  1. I was just saying that things seemed to cool down on that front yesterday. So much for that. Levi staying should be a cert at this point, regardless of fee. He's a liability. I don't have too many concerns with him staying with no European football to worry about, but having him fill for a prolonged period across a 50+ game season is suicidal.
  2. I'm with you to a large degree, but should we really cut our noses to spit our faces, so to speak? If a deal is beneficial to us, I wouldn't be against it. Selling our players to them—forget that.
  3. Both of those players would fit us like a glove, and IMO, Barella is a better option. This Caicedo saga is dragging on far too long at this point.
  4. This is exactly what came to mind. If Liverpool were to offer £80m for someone who was even a regular at Brighton, I'd snap their hands off and use that cash to reignite our interest in Gvardiol, seeing as the links with City have died down. As good as Bastoni is, do we really want to deal with Inter again after the last two seasons?
  5. Scores like a machine? He scored 20 or more goals in all competitions for the first time last season, and in a few months, he will turn 25. The absolute most I'd consider spending is £50m, and even then, there's still a chance it may go the way of the last two players we acquired from the Bundesliga.
  6. I'd have to agree. Kane & Osimhen are the only options that are worth pursing, and with neither likely to join, we'd be better off sticking with what we have. A goal-scoring winger would be a nice stopgap till Jan or next summer, as I have the same worries as others here - Where are our goals going to come from?
  7. I just see pace. If that front line comes up against a physical defence, I see the same problems remaining. Spending almost £100m on unproven strikers (IMO) over a reliable one would sum up our transfer dealings.
  8. We gave a number of academy players a chance while we were transfer banned, and only James has shown he's up to the task. If they can't step up or deliver on a regular basis, there isn't much more we can do.
  9. This is exactly how I feel. There's no point in delaying the inevitable if a serious offer does come our way.
  10. I get the sense that this will happen sooner rather than later. He might be HG, but I can see a similar situation to Thibo's transpiring should he remain this summer.
  11. I feel like his career will follow the likes of Ben Arfa, Payet, or, for a short period, Nasri. Talent isn't enough to succeed anymore, and there's also talk about his overall application or lack of.
  12. That figure isn't good value either. £85m and not a penny more is pushing it as is. Also, I don't wanna hear about Rice as a comparison.
  13. Drop that money off at the Bernabeu for one of their midfield options. Enough of the games at this point.
  14. I'm loosing track of these supposed "budgets" for youth and our main squad. It's slowly turning into a football management game rather than real life.
  15. Less is more when it comes to De Laurentiis. I have no idea how many players he has likely priced out of a move away for his own benefit. It will be a sad sign if he ends back in Ligue 1. It's terrible to see players squander their prime years over there.
  16. I'm talking about carrying on from where they left off after coming to the EPL. The latter two had a notable drop off, but I'll agree with Auba; he was a relatively consistent goalscorer for a large part of his time at Arsenal. My comment was largely based on CF's inability to deliver similar numbers, which most have fallen foul of. Also, I was thinking more of the mid-2010s onward, considering a lot has changed.
  17. I actually forgot about him, tbh. He was a top prospect going back to his time in Austria, so he seemed like a nailed on success. His numbers last season exceeded most people's expectations. Let's see if that continues.
  18. Do Haller and Jovic ring any bells? I'm sceptical about attackers coming from Germany in general, as most have failed to show up after making the move in recent times. Dzeko and Son are the only two that come to mind who were exceptions.
  19. Osimhen. Not only is he the perfect fit, but he would actually love to play for the club and follow in his idol's footsteps (Drogba). There's no point going on about price at this point when Mbappe will probably end up costing two or three times more when all is said and done. However, if the club really think Vlahovic is the solution, I'll be disappointed. Bono is literally the answer. It all comes down to how set he is on remaining in Spain.
  20. I feel like we either need a WC GK or CF during this window. If we fail to sign either, it will come back to haunt us before Christmas.
  21. Him and Kepa leaving as well would be the cherry on top in terms of outgoings. I was talking about it in general with regards to PSG's dominance compared to those in Eredivisie. No side is head and shoulders above the other in the latter, so it makes sense that a number of teams have a fighting chance of winning the league title. Just look at what the Englishman with a Dutch accent did over there only a decade or so ago.
  22. They don't exactly rule the league in the same fashion Bayern do: Lille, Monaco, and Montpelier won the league since PSG were taken over, and they scrapped past the finishing line last season. Eredivisie might be more competitive on the whole, but the top sides in Ligue 1 are far superior.
  23. You and I both City's interest in him just made matters worse, and Boehly was willing to throw silly money around due to the circumstances.
  24. They know it worked last year. Whoever is dealing with negotiations needs to make a final offer and say, take it or leave it. We don't need this dragging on because Brighton keeps moving the goalposts, from the sounds of things.
  25. This Mbappe saga is getting tiresome now. Will he, won't he, can they afford him, etc. The second point is awful on so many levels. It honestly feels like Spanish and Italian FA's don't care in the slightest and will only start doing so when those being subject to such disgusting behaviour boycott games affecting them, where it really hurts.
