Another ten minutes! He's sure getting all those playing chances he was promised two weeks ago. Also, that picture is absolutely real. Stephan Vanfleteren, a well know Belgian photographer made pics like these of all Belgian internationals. For some kind of good cause is my guess. =^p
Btw, I have absolutely no doubt about (national coach) Wilmots benching him if he's playing as little as he is now in May. There are options. Mirallas is having a very decent season, hazard can play on both flanks if needed, Dries Mertens or Nacer Chadli could cover the left wing and if that doesn't work you have the likes of Bakkali and other backup players who could step in. And that's even without the (small) possibility of Januzaj choosing to play for Belgium.
I don't think it has ever occured in modern football, that the striker contributing most to a possible title, wasn't even playing for the club. Say thanks for the two extra points, Jose!
I think it's practically impossible to convince Mourinho to change his mind once he thinks you're not his main man. If he forces him to stay after January, he's an asshole. By now, looking at what's being said these last weeks, I'm not seeing Lukaku ever becoming a regular under Mourinho either.
It's not because Messi and Pele (who was still playing in a time were most defenders were overweight bags of shit btw ) might be better, that he was overrated. Messi is certainly more productive, indeed. But Messi is playing in maybe the best club team since the invention of the game, and Maradona played most of his years at Napoli and in an at most mediocre Argentinian national team. He might have been a drug user, and he might have cheated, but in the same game he made one of the most iconic and brilliant goals in the history of football. If he's overrated, everyone is.
Don't forget Falcao was already 23 before he went to Europe and started scoring. And Portugal might be one of the easiest leagues to rack them up in, once you're playing for Porto or Benfica. Martinez was 25-26. Same story. Imagine Lukaku in 3 or 5 years.
Lukaku just came second behind Pogba in the Golden Boy Award, celebrating the best European talent under 21. Previous winners: Rooney, Messi, Van der Vaart, Fabregas, Aguero, Pato, Balotelli, Gotze, Isco...
It's all well and good he's praising him, I would like praise myself as well. But the timing is kind of well... suspicious, right? He's not even on the bench in most matches, and suddenly this? If i was him, I'd try to get out of there as soon as possible, at least for the coming 6 months. He's gonna miss a starting spot in Brazil if he continues like this... He can always try again next year. It's not that they're missing him right now.
