:goodpost: I pity all the anti-chelsea scumbags slagging Ashley because of his private life. As long as he does the business on the pitch, they should respect him for that.

I'd rather see our team have plenty of English players in it to be honest. I know the homegrown rule allows foreign players who've played 3 years before they're 21, but it's always nice to have an "English core" of the team. Players like Joe Cole left the club because he couldn't sign a deal with us... you expect Chelsea to bring English replacements.

I bet his wages would be horrifying though!!

I was thinking about this today... we do have players in our squad who have experience playing in Russia of course, which would give us a bit of an advantage... Ivanovic and Zhirkov At least if Ivanovic played in his preferred central role in defence, we can be guaranteed a solid performance from him, and now that Bos is back from injury, he could slot in at right-back to give us some pace. As for Zhirkov, he could play on the left, with Malouda on the right, and then Kakuta can come on as a sub, depending on the score.

I can imagine the stick Rooney would get if he joined a rival club to Man United! The hatred towards him would be staggering. If he joined the blue side of Manchester, a linkup with Tevez again would be on the cards, and their fans would brag brag brag about it!
