  1. For me, it's extremely important we surround Hazard with more quality, especially in the number 10 and possibly the right wing position(s), (though tbf, Willian is doing a lot recently to make me change my mind about him). These positions have been a clear weakness in this team for a while now. Needs fixing in the summer. Anyway, More footage from the awards ceremony. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBWZ65TQOB0 Very very good article from Alan Shearer on Hazard : http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/32476133 And check the domination:
  2. A haphazard is better than no Hazard at all
  3. Tomorrow, Hazard will most definitely be announced player of the year at the awards ceremony in London, after the Arsenal vs Chelsea game. They've probably already told him he's won it, as they tell the winners prior, so that they can get ready. Lamps will be there also to receive an honorary award from the PFA.
  4. Looks like Drogba will start with Costa on the bench at best. Not ideal.
  5. HeilRJ, the absolute living youtube legend I recommend. There is also JavierNathaniel and the lesser known gundoganed. There is also an "eden hazard" channel that uploads videos of almost every Hazard game.
  6. Forget about Neville. He has always had the tendency to make sly digs at Hazard when I hear him. I think he is still bitter he snubbed his club in 2012. If Hazard were a United player, I'm sure he'll be worshipping him the same way he does De Gea. As much as I like Neville, he is not immune from the partisan rubbish sometimes, if you pay close attention
  7. Seriously, the quality of comments on this thread is appalling most of the time. I honestly think this is the worst player thread on the forum. Why? If some posters are bored and have nothing interesting to contribute between match-days, just stop repeating the same nonsense that's been refuted over and over again on Hazard's thread. Will Hazard ever score 50 goals like Ronaldo and Messi? No. Does he have to score 50 goals fulfill his dream of becoming an all time great player? No. Did players before Messi and Ronaldo need 50 goals a season to be all time great players and ballon d'Or winners? No. Is he on the right track to fulfilling the career goals he has set for himself? Yes. And that's all that matters. Nine months ago on this thread, I set Eden a personal target at the start of the season to win the PFA player of the year and establish himself as the best player in the league. He is well on his way to doing just that while simultaneously dragging the team to its first title in 5 years. I interpret demanding anything else right now as the usual suspects trolling and seeking attention like little kids. Hazard has exceeded expectation and I couldn't be happier with the lad.
  8. Hazard has 98 career club goals and he's 24. Zidane had 125 career club goals in his entire career and he's one of the best players of all time and a Real Madrid legend. Same with Luis Figo who had 133 career club goals. Can we stop with the nonsense please.
  9. I like feroze17, but his videos a tad overrated tbh.
  10. We don't need Ramires, he's been terrible in almost every game he's played this season. Or Mikel who hasn't played in months. We don't need Zouma starting in midfield, for the reasons Kellzfresh said. Enough of this reactive shit. We aren't a small club cowering in fear of mighty Arsenal. Remember, this is the same team that got played off the park by Monaco when they were "good form" . I've already said this reactive, "pragmatic" way of thinking slowly creeping into Jose and some of the fans is bad for the long term evolution of the team. Courtois Azpilicueta Cahill JT Luis Matic Fabregas Willian Oscar Hazard Costa/Remy (if either is fit to start) Are you seriously telling me the team above isn't more than capable of giving Arsenal one hell of a game regardless of what form they are in? I absolutely believe in those players.
  11. Care to reveal the name of this football site?
  12. All of a sudden, Zidane's comments are now everywhere.
  13. I dunno. That's what I'm asking.
  14. I think Costa might at least make the bench for this one if Drogba is injured. Remy "had a knock" before the QPR game but has been out for days now. Mourinho said there was more than a 50% chance he could have played vs Man United, so he could start. I really, really hope Zouma doesn't start in midfield in this game. It doesn't make much sense for him to.
  15. There is risk in every system. We should be looking to impose our game on the opposition instead of reacting to what they might or might not do. Matic and Fabregas is no more or less solid than Cazorla and Coquelin.
  16. We had all our weapons against PSG and still didn't do jack shit. We parked the bus in the 1st leg and were very lucky to escape with a 1-1. Heck, we parked the bus vs Liverpool in the 1st leg of the COC semi-final with all our weapons against a team whose 1st XI isn't half as good as ours and with a lot of inexperienced players. That was arguably the first time we really played completely defensively for 90 minutes with no ambition to win. It is not a coincidence that Mourinho did this after Spurs beat us 5-3. He is naturally a very cautious manager and wanted to avoid another trashing against a good team. I can't really fault him for not trying. We at least tried to play away to United and Liverpool to varying success earlier in the season. Even in those games, the team was lacking ideas in the final 3rd and didn't look like a team comfortable and confident enough to kill the game off. Which is Mourinho's overly cautious nature rubbing off on the players. Something that has cost his team's in the past, especially in the Champions league. Neville called it months ago (even though, obviously, he didn't want to publicly criticize Jose in the video). Almost prophetic. (Skip the Scouse gibberish to minute 4:30)
  17. The fickle nature of this forum is at times shocking.
  18. That's what he needs to focus on in the summer. I saw pictures of him playing table tennis with Eden on his instagram and his legs are the width of twigs. Even for his age and build, his legs were far too thin. If he wants to accelerate his development, he needs to at least build up his leg muscles.
  19. I think top 5 is a position we can all agree on, especially as the top 2 are certainties and he's the youngest. I'm just happy we have a player than can be spoken of in the same breath as all time greats by manager/players who have managed Ronaldo and/or faced Messi on many occasions.
  20. Even if we sign Koke, we will still be a fairly low-scoring (by the very best in Europe's standards), pretty inefficient team, with only Diego Costa and Hazard as legitimate goal threats. And who knows if Diego will still have problems with his hamstring next season. Unless we want him as a direct replacement for Oscar, I'm against it.
  21. Mourinho on Hazard "knowing" he's one of the top 3 players in the world. Amazing how these statements always have to be qualified because of Messi and Ronaldo. 10 years ago, you could easily say great player "x" was the best in the world. But those two have set an incredible marker and that's earned. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3046284/Eden-Hazard-one-three-best-players-world-beams-Chelsea-manager-Jose-Mourinho-Manchester-United-win.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed
  22. The thing is Robben is playing in a Mickey Mouse league for such a vastly superior team, Hazard is not. Just look at the thrashings some of the German teams have gotten in Europe. Schalke 0-5 Chelsea, Wolfsburg 0-3 Everton (seriously), Everton 4-1 Wolfsburg , Schalke 1-5 Man United, off the top of my head and then Napoli just crushed Wolfsburg just recently. They are 4th in Serie A, a league many people mock. How many half decent teams are in the Bundesliga when your 2nd best team got outclassed home and away by the 12th place team in England? You have to admit Robben has a big advantage in any head to head comparison you want to make. For me, Hazard is better than him from observing the ability of both players. At least try and make a convincing case for Arjen instead of an open ended statement. You can DM it to me, so we don't hijack this thread with another boring Hazard vs "x" player discussion. I'll message you back.
