Higuain could have scored 30 goals already for us had he joined in July/August....
-
Higuain is a top class football player and he's definitely not over the hill just yet
-
We really need to find someone for that LCM role. Barkley just isn't good enough
-
Proper goal that was!

Playing this football we will ALWAYS be vulnerable to counter attacks when we have 10 players standing within 30 metres of the opponent's goal. Just like City and Barcelona and every other possession-based team are. That's why you put as many technical players on the pitch as possible so that you won't lose possession.
-
This would make so much sense with the squad we have right now, shame he isn't trying it
-
No he isn't, I could name 10 managers under Roman era that were feeling more pressure every day than Sarri is doing right now. The club will have patience with this guy beyond this season, I'm certain about that.
-
Sarri should try something different with that midfield because it ain't working. Willian/Hazard-Jorginho-Kovacic/RLC would make it so much more interesting for games like this CHO-Higuain-Pedro Hazard/Willian-Kovacic/RLC Jorginho
-
Knowing how Emerson will now sit in the stands or on the bench for the rest of the season I wish that Bournemouth game would have happened couple weeks ago so we would have had enough time to go all out in transfer market and buy Chilwell. Now it's too late and we're stuck with Alonso in the starting XI for the rest of the season Willian, Alonso and Barkley in the starting XI.....Fuck me
-
I think that's also poor defending from Juve (was that Bonucci rushing down from his position?) but it really highlights one big problem in this team. We don't have the type of LCM that is required. Barkley, Kovacic and RLC don't know how make that run into to space I'm afraid

3 year contract? To a player that will turn 31 in August and whose sole quality as footballer is his quick acceleration (which we know is a ability that starts to decline as people hit their 30s.) He isn't like Messi who can become a central midfielder once his legs are gone, he has no business on a football pitch once he can no longer make that quick acceleration. 3 year contract would be a nightmare.

We might have to get rid of two of our best players (Hazard and Kante) in order to make Sarriball work. Hazard hogs the ball, isn't as creative as Iniesta or as direct as proper winger. He isn't very good at pressing the teams so does he really have a future in this system? I hope he does but I am a little sceptical. What I don't like about Hazard is that he's not a leader, not a superstar like Ronaldo that will whip his team after a defeat. Hazard is better when he plays alongside other great players that take some of the spotlight away from him but as a lone superstar we are expecting too much from him. And let's not even mention the never-ending love affair between him and Real Madrid. It might be the right time to let him go Kante is amazing player and a person but there's no role for him in this system and especially in games where we have more than 60% of the ball. Playing him in that role will always feel like a compromise – I don't feel like I'm watching a midfield that's balanced enough to win trophies. He's been good and has improved over the season but he's still far from being a great player in that position. I think we need a more creative, stronger and meaner player in that position that can score 15 goals a season. Finally I do have to mention Jorginho. Yeah he's good at making that first transition (we're better at playing from the back than ever before) but is he really necessary when we've got defenders with the abilities to move the ball quickly and accurately. He's awfully limited player and we would really have to build a whole new midfield around his deficiencies which isn't generally how great teams are formed. He won't ever be as good as Busquets so even if we had prime Iniesta and Xavi in midfield would we be able to compete at the highest level? I'm still with Sarri and I hope the board are too. However, it's a long road ahead of us and with plenty of personnel changes. How many here would be willing to sacrifice Kante and Hazard and rebuild the team for Sarriball? By selling those to we would get enough money to "start over" but do we really trust the board to invest that money wisely? Selling our two best players and buying a full dozen of Drinkayokos would be the stuff nightmares are made of.

What an incredible team. 11 players and each one of them could have easily worn the captains armband (and most of them did either for Chelsea or for their national team). There are hardly any players worthy of captains armband in the current squad....

Play the youth next game. Sick and tired of these overpaid players turning on and off whenever they want
-
He needs to show some balls and start dropping these under performing players. Play Redan, Gilmour, Ampadu and CHO on Saturday, I think some of these big name big wage players should watch that game from the stands
-
We conceded quite a lot the last time he was here
-
Higuain definitely looks like a player
-
Hazard-Higuain-Pedro RLC-Jorginho-Kante Emerson-Luiz-Rudiger-Azpi Kepa That's our best XI right now I think. Might bring in CHO as RW but I think Pedro's off the ball movement is just too important for us right now. CHO is more explosive tho around the box so and perhaps more creative so its a tough decision for Sarri. As long as he doesn't pick Willian I'm happy, Hazard and Willian simply cannot be on the pitch at the same time, we become far too slow and one-dimension if that happens I also picked RLC instead of Kova because he just offers more going forward. Kova is a great great player but better in more defensive positions
-
He's the main reason why I became a Chelsea fan
-
On what planet were Costa and Eto'o failures? The whole talk about our striker curse has gotten so absurd that players are now labeled as failures regardless of how they play. Yes, Torres was terrible but at least he had the tendency to score important goals in big games (semi against Barca, Europa League final etc.). and I believe that would have scored A LOT more goals if he was playing under Conte or Sarri and with the squad we have today. The only true failure has been Morata.
-
There's 0 creativity in that midfield and then you have the likes of Willian and Alonso slowing down the play even more. We're also lacking Luiz's thru balls, Christensen seems scared with the ball Higuain has looked sharp
-
Christensen is pretty useless in this system I'm afraid. No physicality, no skills to pass the ball forward
-
Did you see that little run from Higuain. That's why Sarri loves him
-
So our left side is Alonso, Barkley and Willian. Good lord
-
I could bet money on Higuain starting this game. After all, he already knows this system better than all the other players apart from Jorginho
