Just be a phenomenal player is all
-
I once said I dislike David Luiz as a player, but to my knowledge that's the only time I spoke bad about another Chelsea player. If not, please show my quotes where I "stabbed other players in the back". Pathetic, really. I also stated that the fact that being happy with Chelsea's performances doesn't necessarily exclude being unhappy with how a particular player is treated, or with a particular situation. Great results don't make up for everything, just like bad results don't mean everything's bad. Anyone who know the least bit about football, knows that much. Boy, really hate having to repeat myself over and over again... Level of some comments is really sad.
-
Oh man, do I really have to repeat what I said to Tomo? You're on the KDB thread here so it's quite logical you will read comments about KDB, how he played, his future, the way he's dealth with etc. That's why this is A KDB THREAD. Again, if you don't want to read about KDB, DON'T COME TO THE KDB THREAD. What's so difficult about that?
-
First of all, I don't agree that either one of Mata, KDB or Willian needed to be replaced when 0-2 up against Arsenal in the league cup. If you wanted to bring in a fresh pair of lungs, could easily have replaced Essien or Mikel (whose standard of passing wasn't at all great, mind you). But if you really want to replace one of the 3 AM's, KDB would've been last choice for me as he's the only one who really needed the 90 minutes. Maybe Mata also more than Willian. So, could've replaced Willian.
-
That's not the point. Doesn't matter if you like him or think he's crap. On a KDB forum people are going to discuss KDB, win or lose. If you just want to talk about how great Chelsea was playing and all that, just go to the post-match thread. You won't be reading (as many) KDB comments there.

My analysis of KDB's game last night: First 20 minutes strong, very present, a threat. Then a mix-up with Azpilicueta half-way the first half seemed to kill KDB's confidence. Made him pretty much unvisible for the rest of the first half. Afraid to ask the ball at times, a very strange contradiction to his first twenty minutes. I though he was better again the first twenty minutes of the second half (until he was benched), more involved, good passing etc. but it did strike me that many players seemed to exclude him from the play. I can't recall a single pass from Obi Mikel, Essien or Willian directed to KDB. Only Mata combined with KDB. And somehow that's reassuring, cause great footballers like Mata tend to look for other great players on the field. So for Mata, KDB is definitely one of them. So I thought it was a shame to see KDB subbed after 70 minutes, in my opinion a harsh and unnecessary decision. So pretty much in line with how he was treated ever since the United game. You can't say Mou isn't consistent with him ...
-
Oh boy ... If you don't want to hear about KDB, don't come to his forum. Simple as that. You're the joke, mate.
-
Well that has to be the end of KDB at Chelsea. First to be replaced during Capital One Cup game, that says it all.
-
Oh boy, you're totally missing the point. Last attempt: We were talking about why KDB didn't go out on loan, well the reason is Mourinho openly stated that KDB was going to be a key player for Chelsea this season. So that was BEFORE the season, during pre-season. Mou was so impressed by KDB (or pretended to be impressed) that HE (Mourinho) explicitly requested that KDB should stay at Stamford Bridge and not go out on loan. That was ALL I was saying. Mou actually confirmed KDB's key player status by dropping him into the starting 11 for the first match of the season, but despite being named MOTM (okay, you can discuss whether or not that was correct, but at least it means he played rather well) he's not had a decent chance since. And please don't say he'll get a new chance tonight against Arsenal. KDB doesn't have any match rhythm thanks to Mou so what can you expect from him in one match against Arsenal in the CC for crying out loud.
-
@Stingray, I know and I apologize! I can't even help myself. Impossible for me to read past some of these nonsense posts about him and not react.
-
Oh don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the victory as much as everyone around here! I even cancelled a dinner with my in-laws just to see every minute of the match Doesn't mean I can't regret the fact that KDB 's being put to waste. He'd make such a brilliant addition to our squad.
-
Sorry man but that's a load of cr*p. Barça has been proving for seven or eight years that absurd squad depth is totally unnecessary if not contra-productive.
-
Haha very obvious that you don't know him. Kevin hasn't complained a single time and is working his ass off on training. It's just the press (and us Belgian ons the forum) making a fuzz about it, because we all think he's the next Johan Cruyff. The Belgian version that is. So don't make a cry baby out of Kevin. It's us who are the cry babies
-
Okay, this is the last time: MOURINHO decided that KDB shouldn't be loaned, NOT the other way around. Now stick it in your ears and don't forget about it
-
Of course but doing the best for Belgium and Chelsea happen to be the exact same thing: put De Bruyne on the pitch. But I can't blame you guys for not knowing just how good De Bruyne is, as you've hardly seen him play. Give it some time, you'll change your mind about him, playing for CFC or another club.
-
It's sad to see people express their opinion on KDB's situation without any knowledge. KDB did see it coming, he was willing to go on loan again or even on sale, but Mourinho explicitly requested him to stay and publicly flagged him as "a key player for Chelsea this season".
-
What do you expect KDB to do from the stands? Chest a ball down when Terry kicks it into the crowd? Be serious for a minute. There's nothing KDB has done to get into this situation and very clearly there's nothing he can do to get out of it again. Just wait for a good opportunity to arrive in January & leave the club permanently, get as far away from Mou as he possibly can. As a Blues fan it breaks my heart to see how they're putting a prodigious young player like that to waste. Mourinho's policy.
-
You are absolutely right. I wrote an opinion piece about the exact same topic on my Football blog, but it's in Dutch unfortunately :-) Bottom line of the article = too much competition makes a team weaker. Gifted players like Hazard, De Bruyne, Oscar, Mata, Torres & Willian need to be nurtured, given full confidence in order to achieve their best form. Too much competition makes players like that start doubting themselves, make bad decisions in order to improve their stats and beat the competition. Perfect example is indeed Real Madrid vs Barcelona. A true top team builds it's squad around 11 absolutely indisputed top players. Top football is about making choices & sticking to it.
-
KDB will be flattered by your consideration, but Mourinho doesn't regard his as a major asset. He wouldn't be watching the games from the stands then, would he? Chelsea attacking midfield is overcrowded and Mou will be happy to sell his ginger rubble to any club that thinks he's worth anything around β¬ 20 mio. And so he should, no point in wasting his talent any longer in the Chelsea B squad. JosΓ© is only interested in the proven stars, he can't work with a young talent, always been like that. Was the same at Real Madrid. His big mouth made him the great coach he's now considered to be, not his talent.
-
Hate to say I told you so ... Several sources now confirming Moyes is preparing a January bid for De Bruyne. Sum should be somewhere between β¬ 15 mio and β¬ 20 mio. That's a real bargain, kid's going to be one of the biggest stars on the planet. Too bad it's going to happen in a red kit (Man U & Belgian Red Devils).

Hm I don't agree with your picking order. KDB would be my sure pick on right wing. Would be a shame to convert him into a CM with his crossing abilities. So on the left: 1. Hazard 2. SchΓΌrrle 3. De Bruyne CM: 1. Mata 2. Lampard 3. Ramires 4. De Bruyne Right: 1. De Bruyne 2. Willian 3. Ramires AM: 1. Oscar 2. Hazard Something like that ...
-
Hm I don't think there's much comparison here. De Bruyne is a lot stronger and is able to pick out a player from anywhere. Qualities I don't see in Kagawa nor in any other midfielder at Man U for the moment. But this is not a United forum of course.
-
I'm glad you acknowledge that. After the Malaysia game Mourinho literally said "It's clear De Bruyne will be a key player for us." To evolve from that status to an U21 position in such a short amount of time, with only a mediocre performance against Man U (the whole team and strategy was bad) & a weak performance against Swindon (it's the League Cup for crying out loud), to blame on him, I think that's a bit harsh to say the least. I also agree that a sell would be better than a loan if he can't convince Mou by January. He could be just the player Man United needs to step up their game in midfield. Anyway, given his performances for Belgium and last year in BΓΌndesliga, I'm sure there will be plenty of interest to snatch him from Chelsea for a few quid.
-
It's not all about the Belgians. I wasn't too convinved about Lukaku playing for Chelsea either. But okay, if you look at how he's playing at Everton now, maybe it was a bad decision from Mou after all. I think we can safely assume that he would have scored a lot more goals than Torres, Etoo or Ba (maybe even the 3 of them combined :-)) ... but okay Lukaku still requires a lot of polishing, definitely in the technical area, and I fear he'll never really break through at Chelsea. And Hazard, I think he needs to step up as well, his stats are nowhere this seasons, maybe replace him by De Bruyne ;-)
