You learn your team through defeat because then you get given the chance to change the tactics around so that a freak show like what we've seen today doesn't happen again! I'm trying to see this as a positive thing, so that confidence and improvement can replace the deflation and agony!

My exact thought... the main worry I had going into the game was the fact that Arsenal had 2 pacy attackers in Walcott and Gervinho... AVB looked as though he was going all out attack to win this game, which is primarily what we have never done against big clubs in the past! We have passed the ball around the opposition and been patient under the likes of Mourinho and Ancelotti (at times). Today however, we were NOT patient... and our defence was all over the place... Arsenal exploited that, and used creativity to their advantage. Also, you could easily tell that AVB hadn't understood the art of defending because of all the space that we gave to them. I was flabbergasted to see Santos running into an open space to equalise at the beginning of the second half because all of our defence were drawn to the other side. I honestly think Luiz should have been selected to play alongside Terry, and put Ivanovic at right back because, at least then our marking would have been better, and there would have been less gaps in the defence. And as you so rightly say, Bosingwa can't defend to save his life.

Now that I'm thinking about it, how can a defence that consists of Cech, Ivanovic, Terry, Cole, concede 5 goals at home .. against an Arsenal side who got blown away 8-2 at United, lost against Sp*rs, and fired blanks at home against Liverpool! It just doesn't make any sense!

Whenever I think of something like that, I remember... 1) the Aston Villa game where we almost won 3-2 through a Terry strike, then suddenly, Ciaran Clark comes on and scores late on... 2) the time when we almost beat Newcastle 2-1 at home, and Steven Taylor squeezed in a header in 90 minutes

Absolutely spot on! You can't judge a young manager in the Premier League trying to learn his team.... the way it plays, the way it attacks or defends! This is what I hate about the Chelsea board, their impatience! Whenever a manager isn't delivering the goods, or there are no trophies at the end of the season, they have to get rid of them! It's not good for the club because every manager that is appointed has a different philosophy and tactics for the players to get used to, but once that manager is gone, then you have to learn something different, and it's not good for the players at all! As long as you stick to one philosophy and take the time to let it mould into the style of play, you have a chance of delivering better results. But this game was a way of saying to Boas, "what you're doing is not working... change it now!"

He's still learning, people should give him a bit more space and time so he can adapt to his game!

Unless AVB sorts out our defence quickly, to avoid a freak show like that... we are going to experience a carbon copy of what happened to us last season... a BAD run of form!

There are defeats that I can take with dignity because we played like we wanted to win, like the QPR game last week, and then there are games like this one.... ... I am honestly disgusted at our approach to the second half... there was more space for Arsenal in that half than how much there is in a fucking galaxy! Santos' goal was a prime example of that ... ... I'm utterly ashamed ... what is there left to say ?? I honestly don't know! Too pissed off to explain anything more!

Mata has been brilliant! Can't fault him... set up Lampard's goal... has made fantastic passes... that's what we have lacked for years! Would love it if he scored!

Sturridge's passing needs to improve because it's awful at the moment! I can't fault his effort to win the ball though... As for the 1st half as a whole, I think we've kept the ball better, but I'm really hating the amount of space that we're giving Arsenal, and they benefit from that because they have enough space to create, which scares me!

Ramires = speed Lampard = goals from midfield Mata = creativity Mikel = strength and protection Everyone has different roles!

Why?? Arsenal's pace would just outdo us in strength if we don't have Mikel there. Meireles just seems far too lightweight!
