Flop of the match : Jose Mourinho. And those who were typing "Fuck Lamps" on the live match thread should be utterly ashamed of themselves.
-
Unacceptable tactics today. He's unfortunately showing to be a one trick pony in the away matches this season. Play "counter-attacking" football and hope for the best. If the opponent doesn't allow you to, park the bus and defend for your lives. WTF is the point of Hazard, Fabregas, Willian and co if Mourinho won't let them express themselves instead they are turned to fullbacks away from home vs the big teams. Painful to watch.
-
Mourinho has been a big disappointment with his horrendously predictable tactics. Painful to watch. We didn't deserve to win anyway.
-
We're playing vs 10 men but we still allow them dominate us. What do you expect? Also goal from Ivanovic's flank again. Fucking shite.
-
Psychological warfare, Pellegrini you son of a biatch
-
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Beautiful from Hazard and Costa!
-
Are we finally going to come out and play football now?
-
This can't be simply about the players. What does Mourinho spend time in training doing with them? Practicing counter-attacks 24/7? Because that's how it looks now. Massively inferior sides to ours have given City a better game than we've shown so far. A team is a reflection of its manager. The penny drops with the manager.
-
I watched the match. Bayern didn't "struggle" against City. They were the superior side, wasting many chances and if not for some heroics from Hart, they would have embarrassed City. And they didn't have their two best players. Ribery was out, Robben had a cameo appearance.
-
And Courtois continues to thump the ball upfield to nobody in particular while Joe Hart chooses to roll it to a defender and play out from the back.
-
You're right. Willian is only partially to blame for giving the ball away. It's the way that the team is playing that is influencing bad decisions from our players.
-
I hope Jose really get's stuck into the boys. We're making City look better than they actually are. We need to get Hazard more on the ball but in order to do that, we need to dictate the tempo of the game more through keeping possession. Even if it's passive possession for the sake of it. The way we're playing now is simply unacceptable and if it continues, the press are going to rip into Mourinho in the papers tomorrow. Even Stoke City have shown more ambition than we've shown so far at the Etihad.
-
You need to stop with that nonsense you say every game. We've barely managed to string two or three passes together in the final third. What do you expect him to do? He's been clever in the little possession he's had on the ball.
-
Just looking at the stats. We've had only 1 shot in the entire match which was blocked. So zero shots on or off target.
-
Now both of their CM's have yellow cards. Nice.
-
So far there's only one team willing to play football. Massively disappointing so far. If this continues, it's only a matter of time before we concede. Our attacking players have barely even touched the ball in advanced areas.
-
We need to retain ball possession. Surely maintaining possession actually means something in these sort of matches instead of relying on counter-attacks as always with all the calibre of players we have. Predictable so far.
-
No one is saying he should be a regular starter at the club but I'm yet to convinced that Salah offers anything better than he does. We shall see
-
The sack Alan Pardew site is very impressive indeed. http://sackpardew.com/
-
He was one of our best players in the Europa league run and one of our most impressive players in Jose's first pre-season. He should never have been loaned to Liverpool in the first place.
-
Hughes is a pretty underrated manager. Stoke have improved a lot under him and are playing some beautiful, counter-attacking football. I like the balance of their team.
-
And Moses continues to prove why didn't deserve to be leave Chelsea and be loaned to Liverpool. Pity some don't rate him.
-
Bayern and Barcelona aren't afraid to use their most promising talents like Gaudino and Samper in important matches. I long for the day we do the same with the likes of Baker and Boga. I remember watching Samper in the Nextgen Barca vs Chelsea game alongside Boga on the same pitch. Boga was the best player on the pitch that day. No reason why he can't get a start in the league one of these days.

Remember this
-
He hardly ever scored any from outside the box for Atletico. He's a penalty box striker so don't expect 30 yard screamers a'la Ibrahimovic.
