From what I understand, he didn't extend his contract only got a raise in salary so either way, Conte wins
-
And then he added 3 more goals vs a woeful Las Palmas team. Many of them tap-ins in the box and some penalties as well. Add to the fact he's not exactly a player that elevates the level of his teammates, overdribbles, runs into blind alleys, is an extreme individualist and is very inconsistent for a "global superstar" PSG have been duped. Messi is the one who does all the heavy lifting for Barcelona. That type of money is just totally unjustified for any footballer. It's scandalous and makes me a bit disillusioned with the game I grew up loving. The only way I can contemplate paying that is for a 20 year old Messi. With the added cavaeat that Messi is able to replicate exactly what he's done for Barcelona over the years.

I don't see why I'm all of a sudden an American?!

The best attacking players Hazard has played with in his Chelsea career are Mata and Fabregas. Neither one of them will be first XI players at any of the best teams in the world. He's also played with some really mediocre players of which I'll rather not name. Hazard is one of the best players on the planet. He plays in the most difficult and competitive league in the world. We've been waiting for 5 years for a transfer window were we can help surround this special player with geniune world class players. Instead it's Morata, Bakayoko and Rudiger. If Hazard had the same personality (and dare I say it, ambition?!) as some of the other top players he regurlarly get compared with, he'll have been angling for a move away by now.
-
He's very good but he's established himself in the first team and the owners and management are really happy with him as he's an academy player. I also see no reason why he'll want to leave Paris.
-
Up to this point, can anyone seriously say our board has given this man what he deserves in terms of transfers, despite massively overachieving last season? Have we not learnt from 2 seasons ago and is our board going to overrate the quality of our squad yet again? We haven't improved our squad at all in my opinion. All in all, extremely underwhelming.
-
Non sequitur. If you're going to respond at least have some decency and respond to what I was communicating.
-
David Luiz, Willian, Hazard, Pedro, Fabregas the only ones that raise up our technical level. Other top teams have them in abundance in every position. We have bricklayers instead sprinkled with some decent technique. And we wonder why we can't pass the ball from te back and struggle to string 3,4 passes together vs the strong clubs.
-
Kante is mediocre against any sort of technical midfield chasing shadows like a headless chicken. Player of the Year in England though for tackles and interceptions. Wow. We basically get dominated in midfield against any good midfield. It's not just about 3-4-3 or any formation. Spurs dominated us by matching our system
-
Time for some better players more like. We're miles away from the likes of Bayern, Madrid and Barcelona and the board expect Conte to perform miracles in the Champions League.
-
3-0 This is now just pathetic
-
I'm just glad we didn't sign him when we had the possibility to back in the day and we have Hazard instead. He'll have been holding us to ransom now. He and his money-grubbing father.
-
Messi is not a winger and never has been. That's absurd. Bale is only a shadow of the player he once was. Have you seen him recently? He's lost his a yard and he looks average these days. I don't want to write him off completely but Pedro and Willian are ahead for now. James (useless on the wings), Mertens (a second striker), Douglas Costa (are you having a laugh?), Muller (shocking last season, very average), Griezmann ( a second striker), Sanchez - Hazard - Neymar (none are Right wingers). Di Maria is debatable but he was woeful in the Premier League. I don't doubt his ability but I have my doubts about him. You can sort of argue KDB as he's played that position sufficient amount of times. Dembele and Robben are the only actual right wingers that are better. Willian is better than Sane for now though Sane has huge potential. Seriously some shocking takes on TalkChelsea. I don't know if it's just ignorance of football or/and overrating other club's players and underrating ours. Willian continues to be laughably underrated despite adding goals to his game, being one of the best freekick takers in the league and looking almost as unplayable as Hazard is at times. What the fuck more do you want?
-
It's my opinion. He was our stand out player the season before and maybe the guy ahead of him is one of the best right wingers in Europe. Who are the stand right wingers in Europe in the world these days? Name them and the list isn't that extensive to exclude Pedro and Willian.
-
I will seriously prefer if Boga didn't go on loan next season and instead was integrated into the first team. I've always considered him our biggest talent in the youth team (which is saying a LOT). Hazard, Willian, Pedro and Boga. That's just scary. Please, Antonio make it happen.
-
Not stating anything revolutionary but he's become a great player before our very eyes. He's massively improved so much in the last two seasons. The contrast beween the player he was then and now is obvious. He is now one of the best wingers in the Premier league and in my opinion, one of the best right wingers in Europe. Willy is fantastic and I like his personality as well.
-
All the hype about "world class" Costa (he's not world class) and Batman continue to make him look inept with not just goals but brilliant all round displays. It's a shame he didn't get a proper run in last season. He's a very talented player and I think we have a potential player on our hands. Conte needs to manage him properly next season.
-
http://gianlucadimarzio.com/it/calciomercato-il-chelsea-avanza-per-morata-le-ultime Di Marzio reckons it's over and we now have our focus on Morata. Let's better hope Morata can guarantee goals for us. Very strange events so far. Shades of 2010 and 2015 in it's weirdness.
-
The only way we can save face now is if Costa and Conte can kiss and make up. But the former is an unstable psycho and will love to hold the club to ransom. He's been angling for a move away from us the moment he stepped into the club. Let's not forget his ridiculous behaviour in January with the whole China affair.
-
It's just sad to witness what is happening with this club just after Conte delivers a *bonus* Premier league title. We are so poorly run for what is now a global brand of a football club.
-
Our board has seen sense at the last moment. Insane to let a player with his level of goalscoring potential join Mourinho and we just sit back and do nothing. Lukaku will easily eclipse Costa's goalscoring peaks for us. Under the guidance of Conte, he can become of one the best strikers in the world. He's just 24 and he's already one of the best in the league and I'm sure Conte will improve his work ethic for the cause. I pulled this off the Guardian comments section: From Whoscored (if you feel the statistics presented is not accurate, do crosscheck it yourself): Bad control per game (UnsTCh) index is headed by Zaha with 3.3 per game Costa - 3.2 King - 2.8 Kane - 2.8 Januzaj - 2.8 Shaqiri - 2.7 Benteke - 2.6 Pogba - 2.6 Aguero - 2.5 Arnautovic - 2.5 Guess who is number 2. We watch him every week and we know how often he loses the ball with his poor control and the stats just happen to back that up. Lukaku with his "terrible touch" is not even in the top 10.
-
I've been thinking about this for quite a while now and we HAVE to sign Lukaku if Costa is leaving. Normally when a fairly young striker shows the massive improvement he did last season, being the 2nd highest goalscorer in the league at 24 playing for a 7th placed team, it tells me he's on his way to being a world class player. We can't let him go to United. We will seriously end up regretting it.
-
Considering we sold Oscar for the amount we sold him for and if *apparently* Conte really wants Lukaku then why are we acting cash-strapped?
-
I'm worried now about the whole transfer business we're supposed to be doing. Seriously worried. We've been utterly wank so far. No other way around it. Lukaku's goal scoring record is elite in exactly the same competition we play in for a clearly inferior team. The fact he has a questionable first touch and technique isn't grounds for some of the absurd criticisms of him I've read on the internet. Diego Costa isn't exactly the most technically brilliant striker either and we made it work but so many people are losing their minds over Lukaku. Okay, he can't press the opposition like Costa can but Lukaku is better in the air and at shielding the ball. I've expressed my feeling towards Morata elsewhere. I like him, and I can see how his qualities will be better suited to the way we play generally and the way teams play against us, but Lukaku has more goals than Morata has league games played. Belotti has had one good season and I'm not that confident in the transition from Serie A to Premier league especially for strikers. I read Ducker on twitter suggesting Conte won't be happy as Lukaku was his primary target (accoring to the Telegraph). What are our plans now?
