Away games like this are tough for our wingers. We weren't playing well for the first 60 mins of the game. Not his fault. We can't just moan when he has bad games but not praise him for his good games as the last few posts on his page have done. Willian has been playing well recently so some balance should do.

Many thought he couldn't/wouldn't make forward passes which could potentially be a problem if he's Kante's main midfield partner. The fact that he's making them is the main point of focus. Whether they were perfect or not is a moot point.

What do you expect for your first game in the Premier League playing away to a side like Stoke. He's not used to that sort of intensity from the minnow sides.

Really? I thought he was good considering this was a typical PL away game with the tempo and aeriel balls. I think he showed nice technique with the ball. Quick forward intelligent passes. I knew about his physical tools and ability to run with the ball and dribble in tight spaces but we're using him a bit different from Monaco. There he was more of a holding midfielder and for us Conte has given him licence to roam. He's like a cheat player with how big and powerful he is. Different players but Toure-esque.

There goes the myth that Chelsea need Costa to fight for the Premier League or we need a certain "type" of striker. Morata is the better striker. More technically gifted, greater footballing IQ, not a nutter.Too much focus on Costa's physicality but that's not really Conte's football. Gabriel Jesus has 14 goals in 16 starts for City and is just 20. Saying he's not a goal getter isn't exactly accurate. The kid scores. I think the point is Man City lacked the dual threat they now have from the fullback positions and the runs Mendy and Walker make really open up the pitch for their other star players. Playing with 3 at the back also helps them to shore up their defense while at the the same time allowing for both Gabriel Jesus and Aguero to play as central strikers thus no over-reliance on one man to score. It also helps Jesus is now available from the start of the season this time.

The only reason the Mane red is even a talking point is because he plays for Liverpool. If he played for us, it will be 100% clear cut anyone speaking against it ridiculed and mocked.
