  1. The curse has been broken! CHELSEA HAS A STRIKER!!!
  2. Actually, I think the fact that people here are feeling a little bit nervous is perfectly natural and it will always be like that no matter how good we get. In such a competitive league, it's normal to feel some anxiety before every game because there is little room for error. If you take a look at Redcafe though, the MU fans have pretty much thrown the towel already. They will be celebrating if they can get a draw out of us.
  3. Exactly. When Mou did it at Old Trafford, he knew what he was doing. If Moyes is going to try that, it will be an experiment more than anything. And it will likely go wrong.
  4. On one hand the manager claims the player wasn't working hard enough, on the other hand the player claims he was. Who is telling the truth? Go and watch KDB's game against Sunderland.
  5. lol at you hypocrites wishing him good luck. Deep inside we are all secretly hoping he is a total flop so that we don't make fools out of ourselves
  6. It would still be embarassing if we lost with those two playing, in my opinion. There are simply NO excuses. Not even the same old one that our strikers are useless. Nothing short of a win is tolerable here. We must approach them with the aggressiveness of an angry bully and show no mercy.
  7. Sneijder arrived at Mourinho's Inter Milan on 27 August 2009. He debuted the very next day against A.C. Milan. They won 4-0.
  8. According to MU fans, this was actually a trick regularly used by Ferguson.
  9. Very well written but inaccurate on several aspects in my opinion. David Luiz with all his qualities and flaws is an amazing player. The problem that people here have with Luiz is not that he has flaws, because every player does. The problem here stirs from the fact that Chelsea today has a manager who has a scientific approach to football, which is compounded by a vision of discipline and rigor where each player is given very specific instructions as to what he must and must not do. Like Luiz, we also got this manager knowing fully well who he was and how he worked, and even before the season started, there were rumors that fan-favorites Mata and Luiz were seen with skepticism by the new management. Because of this, us Chelsea fans who both love David AND feel optimistic about the new project, are faced with a dilemma: On one hand there is a system being built that simply does not tolerate the uncertainty brought by a player's "rushes of blood" that often times result in absolute brilliance capable of making us fans drop our jaws, and which, however, a lot of times also result in total disaster for the team, and on the other hand, like you said, it's a shame that we have no means of getting more out of this wonderful potential. Most of Chelsea's fans who criticize Luiz for his failure to adapt and become more disciplined, actually do it because they know he will be gone soon unless he does, and they don't want that to happen. Unfortunately, like you pointed out, even if Luiz was to become more "traditional", he simply wouldn't be himself anymore. So perhaps his best future lies outside our club... Unlike you though, I feel skeptic that he will find that freedom and tolerance that he requires to flourish as a player, in a club like Bayern or Barcelona. The distaste for players who regularly boycott the manager's instructions in the heat of the moment, is usually common in all world class managers. It's not just Mourinho.
  10. Whether Lampard has been contributing or not is rather irrelevant when it comes to showing some respect. If he's not giving us more, it's because he can't. But one thing is to point out he no longer deserves a place in the team, another is to refer to the club's biggest legend as some sort of old unwanted dirty rag. That's sickening to say the least. Actually, if you know Portuguese, watch this one instead: It's a lot funnier LOL. (Benfica's president saying no matter what happens, Matic only leaves for 50€m)
  11. ---------------------- One of the biggest advantages of having a manager known for the close relationship he builds with his players is this. And also another reason why Man United are screwed.
  12. When Jose is a fan of a mid fielder, there's usually a very good reason for it. At Real Madrid he signed Xabi, Ozil, Modric and Khedira. All of these signings have since been proven brilliant.

  14. Will we actually get to know the exact deal? Today in the Portuguese media I've read Benfica demands 30m + a Chelsea player or nothing. On one hand, I'm more inclined to believe the 20~25m figure, but then again why would Benfica agree to lose such a key player for just 20m?
  15. One thing Mou and Guardiola have in common is they both like discipline. I don't believe Bayern would want him knowing they can attract a better player with a stronger mentality.
  16. United fans are so f*ing mad right now LOL, I love it! They have been drooling over Matic all year and apparently came very lose to signing him during the summer before the einstein Moyes chose to spend the money on Fellaini instead. This club really seems to have turned into a joke.
  17. Actually, if you look close enough, you can see it in his eyes the real reason he is happy there is because Benfica told him they will let him go to Chelsea.
  18. I'm so proud of him... People often compare Messi and Ronaldo to other great legends of the game. But in my opinion, there is no argument that there has never been a player as passionate about the sport as him. People are quick to judge him as being a bad person because he doesn't react well to criticism, he's very transparent about his emotions and often times a sore loser. But the truth is, he came from a very poor family and everyone who has ever met him personally endorses he has a very good heart. His bad attitudes towards criticism and defeats can be attributed to his passion for the sport. I've had the chance to be close to him while doing volunteer work at Benfica's stadium during Portugal's game against Bosnia and it was easy to see he was a very cool guy. Personally, I prefer people like him who are very transparent about their feelings and weaknesses, to fake people who always put on a smile no matter what. But many others don't think this way.
  19. True. On youtube you can actually find videos of players wanting to swap shirts (Mourinho's jacket) with him. I had never seen such thing before in football.
  20. The player is demanding that the club let him leave. When things get to that point, the club doesn't have much choice. If it was up to me, Chelsea would get him without paying a penny to Benfica lol.
  21. Striker is the number 1 priority. But the truth is, we won't get a world class striker until summer. If we get a striker this month, it will either be an average one, or we'll be spending a ridiculous amount of money for a good one. Our strikers are useless, but the games against City and Liverpool have shown we can still get shit done as long as the rest of the team is in form. Certainly, nobody was expecting us to win the treble this season. I think we can wait.
  22. How long can it take? The transfer window only lasts 1 month. The media in Portugal reports he will be in Chelsea next week.
  23. How exactly will this make Luiz the most expensive CB of all time? Matic wasn't worth 25m back then. Just because he's improved and is now more valuable than he was, that doesn't change the value he had at the time of his first transfer. That said, Matic + 25m for Luiz was indeed a horrible deal.
  24. The Portuguese media speaks of a 25m deal.
  25. Remember in the first leg BOTH sides were blatantly looking for a draw. This time it will be just them looking for it. We overestimated them there. First of all, they were league champions while Chelsea was just starting to rebuild itself. Secondly, there was no indicator Moyes was going to be a flop. And lastly, they were playing at home. This time around, even if Chelsea starts with a conservative lineup, there is zero chance we'll be looking for a draw.
