I actually thought he was very poor defensively. The goal kind of masked his performance, but he didn't provide anywhere near enough cover for our backline as he got caught out far too many times. His passing was also poor, but that's normal for him I guess.

Also notice how once we got the first 2 goals, the ref was all of a sudden against us, he and his officials. As if they were trying to compensate for something. I HATE it when that happens. This game should have been over when Howard handled it out of the 18 yard box. Let's not forget that.

If Costa truly is injured (the fact that its a recurrence of a hamstring injury makes it worse) then we have no one to blame but ourselves. With all the time Mourinho has spent eulogizing over Costa in the media, we should have been going all out to sign a alternative. Aguero hasn't even started any of City's games so because Jovetic has been simply amazing but yet the media want to declare us title favourites? Baloney. You don't go to war with only one competent striker when your main title rivals have four. Hopefully, it's not a serious tear and it's just a strain. Mini disaster

Perfectly justified decision but Torres leaving on loan > van Ginkel leaving on loan, IMO, so it's mixed feelings. We still need 1 foreign player off our roster if we don't sign anyone and the attention will probably swing back to Cech. Also, to sign Destro, which is the most important thing now, we need to let go of 2 foreign players.

At least he doesn't have to bear the ignominy of being constantly labelled the "costliest transfer in British football history" by the media again. The icing on the cake will be Milan taking him off our hands.
