That's a good joke David! .................. ..................................

don't be a spoil sport TX! this is just what we need! Matic is a great midfielder, who can be cover for Essien and Ramires if either gets injured. I also believe that players like Matic will want to, not only learn from top quality players but also work harder to earn a place. Yes it's not going to allow him to play as many games, but it's surely going to make him work harder to become a better player. On the other hand, Ramires is the perfect type of player we're after. He's quick, hold onto the ball well, and can make a great pass! I think this signing of Ramires is going to give us excellent stability in the midfield! BlueDrew can back me up on this!

CHELSEA EDGE CLOSER TO £18 MILLION RAMIRES SWOOP Chelsea are today poised to complete the signing of Brazilian World Cup midfielder Ramires - and give Carlo Ancelotti his prime target. Stamford Bridge boss Ancelotti has earmarked the 23-year-old Benfica star as the key piece in his summer refit project. And with Benfica President Luis Felipe Vieira finally giving the green light on an £18.3million deal, Ramires is expected to become a Chelsea player in the next 24 hours. Ancelotti, who has lost Michael Ballack, Juliano Belletti and Joe Cole and so far only recruited £5m Yossi Benayoun, has targeted Ramires since before the World Cup when his absence through suspension was a major contributory factor in Brazil's quarter-final defeat by Holland. The sticking point was the fact that Benfica had only been able to afford his £5.8m signing from Corinthians by selling a 50 per cent stake in the player to an investment company headed by Iranian-born Kia Joorabchian. Now, though, the Lisbon side - who stand to make more than £8m despite Joorabchian's cut - are willing to accept Chelsea's improved offer and Vieira said: "We have completed nothing yet and the place where Ramires goes does not entirely depend on us. "There is a partnership and and we must respect it. "But our main goal is to continue to build the team and do the right thing in sporting terms. "If there is a good proposal, we will do everything we can to make it work for us. We are prepared for all eventualities and have options to fill all the positions to ensure we strengthen our base." Ramires was known as the "Blue Kenyan" during his spell with Brazilian side Corinthians, a tribute to the club's traditional colours and his remarkable endurance and ability to run and run. ----------------------------------------- Source:- Mirror Football ----------------------------------------- Looking very promising guys!! :blue scalf:

I guess that's the reason why we're not going for him, because he's priced too high, and his performances might not even match his valuation.
-
Have had NewsNow running all day, and none of those reports have come up!
-
I guess that's good news.... but something tells me there's a twist to this. The FA are not going to like our activity with a third party group!
-
of course they wouldn't... I'm talking about the actual transfer (should it ever happen), not what Ashley Cole is saying. We could be reading a lot of bull-shite for all we know. It might not be what Ashley Cole is thinking, so you're correct. The Chelsea site wouldn't publish anything that's likely to be false news.
-
I just think it's NOTW trying to stir things up again! I won't believe anything until it's published on the official website!
-
laughable... absolutely bloody laughable!!
-
HILARIO IS FUCKING WANK!!!! He should have dealt with that clearance GET RID OF HIM!! :mouthclosed:
-
Matic pulling attacker's shirt.... penalty!! FUCK! Altintop scores 2-1
-
Matic holds the ball up very well! I've been rather impressed with him!
-
SUPER FRANKIE LAMPARD!!! GET IN!! Nice assist by van Aanholt! :blue scalf:
-
McEachran coming on! This is a lad I really wanna see do well!!
-
Essien should have put one away there! Well wide!
-
Hilarious/ Turnbull out!! FFS get a goalkeeper that's going to challenge Petr Cech because that horrific goalkeeping error is the exact reason why we could be vulnerable this season. Absolutely pathetic first half!
-
Ahh that's a shame! Was looking forward to seeing him play today
-
I really hope Bruma plays because he's a player I really want to see doing well for us! I want us to mould him into a Dutch John Terry. Also Kakuta is playing on the back of a winning tournament so he'll be hungry and on form. We need to play him for a bit of the game as well.
-
I think that all of this twaddle about him possibly staying at Benfica, is just so that they can squeeze every last million out of us. But they know as well as anyone, (unless they can be talked round) that keeping a player who has ambitions and desires elsewhere has more of a chance of having a poor season. Any player will tell you that if that happens to you during your career, you find it difficult to make a name for yourself because there will be other players waiting to take over the popularity. Ramires realises that he can achieve something with us. The bottom line is, Benfica really should take the bait and sell him to us, otherwise, get ready for some fireworks between Ramires and Benfica representatives. Ancelotti is getting interviewed at some point this evening, so we'll know from him where the developments are at. I'm sure he's going to say some positive things about Ramires!

Chelsea are still on track to sign Neymar from Santos and Ramires from Benfica, though Blues owner Roman Abramovich is refusing to pay an inflated price for the Brazilian pair. Both Santos and Benfica have been attempting to drive up the price of their in-demand Brazilians, but Abramovich insists he will not spend more than £20 million on each player. A source close to the Neymar deal told Soccernet: "There is still a good chance this deal will go through. However, Roman Abramovich will not sanction the 35 million euro buyout clause. "The talks are ongoing, the player wants to come to Chelsea and we everyone involved is currently still working on it." And despite Ramires claiming on Thursday that he would love to secure a "dream" move to Stamford Bridge, the transfer fee has yet to be agreed and appears to remain a sticking point. A source close to the Ramires talks told Soccernet: "There is progress, but it is steady, and there could be developments shortly. "There is no doubt the player has set is heart on moving to Chelsea, and he had informed Benfica of his desire to go to Stamford Bridge. It is only a matter of time, and perhaps adjusting the price." While the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal are also proving reluctant to pay big money for players, Manchester City are bucking the trend by spending over the odds to bring players to Eastlands. Abramovich did the same when he first arrived in west London, but a new era of relative prudence appears to have been ushered in at Stamford Bridge. --------------------------------------- Source:- Soccernet & ESPN --------------------------------------- Well if Roman isn't going to spend more than £20 million for a player, then I reckon that pretty much ousts any chance of signing Aguero. But this is good news I reckon! We're still chasing Ramires!

välkomna tillbaka Oscar! :blue scalf:

I think there's a slender chance of us reducing the bid, but I don't think even that will be enough! I reckon also, that's why Atletico are debt stricken, because they are having to pay Aguero a huge wage every week. If we were to sign him, maybe we would have the same problem in a few years. Not likely to happen though with all the money Abramovich has!

Injury Latest - Terry, Sturridge & Romeu out injured.

Definitely agree. I think Zhirkov had a great first season with us, and hopefully, should he get more playtime he'll only get better. It will be tough shifting Ashley Cole out of the left back position at the moment, but he's an excellent utility player to have. -
Yeah exactly!!! We have first refusal on him anyway, so why not make a bid for him! If Santos won't budge with Neymar then what the fuck is stopping us??
-
Totally agree! I'd rather see Jeffrey Bruma get a chance in the team! Ever since he got called up for the Netherlands team, I've been thinking to myself, this is when we can really dwell on a top quality young player. Bruma the new Terry??
