  1. His performances in Argentina have demonstrated that he has promise, but do we really want to take the opportunity and maybe halt his growth in the process? It's a hard one that only Poch will have the answer to. Before giving him a significant part in the club, I'm leaning towards loaning him out to a team like Fulham for a season to let him get used to the Premier League and hope he performs (I know Gallagher went down that route).
  2. Scored his 7th goal of the tournament. His best yet!
  3. I agree with you for the most part, but a number of managers at the latter end of Roman's ownership seemingly lost their jobs because players just downed tools or couldn't be bothered anymore. It's been a constant theme, with noise finding its way outside the club every time there's a shaky patch. Most of the rumoured culprits have left (Alonso, Jorgi, etc.), so Todd and Co have to be very wise about who they're bringing in going forward while getting rid of players that feel their time is done at the club. On a side note, I noticed Monaco have decided against signing Sarr permanently due to his injury woes. Another one we might have to loan out again.
  4. If their investment is consistent and those behind the scenes stick to their 5-year plan, the league could be among the top leagues in the world. I have no issues with European football potentially having some competition at last, but the fact it's currently solely down to excessive wage packets is the notable downside.
  5. We're constantly linked with players under 25, and that seems to be the direction I mentioned previously. It might have a big upside down the line, but we'll pay the price in the meantime. City's leader is Pep, tbh. There's a reason they have a "leadership group" rather than an undisputed captain, which is certainly odd to me.
  6. We haven't had leaders or even positively vocal players in the squad since the old guard left. The sad thing is, our transfer direction is unlikely to solve that, which will continue to hurt us when the going gets tough (seemingly around Christmas time).
  7. His age and injury history worry me for £100m+. There's no questions about his ability. Levy likes to talk for the sake of it.
  8. I'm getting the feeling we might end up with Kane (should Ange be eager to get rid of him). If that were the case, I'm not sure how I'd feel.
  9. I certainly hope Sterling isn't starting games for us next season.
  10. I'm hoping their supposed interest in RLC and possibly Ziyech would significantly lower a potential fee.
  11. I hope there's some truth to this.
  12. I'm pleased that common sense has prevailed. If PSG wants to offer top EPL wages to someone coming from Portugal, so be it. There are probably a few reasons why they wanted to try and unmind us, so let them win this swinging match; there are bigger fish to fry.
  13. Israel missed two penalties in the space of 2 minutes as well. Their winner was something special - Israel v Brazil | Quarter-finals | FIFA U-20 World Cup Argentina 2023™ | Highlights
  14. You tend to make solid calls on players. Still thinking about your mini scout report on Kvaratskhelia - Serie A's POTY (Osimhen was very unfortunate IMO). It will be interesting to see how the club manage all three. Playing time is paramount for them all at this stage.
  15. It seems like he only has a smile on his face when playing for the Seleção. I'd expect more of the same were he to join United.
  16. And the match winner for Clermont missed a PK as well. It might sound odd to some, but Neymar was really the star for this side early on in the season. His constant injury woes have derailed his quest to be among the best around.
  17. He's certainly making a case for himself. It's surprising that of the three young CM's we signed, the one that went under the radar could be part of our squad next season.
  18. CHO could hardly get a game for Leveruksen since Alonso took charge. He was either overhyped from the get go, the ACL injury was extremely damaging to his career or a bit of both. With regards to the other three, we have to come to terms with the fact that there's a high chance at least one of them (should we part ways with all three) will hit the ground running while they weren't up to it here on a regular basis. The bolded part seems to have started already, with the club demanding €25m for RLC one moment before deciding €15m plus add-ons is sufficient to ship him off to Milan. We have to stand firm on players values instead of constantly being shafted ourselves.
  19. It seems like Poch wants to have a look at Broja and Fofana before making an assessment, so that could be part of the reason. I'm not sure it's the wisest move to give others a head start for a player in a position we're arguably most in need of.
  20. We played like that under Frank (the manager that lead us to the KO stages)?
  21. There's no chance he'd flourish at Liverpool; they press from the front from the get-go and don't have passengers, so there wouldn't be any place for Casper in their line up. Bayern, on the other hand, seems like the perfect fit for him for a number of reasons.
  22. There's really only one position that I can see him flourish in (AMF/SS), but he isn't good enough to have a team/formation cater to his needs. We aren't talking about someone of Hazard's ability or influence here.
  23. These early calls from Poch are to my liking. Felix gone, and Havertz will hopefully follow (that source, though). Keep Lukaku as far away as possible, and we'll be moving in the right direction.
  24. I believe it was only £100m. Considering what they paid for Grealish, I can see why he didn't accept.
