europe, is another matter though.
  8. Here are the predictability indices of the various European leagues: ENGLAND = 36.2% SPAIN = 36.3% ITALY = 36.7% GERMANY = 36.4% FRANCE = 36.4% PORTUGAL = 36.3% GREECE = 37.1% BELGIUM = 37.2% The closest the number is to 33%, the more difficult the league. England appears to be marginally the hardest. Some say it's the number of good teams, of championship quality, that makes the difficulty index. So Greece is easy because there are only one-two good teams and if we make 4-5 good teams Greek league will become like EPL. Others say it's the difference in psychology between the various countries. The bookies tend to believe the latter theory. About Belgium I don't know many things but this is the figure that comes out for Belgium.
  9. La ligue is only slightly easier than EPL statistics say.
  10. That was the 2nd serious clash of the season. The two matches against City was the other one. So it's basically those four matches that make up the season and as critics we have to look into them. Who is stronger than City in England -after us- and who is stronger than PSG in Europe among those we played against ? So it's 4 1-1 draws and the elimination. The forward line was found wanting.
  11. Nah. He 's silly. Not even a good troll.
  12. Ban. He is here only to utter nonsense. Last year we had some good French visitors to make conversation.
  13. It's not as if we were given much time for the 2-0 or the 3-1. But we were very slow. This team could n't win the CL. Was going to be a miracle. I know the international team ratings are a bit erratic but they have us a massive amount of points behind the main contenders (and level pegging with PSG before tonight). To make CL winning team more is needed. In 2012 with the exception of Barcelona -against whom we were very lucky- it wan n't so. In fact it might have been easier but with Bayern Munich getting the benefit of the home venue, the final became a little tricky.
  14. He failed to spot Cesc in the 110th minute. That would have sealed it. I don't see Diego Costa leaving a Drogba like legend behind him when he departs unless some nuts in his head are fixed. The job of haranguing Ruis is a defender's job to begin with, not his. And even that is no use, because we don't live in the 1960s - the refs pop out the cards and it's over.
  15. I hate the passing game. I like fast action. By the time we decide to do something it's past midnight. It's like the USSR of old if you remember and I disagree with Mourinho's idea to copy it from Barcelona. Well, not when you are held at 0-0 anyway ! I don't think parking the bus was his mistake tonight, unless you think PSG were the team that should n't be able to make a single attack or create nothing (like Burnley - Aston Villa might be). If you look for a Mourinho mistake, it's what I mention. Mourinho went great guns for this type of deployment this season. Last season, with Eto-Lamps-Torres he was n't doing that. You see Willian going down the right flank, or Ivanovitch and they can't find anybody in the area. It's only red shirts in there. So we go for the endless circles. Goals don't come and we wait and wait and wait. In the end the goal that did come (Cahill's) was certainly not one out of Mourinho's book of orthodoxy. In the old days with Didier-Essien and company, he was not into that.
  16. I 've seen 10 men playing better than 11 recently. It was Roma versus Juventus - ended 1-1. I don't think Mourinho's job is to defend corner kicks and I don't think PSG were the team we should n't expect to mount some challenges. The problem was our attack imho, even though we scored two (one + one in extra time). Slow motion, Costa playing cowboys and indians with Luiz.
  17. No because we were rank outsider in this one. But it's pathetic what happened.
  18. I don't like the endless passing game up front. It's hold on Turks to fill the arms. Did n't like Barca -with all due respect- doing it either.
  19. We weren't going to win this CL. We were the Costa Rika team in what remains of the competition - s*d the possibility of a lucky draw against Porto. But I wanted us to reach the maximum by knocking out Paris. Costa made a piss out of it. The amount of time he spends to think of Spanish curse words to say to Luiz could have been spent on the game.
  20. Costa fcucked it up when he missed Fabergas.
  21. The idea is they should n't score the way things are - but they 're ten and it's difficult for them. Last year we let them acres of space because we were after the second & we were lucky.
  22. Ibrahimovic kicked Oscar real bad - he might have been excused with a yellow but it was a mighty kick. The penalty against Diego Costa was obvious. The forces of nature have to conspire for this to go PSG's way.
