  1. On a couples holiday with Depay and their wives so the story goes.
  2. Barkley departs | News | Official Site | Chelsea Football Club (chelseafc.com) Time to move this thread.
  3. It obviously means a lot that you have watched him properly. I'll see if I can watch more complete videos and see if I find what many others have found in Leao that I've missed so far. Thanks for the reply.
  4. Agreed. We need to become excellent at operating in this market.
  5. Lam, talk me through what I am not seeing in this lad. I won't mince my words, to me he looks extremely ordinary indeed. His stats are regarded as impressive but we know it's always important to assess the input not just the output. He has achieved stuff but looking at his videos I have no idea how. I see no superior ball control, no superior body control, no superior poise, no superior vision. As for all those stupid flicks and tricks they make me want to put YouTube HQ out of action permanently. To be frank, I see nothing in this kid. Are my eyes getting that bad or is it just my judgement? I much, much prefer the look of the Portuguese bloke, Pepe, we were linked with this morning.
  6. According to a breakdown I saw, had it gone ahead, the deal for Haaland last summer would have totalled £500,000,000 all in. Half a billion smackeroonies!
  7. If you ain't got it you have to fake it. 🙂
  8. Barca know our need is urgent, that we are running out of time and out of options. They are simply trying to leverage the negotiating conditions to achieve the best result for themselves. Not only are they entitled to do this, it is exactly what they should do. Good for them. Our negotiators can't control what Barca do, only what they do themselves. What I hope they will do, now and always, is be calm and think long term instead of short. If we keep getting manipulated into 'he'll have to do' transfers we'll live in this cycle of desperate overspending and underachievement by our recruits for ever more. The only way to teach the market that we can't be messed around is to not let them mess us around. It's time to sing your song TB:
  9. Surely no one would really pay that kind of money for Leao so that has to be just a notional price Milan might fantasize about. Good luck to them if they manage to get even half that but hopefully it won't be from us.
  10. I really, really hope this isn't true. Another bloke who doesn't even look good in highlight videos.
  11. Strangely enough Tino Liveramento will be the Leeds manager when that result happens. (Did I forget to mention the year for that result? 😀)
  12. Chelsea fan from the future. Leeds 2-4 Chelsea.
  13. If this happened I'd dance a jig of delight even bigger than the one I did when we signed Kadeisha Buchannan. Can't see it though. Best that could happen for us is that he stays with Dortmund for one more season and preferably two. In theory at least that would give us time to improve our status because if Bellingham was to move this during window he would not come here. Two years may not be enough for us to fix this but it would give us more chance than we'd have now.
  14. No, I don't think so. Never understood how this fella became so highly rated.
  15. Not always a recommendation. Renato Sanches was named young player of Euro 2016 but, a good strike from outside the box apart, he was largely awful. I'm convinced he won simply because of name recognition due to the silly fee Bayern paid for him in the run up to those Euros. Knew it would not work for him in Munich and said so. Ditto Swansea. PSG is his best chance yet. Good luck to the lad but elected awards are not always won by the most deserving candidate.
  16. I can't claim to have seen statistics but it certainly feels like that. Whenever the circumstance allows room for personal interpretation by the officials, the interpretation always seems to go against us.
  17. Excellent idea. Throughout football we want people who are specialists at what they do. In addition, if they never officiate in stadium then there is much less chance of them forming negative feelings towards any club, even subconsciously, because of historical incidents.
  18. From Didier's Facebook page: As the new @premierleague season starts, before the first @chelseafc home game, I wanted to highlight and thank two People who were so important during my time at the Club. First of all, I want to thank Marina for always supporting me in the good moments and even the difficult moments at the club, when most people were criticising me for saying loud (maybe a bit too loud actually) and clear what I felt unfair ( champions league CFC v Barcelona 2009 ) Only @marina_granovskia and a handful of people understood it as someone who cared for the club, the badge and the fans. Her contribution to this club is beyond what people on the outside know. Over nineteen years she worked so hard to build a world class club and to keep the blue flag flying high in the world of football. And to Roman, Boss, no need to tell stories of moments we shared together. MY LOYALTY AND RESPECT FOR YOU IS FOR LIFE !!! On both a professional and a personal level I can never thank you enough for your belief and support and the vision you created to help us all achieve our dreams. You came unknown in to the football world, you leave having won everything possible @chelseafc Together we made history that no one can take away It is here forever
  19. I was literally just wondering if, given his age, he might be happy to join as a squad player.
  20. But: - Has his pay been stopped? Otherwise what kind of punishment is it to be given a week off? Pay or no pay this is just a sop to quieten the masses. What difference does his suspension make to anybody? What are they doing to fix the problem? There need to be two VAR officials officiating independently and without the ability to communicate with each other. If their assessment of an event is unanimous that decision is passed to the referee. If they are split, the ref is called to the screen to make the decision. Ideally the referee would not know which officials are on VAR duty and neither VAR official will know who the other is. That at least makes cheating more difficult.
  21. Update: Club site now showing fewer than 1700 tickets remaining. Be quick! 😀
  22. As of this morning there are only 6,262 general admission tickets remaining on sale to Chelsea fans for the women's opening game of the season against West Ham at Stamford Bridge. If you've never watched CFCW play this is your best chance yet. https://www.chelseafc.com/en/tickets/womens-tickets
