  1. Would Real really block Endrick's chance to slot right in, as that was supposedly the main reason he chose them? If Barcelona are even in the running, they should sell every right they have.
  2. If Napoli holds out for that kind of money, the number of suitors will be limited (US, PSG, or United if they are bought). Napoli did have an interest in Broja. If a player plus cash deal were possible, I'd reluctantly accept it.
  3. People better get those cameras out.
  4. This narrative of a false nine working for other teams, so that is the answer for us as well, is stupid. We were at our best when we had a vocal point (Drogba, Costa, etc) on both fronts. I just have a feeling Fofana will ultimately ply his trade out wide (I have no idea if he'll be giving that chance here), so we need someone lined up for the long haul. I'll just leave this here -
  5. I rate them; I just don't see any of them as being the right fit to play centrally. We win the CL, & he decides he wants one final challenge with our new influx of French players. 😉
  6. Benzema could even be an outside option, but it would hinge on a number of factors.
  7. I still feel like we missed a trick with Danjuma despite our attacking incomings. None of those names really instil much excitement for me at this moment in time. I'd rather put our hopes in Broja/Fofana.
  8. If we manage to actually get Enzo over the line, we'll just be short of a WC CF. There's only one name that should be on people's mind.
  9. We finally have competition for the RB spot. I didn't think this day would come after waiting for so long. I can see this move freeing up James (providing he can stay fit) and allowing him to really excel.
  10. Two points dropped. There were a few bright spots (Silva didn't put a foot wrong as usual), but we were let down by the inability of those upfront to make the right decision.
  11. You assumed correctly. Vlahović cost Juve €80m~, so I'd rather we push the boat out for someone that is perfectly suited to the EPL.
  12. There's only one striker in Serie A we should be after.
  13. That's the worry. We dug ourselves a hole the moment we succumbed to his demands.
  14. That isn't what I'm saying at all. We just have to be smart about our business. Famous? He did it once AFAIK (referring to Chelsea only).
  15. City have been a mess since the league resumed. We gifted them wins.
  16. He's still on our books. We don't want to go back to having a squad of 60+ with the current loan restrictions to boot.
  17. Contracts hardly mean anything nowadays. I could him imagine him getting a pay rise before joining someone like City or Madrid within 12 months. CHO...
  18. I'm rather excited to see us sign two wingers that caught my eye during the CL qualifying stages last season. The combined sum might be rather high, but they are direct wingers for whom we have been crying out for since the days of Robben and Duff. The only downside is that hopes of signing Kvaratskhelia and Leao are probably over. Next, a RB that can compete with James rather than a fodder. We aren't going after Livramento in the summer, so we need to get things done now.
  19. You're telling me Lukaku wouldn't have done better than Torres, Falcao, Morata, Michy, etc? Cherry picking one positive out of all the negatives to follow doesn't make up for them.
  20. I was referring to his time at Anderlecht.
  21. We're more than willing to spend £100m plus on Leao or Gvardiol. The last thing we need is another stop-gap. Neither did Salah or De Bruyne. This narrative of players not delivering for us really needs to stop at this point, as none of them were giving a fair crack of the whip. Both players have gone on to become the best the league has to offer, and we lost out on them because of managers. There's nothing more to be said about it. Lukaku's issue has always been his ego. He was a big fish in a small pond in Belgium along with the likes of Defour & Witsel, and none of those players managed to live up to their potential. I can't agree with your thoughts about Torres; he had everything needed to be a top CF but heavily relied on his ability to burst past someone (just look at his montage against Vidic, who some believe to be the best CB to every play in the league). The moment he got seriously injured at Liverpool, he lost that edge, and as a result, his confidence was shot. Roman, Ancelotti, or whoever it was still went ahead and spent a record fee on someone living off a reputation. That's the biggest worry I have as well. More players than I can name have been gifted with talent but couldn't handle the pressure of being away from their families, adapting to different surroundings, or the struggle of having to fight for a place. These sorts of signings have to be more than just gambles that will at the very least return a small profit should things turn sour, which has been the story of almost every youth player we've signed since the Belgian trio & Salah. Just look at Real Madrid; they've gotten a lot of flak for their lavish spending on players who can't even legally buy a drink yet, even though there's a purpose behind their thinking - the first team. Edit - Just to clarify, I'm not saying we should follow RM's strategy with regards to spending stupid money on kids. We should rather be going after players who could make the jump to the first team from the get-go. A name that comes to mind is Kvaratskhelia. @Vesper pointed him out as a potential option before most of Europe even knew about him.
  22. That's a common trend at this club, especially when it comes to CFs. Buy them at the wrong time and expect big things from them. There are so many bad habits that I hope disappear under new ownership. I'm also under no illusion that those bad habits won't be replaced by new ones. Osimhen (24 in a matter of days). It isn't hard to narrow it down.
  23. I recall Lukaku doing well in Belgium and then having a promising loan spell at WBA. I'm not going to say anything about a player I don't have any clue about, but the former delivered to an extent despite his technical flaws. As I've previously stated, the direction is a pleasing one & one that arguably proved most successful in terms of incomings a decade or so ago. However, both appear to be options for a few years down the road rather than ones that could seemingly break through by next summer.
  24. Everyone is the second coming of someone. Why can't players be the first of their kind?
