  1. Neither would I, whether we scrape 1-0 wins or not, if it wins us a title I'd like it to happen
  2. Mourinho was very defensive when he managed us. Just think of all those 1-0 wins we achieved and the way Makelele used to go about his own defensive midfield role. And with Essien hopefully coming back from injury soon, I'm sure Hiddink with spur players like him in the right direction.
  3. Maybe Hiddink is going to help steady the ship, like you said, and someone like Rijkaard will take over in the summer. That sounds more realistic to me. At least if they bring in someone like Hiddink who has good enough qualities, then the person who takes over will hopefully opt to build on it. Hence, the Chelsea board will have a lot more time to think over who is really the right man for the job. If anything, you would feel that the board thinking about the position too much would result in confusion, and during that time we would have to rely on Wilkins, who isn't really proven enough to be in charge.
  4. Tri-Blue, I made this so you can use for your signature
  5. HIDDINK BEGINS TALKS WITH Chelsea Russia manager Guus Hiddink says he has been approached to take over as Chelsea manager until the end of the season. The west London club made a move for the Dutchman after sacking Brazilian Luiz Felipe Scolari on Monday. Hiddink, 62, who has close links with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, said: "If it was any other club my answer would be a straight 'No'. "But Chelsea is different because I have good relations with the owner. I would like to help them if I could." However, Hiddink stressed he will not be relinquishing his duties with Russia and is fully committed to helping the team qualify for the 2010 World Cup. "This would only be for the next two or three months until the end of the season," he said. Taken from the BBC website
  6. That maybe so, but so did Rijkaard on a number of occaisions while we had a rivalry with Barcelona in Europe, but these days he says he'd consider the job.
  7. mind you... what about Didier Deschamps? he's played for Chelsea, and has taken MONACO to a Champions League final.
  8. Just think though, it wasn't just Grant who urged the players to perform well, it was Steve Clarke there as well. Just imagine if Grant had to do everything on his own, and Ray Wilkins isn't as good as Clarke IMO.
  9. If he is commited enough, according to Kenyon then yes.
  10. Please NO!! Please don't bring back Avram Grant!! PLEASE!!! NO!!!
  11. I would say Rijkaard as well, but I feel he's overrated
  12. I don't think Sven is a good enough option if I'm honest. He only spent a season at Man City before they decided to dispose of him, so not a good choice
  13. some wise words from Minty there! Good to see he's also in favour of Hiddink too
  14. That's what I'm trying to point out! If we give the younger talent a few Cup games, like Arsenal, Liverpool and United do, then we would have a good set of experienced young stars. I remember when Scotty Sinclair played against Hull last season in the Carling Cup, and he was immense in that game. Capped it off with a great goal that night.
  15. Maybe, but I've heard David O'Leary is favourite for the Pompey job according to the Daily Mirror lol
  16. Maybe I am sounding naive, but I'm just saying at least give some of the potential stars a few games, at least that's what I would do.
  17. Another thing we need to improve on is our youth academy. John Terry all those years back, Mancienne, Stoch, and Sinclair are the only real talented players who have come through the ranks and have stayed at Chelsea to this day. If you look at Man United and Arsenal, they almost have a team of young stars, notibly Arsenal are a prime example of finding young talent. I can remember when Arsenal played a strong Liverpool eleven at Anfield with almost a young side out and they won 6-3!
  18. Clarke wasn't happy because Mourinho left, and because of the stupid decisions Kenyon made! So when he fucked off, we bring in Ray Wilkins, who couldn't manage an under-16 sunday league team. We need to bring in someone who doesn't take shit from players and just gets on with his job, and larap those who don't pull their weight, and if they don't, then he doesn't play them next game, I'm afraid because of Scolari's lack of European experience, to go with his lack of discipline towards the players, he wasn't good enough to be that.
  19. The fact is, Clarke should never have left in the first place. And on the contrary, niether should have Mourinho!! You would have thought Kenyon would have at least put in enough effort to keep both of them at the club and issued a long term stay for them, rather than just fart about and just let them go. If Mourinho and Clarke hadn't of left Chelsea, we wouldn't be in the mess we're in!!
  20. WHY AVRAM GRANT AS COACH?!?! The guy is clueless! He not fit enough to even be a Boot cleaner!!! I want STEVE CLARKE BACK!!
  21. Zola doesn't want to leave West Ham because he wants to start something good with them, and the fans have the utmost respect for him, so much as I would love him to get the job, he's not the man! My top 5 men are: - Jose Mourinho - Guus Hiddink - Slaven Bilic - Frank Rijkaard - Martin O'Neill* *I don't think this is a reality because Villa won't want to give up their manager after their enthatic form
